Luke getting cooked on Black political twitter

Except you're trying to act like this is happening in a vacuum. The majority of times when that question is asked its part of a convo where the discussion is about Black people withholding their vote. So to suddenly say Luke was "just asking a question" means I have to ignore the context of EVERY OTHER TIME that question has been asked it's been surrounding not voting.
Well said.
Debate on issues is healthy.
I understand your point of view on the subject.

I had no idea Campbell's "question" was a thing until this morning.
Because I now have Black folks all over Twitter coming after Me about it.
And that's all due to my tweeting to Denise Oliver-Velez's tweet/response.
All I stated was that folks who issues with what he asked to just hear Campbell out,
And ask him for Specifics.

And I've been called everything from a Candace Owens Lover,
To a supporter of White Supremacists.

I'm going to say this.
Many Black Folks (Young and Old) are really frustrated and getting tired of being treated like The Boogie People, A Last Minute Political Save, and a Socio-Political Albatross. By BOTH Parties.

And to treat those Black Folks who feel like Campell as dismissive and ignorant is a BIG Mistake.

I think for Luke and others like him, you have to list things out. That's why I thought the slide presentation that some dude posted on twitter was good...Using the tactics that are used in healthcare when creating health literacy, most information is written at a 6th grade level so that everyone can read it and understand it.

GUILTY!!!

Now read those responses.
Then read Mine.

Am I missing something here?
I thought I was being sensible.
And I'm very socially and politically inclined.
I'm just not overly emotional about it.

And now that I admitted to what you posted,
Should I even be worried about that shit here now?
I've been on BGOL since its inception (under a few other names).
So I guess I can get few more Twitter followers now.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. I hate when these media outlets try to make a yt woman issue a black woman issue when it is not. Also, I am all for voting the wrong mofos out of office and trying to get some new people in there with better ideas. Not leaving these 70+ year olds with their old way of thinking in office. Vote them out.
How can you vote a 70+ year old out of office when they're only putting 70+ year olds in front of you to vote for? You're basically exchanging one 70+ year old person for another.

When does this stop? How can we make it stop?

As much as people try to pretend otherwise, there are some differences between the two.

Explain please.

For sake of argument, let's say I'm a Democrat and I hate Biden/Harris policies. So I don't want to vote for them. But I do want to vote democratic, because I think the republican policies are abhorrent and I'm loyal to the party.

Now comes election day, I have to choose between say Leahy/Sanders vs Trump/Cruz. Should I just choose the Leahy/Sanders ticket because the Trump/Cruz ticket will be fucked up? Aren't both of these tickets fucked up? They are to me.

Shouldn't the democratic party present me with some viable candidates that I can get behind? I've been loyal. Shouldn't I expect loyalty, or at least "reason"? Why am I always being asked to just take one for the team... This team is trash, and the other team is garbage.

If you held my vote in your hand, along with your own vote; what would do?

The Dem party gave you your choice during the primaries. So while you may not like who won the majority of people disagreed with you.

The people with the "I didn't get my choice" take keep forgetting that there are primaries just for that reason.

So since the majority desires 70+ year olds; I'm destined to be in a fucked up position for at least how long? Forever?

FUCK THAT!!!

It sounds like the issue is that you want all or nothing. Politics doesn't work like that. If there is a candidate that you like you need to back them but if the majority isn't feeling your particular candidate then what you need to do is find a way to push the existing candidate to back policies you do like. Sometimes tho that means a compromise.

What I've noticed is that young Bernie progressives tend to think in all or nothing terms AND at the same time they don't work to form coalitions. So they're always on the outside looking in cause they don't have enough votes. That's what happens when your care more about purity than about results.

All I will say is we are seeing what people have feared for years would happen if the GOP truly got their way. We were told it was just fear mongering from the Dems to keep voting for them. Nothing changes, they're all the same etc. The fear is starting to become the reality.

Since 2016, it's become acceptable for the GOP to run openly racist campaigns and dare you to complain about it.

We can go into long discussion about what Dems could do better. All I can say is I rather deal with the worse Dem policy than the worse Repub policy at this point.

I watched Bernie get millions of young people out to vote. They were on fire for him. Then, he bowed out. I would have voted for Bernie, because I'm sick of everyone else. Now, I'm just sick of it all.

I have no confidence what so ever when it comes to American politics. I'm not brilliant, and I'm not a political scholar. But I know when I'm sick and tired. And guess what??? I'm sick and tired.

Look at this way. I'm old enough to remember hearing A LOT of GOP talking points spewed over the years. Some of the shit was nothing more than pipe dreaming (banning abortion for example). Those fools never gave up and look at where we are now.

the reverse can be said for our ancestors. We would be nowhere near where we are now if they had said fuck it and let whitey always get away with shit.

You can be tired of being sick and tired, but you can't give up. If folks in slavery found ways to keep fighting, we can surely do the same.

I feel you, Brother.

That's why I think we need our own party to look after our own interests. The Reps and Dems have proven to me that they will not take Black issues seriously; but they will expect our votes because they know presently we have no other alternatives on the table.

I agree with you on that. However, black folk would need to stay on code for that to actually be a successful endeavor. Of course, problems with a black political party become very apparent when you ask folks to define what the black code is or what it should be.

FACTS

Her responses are kind of based on symbolism more than anything else because of her reasons when it comes down to getting serious doesn't do anything. Still not protected class, still mostly symbolic gestures.... but she knows black folks are emotional and want to feel good so she does that.

A black man with an contra opinion is a threat on the internet. But it's just the internet, these people are losing in real life. Say what you want about Luther Campbell but without him going to the Supreme Court and WINNING there would be no internet. Fair Use!

dems fucked up with their nazi mandates

When you're speaking for the average black person in America 45k-70k a year a kid or not, married or not, Luke's point is very valid. The problem is our community everyone is dragged into it so it seems you guys have a point but you really don't.

Democrats is trans, gay, poor, uppity rich, educated, non educated and while the GOP is mostly just white.

For me, 95% of that shit will never apply to me, I didn't go to a HBCU, no HBCU relatives, , not gay, no trans, no kids outta wedlock. Just a man and a job.

So Luke is really correct for regular people, most everyday black men.

Joy's third point is a flat out lie!

The birth laws the repubs are trying to enact affect Yt people. You think a crakka politician cares if a black woman aborts her baby? Hell no, that is a win win in their books. They don't want Yt babies aborted, her and other news outlets as well as these dems need to stop perpetuating that lie. They know that the crakka population is dwindling an they don't want black and brown people being majority in amerikkka.

The funny thing is they having less kids when they have more freedom but somehow it's the racist GOP's fault now holding them back from having kids, like anyone can't see the hate all day and gender divide but now it's some racist cracker that's stopping them from producing with Tyrone.

Hillarious

At the end of the day, you and I both know that at some point we will see more black folk getting caught up in the system over abortions than white folks, especially if the abortion stats are believed to be true. What Joy said does have some merit.

Thank you for the information.

Nevertheless, I have seen a few articles that question the Biden Administration on what was proposed compared to what was received.

Article stating that $45 billion was proposed:

White House release stating 5.8 billion cumulative with 3.7 billion to HBCUS and 1.6 billion in debt relief.
  • Historic Support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Biden-Harris Administration has delivered an historic $5.8 billion cumulative investment in and support for HBCUs, including:
  • The ARP and other pandemic relief programs have provided approximately $3.7 billion to HBCUs since President Biden took office.
    • Additionally, in April, the Department of Education provided approximately $1.6 billion in debt relief to 45 HBCUs, including 13 public institutions and 32 private institutions.
    • In July and August, the Department of Education awarded more than $500 million in grant funding to HBCUs for academic capacity-building and fiscal stability.
    • President Biden signed an Executive Order establishing the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Opportunity, and Excellence through HBCUs, which will create a government-wide approach to support the needs of HBCUs and the communities they serve and eliminate systemic barriers impeding HBCU participation in Federal programs, and in February 2022, appointed Dietra Trent, former Virginia Deputy Secretary of Education, as the Initiative’s Executive Director.
    • During HBCU week, President Biden named Tony Allen, President of Delaware State University, as Chair of the President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs. The President has also named Glenda Glover, President of Tennessee State University as Vice Chair of the Board. The Board, established by the Carter Administration, is meant to advance the goals of the HBCU Initiative.
When you consider that in March 2022, the US government sent Ukraine $13.6 billion in aid and then an additional $40 billion in May 2022 (a total of $53.6 billion in aid within 90 days). I am sure you can see why some black people would give the Biden Administration the "side eye."
These niggas putting up bureaucratic window dressing and declaring them to be accomplishments. It's insane, as if they don’t know how these things go based on decades upon decades of experiencing these dummy agendas. The operational timelines outstripping the administration s by decades so that they never actually have to achieve success. And dems don't even have 50 votes. Stahp line!
