Men of BGOL, how do you deal with getting older?

As you get older hopefully you're making more money and wiser. Buy the dream house, dream car, take vacations even a staycation, get season tickets to your favorite sports teams games. Break your normal routines, attend black tie affairs. If you live in Atlanta don't go to the restaurant/clubs in Buckhead. You might not run as fast as you used to when they start shooting.
Literally been doing all of this this the last 5 yrs. I turn 41 next week

Bruh, I aint never been wrong about anything in my life.
Never made a wrong turn.
Never pointed out the wrong person
Never fucked the wrong bitch
Never placed a wrong bet.
Never even looked at a person wrong.
Then Today is your unlucky day

I turned 45 this year and my shoulders hurt if I sleep the wrong way. Back aches for no reason and shit.
I have more grey hairs but still have my hairline. I can't just bust out 20 pushups like I used to just 5 years ago.
I notice my long distance eyesight isn't what it used to be.
I listen to the news and sports talk in the car most of the time.
I made peace with the fact I'm on the other side of the hill. I'm enjoying the ride down. No need in chasing young people shit.
Glad people tell me that I look great for my age.
I've lived! I'm still living! I actually feel pretty good minus my body telling me I have high mileage on the odometer.

Enjoy what time you have left. I just found out two people in my age cohort dropped dead two weeks ago and it reminds me just to think of my own mortality and take my health serious.
All FACTS

45, just grew my dreadlocks back and it feels great, I do intermittent fasting, drink almost a gallon of water a day and reduced pork to once or twice a year at most. I work out 10-12 hours a week, starting to get grey in my goatee but fuckit.

What’s brought me peace is I’m enjoying my choices and relishing in my moments with my parents, sons and sibling. I say I’m sorry if I’m wrong and express my self with out venom to the people I’m close too. I used to think I was super human the way I’d hula hoop out of shit but it cost me one of true loves.

Eating healthier and having clarity has brought me peace.

Also, I drink pedialyte or hydration IV packs to make sure my electrolytes are up.

If you're blessed and lucky, we'll all get older.

I was playing basketball a couple of weeks ago and the topic of age came up. The group I was playing with was 20 years younger and some even younger.

One of them mad a bad call and he said "Well in high school that's the rule". I said "Nigga I ain't been I. High school in a minute and this ain't high school"!

"He said "yeah I can tell". Now most people would be offended.

But I had a realization a while ago. Do you know how many people that are no longer with us would LOVE to be our age and older?

That's what I told one of the guys when he asked about age when we were first out there. I don't get down about age because so many people decades younger than me and us didn't make it here so I'm HAPPY that I'm able to be alive to be older!

I'm happy that we're all here so consider it a blessing and be happy!

Yes it make suck to lose your hair, hair turn gray or deal with aches and pains that you didn't have when you we were younger.

But do you know how many people no longer here would love to deal with those problems?

Be blessed and be happy...

Nice I was playing ball 1 year ago, dude hit me with a step back move to the side. It look like a travel fuck me up too, and it was the game winner. I was still in my MJ post up fadeaway bag . Them kids shooting straight 3’s fuck a lay up or a dunk.

I always tell them I can say I know what 45 looks like, but you don’t know if you going to even live to age 45. It kind of humbles the youth.

That's kinda negative telling dude's they might be dead before they reach 45! :roflmao:

But I get it.

The basketball plays were one, the ball bounce KD over the backboard and my teammate caught it.

It didn't hit the backboard, just went over it.

I said in the NBA that's good, that's when they hit me that they never played in the NBA but in high school:lol:

The second one was I was playing defense and they guy lost the ball. I didn't touch it, he lost it.

He hit it off the ground and started dribbling. I said if that's legal, then nobody would ever lose their dribble!

Now I might be wrong but it was just weird.

I just turned 38 and got like 5 grey hairs.
Shit sucks.
Physically I am still at my peak or peaking.
The older I get the more I yearn younger females to reinvigorate my vitality and ego.
I stay ruthlessly smashing 22-25 year olds.
Your 5 grey hairs statement made me think about a story one of my older brothers told me. Maybe this was when he turned 50 or so, but he said he was taking a shower and looked down and noticed that all his pubic hairs had turned grey!

Of course he was in shocked, and got a little depressed. However, after a minute or two, and a good rinsing off, he discovered it was just soap.

42, I don’t feel old but this back shit makes it hard not to

I feel my focus off a bit

tf man smh
Stretch man, I need to do the same on a regular basis. Also, soaking in tub with Epsom salt helps.

Spending time in nature helps me.

Sometimes I go for midnight walks with a rifle, about 2 miles.

I used to take solo beach trips, haven't been anywhere in a while. Damn I miss the beach!

by being humble and enjoying the simple things in life.. when your family good, you got roof over your head, food in the fridge, and you got money on the side, your health is pretty good pretty much everything else is like whatever.. you walk around appreciating life and with more of a smile..when you got that type of energy a lot of individuals want to be around that..in particular the opposite sex
This! I got a vegetable garden and houseplants.

Taking my time decorating my house/curating my space.

Collecting artwork

Got a hammock I need to spend more time in.

Its hard because its always something to do around the ranch. I get burned out.

45 the other side? come on bro...you in your stride now...old enough to no better but still young enough to do it...
yall cats with these aches and pains... I've said it on here before... Do some research on BP-157 and other peptides.
BPC-157?

Just another day to me just staying stress free, health and doing grandfather stuff with my grandkids. I completed my bucket list along time ago except for going to Antarctica anything now is just a bonus.

This is explains why you doing so well in the BGOL pool....you from the future

I'm over 40 and in decent shape. Play ball in a "gentleman's league" (guys over 30 mostly) a few days a week. Got a couple old heads pushing 65 plus still ballin like they 20. That's my motivation to keep in shape.
Plus getting old means I don't have to deal with the BS anymore. Think that's the best part of aging.

I don't think I am dealing with getting older very well. I am not the robust man I was a few years ago, I get aches and pains, was told by a young girl that I have a dad bod.

It sucks getting old.

Sounds like you need testosterone replacement therapy.

I require surgery

I walk with the wife every weekend

Go ahead and get the surgery if you can. I hear that when your athletic and active the recovery goes better. It ain't like we used to hear about in the 90's where if somebody hurt their knee or back, it never fully healed after surgery. You can get back to 100%

Stay active

Walk, play ball, get out in nature

Take solo trips

Surround yourself with like minded older heads and peers.
been on 2 solo trips a year or with the homies since 2017.. I dont miss out on my trips.. The BS and GF will be there when I return... still sucks to be pushing 40.. not as healthy or motivated to stay fit as i was a few years back.. I get tired faster and wake up with random aches and pains.. smh
