iPhone 4s: Over One Million Pre-Orders in 24 hours

You can also launch a manual sync, and it doesn't required you to be plugged in to a power source.

I been fucking w/ the card app for about an hour now. Very simple concept, but genius. Imagine the impression you can make in business using the "Thank You" note and the camera pic option. Very nice.

I just tried it out.

Tried it four or five times before it finally went through. Was about to give up until tomorrow, but decided to try it one last time and the update all of a sudden started working. Took almost an hour doing the restore and then restoring the music and apps. I guess having a 64 gig Touch doesn't help.

Newstand annoys me

Has anyone tried the messenger?

not sure how the messenger works.. the pic sync doesn't work with videos smh.. split key board is dope. on screen notification is old news had it for a while (jailbreak) find my iphone is dope(first time user).. i might have to download that say cheese app to work with the find my iphone app.. hmm whats else? can we get some more comments about this new update guys?? oh yeah the new safari tab bar were long over due.. smh.. apple are really some assholes coming with all this upgrades that other phones already had last year or even further back.. im done being a sheep but i still love my iphone:smh:

I just tested iMessage. If the person has an iPhone running iOS 5 you sent them a text to their mobile number to email address and it send it over wifi as a text message. Free. It also gives you a delivery notification. In the window, you know it's using iMessage because it shows it in the text window.

yo D should I do a lion clean install or upgrade. My time machine backup is on a external hard drive

When Lion was first released I did a clean install. If I had to do it over again, I'd do the upgrade. It was pain reinstalling all of my software and changing the settings/preferences to how I like them. All of the paid software I owned, I had to search for product keys to reinstall them. If you don't mind doing all of theta, go for then the clean install is ok.

What the real benefit of a clean install? Btw I keep all of my sn together

You didn't really need to do all that. There is a Hackintosh installation shell script that tricks /usr/sbin/asr (Apple Software Restore) into believing all your software is legit and bypasses authentication.

Except with the free txt apps the end user had to accept the text before you could have a convo. With iMessage it is seamless.

If your on free wifi, doesn't that mean your texts can be seen since its insecure? If someone gets into your wifi.....

U.S. Apple Stores are pulling overnight shifts to put up new displays and promo materials for the iPhone 4S launch. @ifostore is standing in line and shot the above photo where the staff is exchanging old iPhone 4 models with the new iPhone 4S.

Meanwhile, other parts of the world have already seen the iPhone 4S launch, and to massive crowds. Smh.com.au has a running update of the launch in Australia. Even 4 hours after the launch, the line to the Sydney store was described as "appalling" going half way down King Street.

The Japanese launch was hampered by registration slowdowns from Softbank, according to the Wall Street Journal:
The launch of the iPhone 4S in Japan was interrupted when Softbank – the main service provider for Apple products in the country—suffered a server glitch that temporarily suspended sales nationwide. A company spokesman said the servers were unable to process registration information.
Analysts are predicting weekend sales to top that of the iPhone 4 which sold 1.7 million units its opening weekend. Estimates range from 2 million to as high as 4 million.

In the U.S., Apple Stores will be opening at 8 a.m. local time to launch the iPhone 4S. Additionally, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint stores will also be stocking the new device, but those retailers tend to get fewer units per store than Apple's stores. Gizmodo also notes that Radio Shack, Best Buy, Target and Sam's Club may have units, but your mileage may vary.

Just passed the Sprint store and there's a line at the store for this phone.

I'm beginning to wonder if Jobs faked his death.
