I'm listening to the Michael Baisden show on the way home from work today, and Michael's asking female callers to provide information about how long they've been without sex and why. A few callers have tuned in, and there is a lot of ridicule and sarcasm being thrown around the broadcast. He's even been turning the celibacy thing on women, implying that some of the women who are celibate are so because of the way they look or due to their lack of sexual skills.
Now, I feel Baisden is a female-basher anyway (yeah, I said it!). so sometimes I can't stand listening. But, it really got me thinking...some of these women may have chosen celibacy for spiritual reason, for health purposes (because STDs and HIV is rampant in our community) or for other personal reasons...
So, SOL, is celibacy such a bad thing?!? Is it something to pity women (or even men) for if they're being celibate in their life?
