How would you respond if a guy you used to know changed gender identity?

This is a BGOL topic. Trans and LGBT threads generate more activity than most-- I would not be surprised if it is the most replied to topic when it is posted.

I would've thought this thread would've died a long time ago but y'all won't let it. Threads about policy affecting black people? Off the radar in hours. Put LGBT in the title? Stays on the front page.

It says something about y'all that you are so bothered but also so compelled to discuss. (I still don't even know what the deal is with Malik Yoba and would never even associate him with this if not for BGOL's obsession.)
Posting pics and talking shit. I think you know which one causes the thread to stay around. But then if no one even went into the thread and ignored them you would come back and say that we ignore those issues completely just to talk about bullshit. Can't win either way. This is the wrong place to have an honest debate on this subject. Know your audience. I wouldn't go to Stormfront saying R.I.P. Elijah Cummings.

That's fucked up and should be condemned by every trans person.
Nah, that's my whole argument with these folks. You mention shit like this and they say:

A) Well there's nothing wrong with it. He liked it
B) I'm a woman just like any other woman...
C) He should have known

That whole shit is victim-blaming rape culture if you think about it

If you're a dude and that happens to you, you're fucked. If you fight him, your Natural reaction, you get charged with a hate crime when it's a natural reaction to being violated.

Mentally, I'm assuming it fucks you up. Old girl said her father was in therapy because of it, an understandably so. He was raped, but they don't want to call it what it really is...rape

If I fuck a woman under false pretenses, some lawyer can make up a rape charge out of that. If a transgender is really proud about being transgender and has the charisma to be able to get a straight guy to fuck them...be up front about it. This conversation sparks my interest in the stats for transgender assaults. If someone just walks up to a transgender person and starts beating them, that's fucked up and is straight up assault. Now I'm wondering how many of these incidents are that, and how many are some dude that freaked out when he wasn't informed that the person he had sex with was trans.

I recently moved back to a city I used to live in and have been reconnecting with folks this month.

I was talking with an old friend today and he asked me who from our circle I've talked with since I've been back. I named a few people and then I got to one guy who we can call Bill for discussion's sake.

"And I was with ____ at ____, ran into and Bill was there so I chatted with him a bit."

"Oh you mean her. It's her now, just so you don't get shit for it like I did."

This was a real surprise. I've had a lesbian friend transition to male, with testosterone shots and the whole package. This friend (who was a heterosexual to the best of my knowledge) clearly looks like a dude now.

However, this person who I was informed is now a "her" looks exactly the same as three years ago! Hair is longer, that's the only change.

I try to respect people's preferences but I find it harder with people I knew pre-transformation, especially in a case like this where there has been no visible change. For the rest of the discussion, I just avoided using pronouns and used Bill's name instead. "Oh, that's wild. I couldn't tell by looking at Bill." It's a lot weirder when the person doesn't even look like the gender he/she wants to go by.

Not surprised judging by your love for the democrats... I pictured you one of them suburan brothas who all clicked into all that liberal nonsense and I was right. No straight brotha who came from nothing knows any trannies nigga.

If you do a stealth condom removal when fucking a woman...that's rape because she only consented to protected sex.

I'm straight, grew up in north philly, and I know 3 transgender people. We're not best friends, but i worked with someone that transitioned when i was in college, and the other two I know from acting/theater connections. They're nice people and i have no issues with them. I'd rather know someone i could get firsthand knowledge from rather than just live in ignorance and let the TV shape my views. You know how the media does to us, and some cac from Montana thinks all black people act the same because the TV show told them so.

This stat can never be calculated. How many men are raped in jail? You'll never know because most men are too embarrassed to report it.

The same for men who were tricked by trans women who they thought were women and it turns out they weren't. Ain't no man gonna report that shit.

On St. Clair in 1994, on 107th to be specific, a trans woman got thrown out of a window.

The trans went home with a dude, gave the dude head and THEN the dude found out the trans was not a real woman...and he was PISSED.

He threw it out of a window as he went to get his gun

When he got outside where he threw the trans, the trans was gone.

That's just one of a few instances I've heard where the Trans Trick Game was pulled where the trans got beat up because they tricked the guy

It ain't charisma. I don't know if it's the low light in clubs or the dude is happy his 'game' worked and took the trans home, got head and then found out the 'game' was run on him.

I think it's fucked up, and it should be rape. This ain't like bringing a rented BMW or Maserati to the club to pick up a broad when you really have a 2003 Honda Civic at him.

We're talking about the mental and psychological ramifications of a straight man finding out he got a BJ from a man he thought was a woman. That's rape

And fuck yeah the stealth condom removal is rape. Fuck yeah.

I love raw like any man, but I don't want to get AIDS or herpes. I'd fuck someone up, for real

Was that trans person a werewolf? I'm sorry, I just find hilarity in that story.
That was the story my classmate Ricardo told me that. I can't confirm it, but that was the story floating around St. Clair in 1994

I'm just playing man just that OP comes off as a highly emasculated liberal that is the type to hang out with gays and do all that other stuff, wasn't a shot at you or anyone else but dudes post just kinda rub me the wrong way, too much thinking and all this other crap when we should be fighting... he comes off like a van jones or a dude like him, everything is a conversation and all this "open-minded" stuff... I'm good.

Nothing against you at all, I know dudes who know gays and they cool but even with gays some of them are cool as hell and don't push themselves on others nor their views and some of them act up a storm trying to gain attention.
