HBO's True Detective Premiers tonight

And y'all gonna make me stopping reading this thread because y'all on to something and I'm not trying spoil the suspense lol
Yeah, I'm purposely playing dumb and not reading into anything because I don't want to spoil it for myself. This is so good. The writing is just on point and the acting is sublime. I'm going to have to watch it again to see all the shit y'all are talkin about that I'm not trying to see

Just watched the whole season with my girl, who has a penchant for falling asleep, actually paid attention. I saw things I missed, especially with closed captioning.

This nigga wife is super suspect. And it still hasn't been said as to how she died.
Man, my girl is over here, now that she's seen it, going online and looking at theories. I had to tell her to shut the fuck up cuz I don't want to hear no goddamn theories, lol.

Is like those motherfukers watching, "Next week on..." I don't watch that shit. I don't want any fucking spoilers. I'm over here playing dumb than a motherfucker because I don't want to hear any goddamn theories... Even though the wife seems suspect ass-fuck

The pink rooms man....i was low key hoping they wouldnt show what was in that room...glad they cut the scene when they did.
Tom's a dumbass stumblin into that rich freaks house like that
I swear, he entered that room, that house as if he was in there by himself. He didn't turn around and look behind and once... Like an idiot

Holy shit that episode.

That last scene creeped me the fuck out:scared:. Felt like I need to turn some lights on in the house.

This has got to be the best written show on television right now. So much going on and then those quiet character moments always ring true. That scene where 70 year old Wayne was out back of the house talking to his son "I was never a fearful man... ya'll made me a coward the day you were born" -- some of the realest shit I've seen in a while.

It was real obvious the son was dealing with the snowbunny just based upon how emotional their interactions were..

and yes this was a very creepy episode... Knew that ex cop was on some other shit especially when he mentioned Wayne's physique

I love how that whole scene was handled. You could tell son's guilt was weighing on him and he was just waiting for the old man to unload on him, or at least tell him how disappointed he was in him. Pops wasn't judgmental at all. He was just like keep yo mouth shut.

Right. That shit just came up out of nowhere.

"I don't eat doughnuts."

"Yeah, I can tell..." :smh:

That look on Wayne's face when he hit him with that line, like he had to stop himself from fucking ole boy up. He almost forgot where he was for a minute. :roflmao:

Said all of the good parents everywhere

This has been said by so many different parents I've known in so many different ways. "I've never been as scared, as terrified in my life as I have since I had kids."

Exactly. This was like word to the wise. If you've ever cheated on your girl and you've already cut the sidepiece off, ain't no need telling your girl about it to make yourself feel better and make her feel worse.

Man, the writing in this show is a level I aspire to reach

I don’t think I’ve been scared

Now I had moments were I was then it passed but to be changed, na.

OK, so I got questions after seeing that shit...

  • Was Hays really having a dementia moment with Roland, or was he faking it? If he was faking, why?
  • Was there really not a dark sedan parked outside, or was Roland lying? If so, why?
  • Is that landscaper dude the same kid from childhood that was friends with Julie? They got the same last name, and the camera paid a bit too much attention to him for him to just be some rando.
  • Who all is gay? Cause every dude is starting to look suspect.
  • Are Hays and Roland the reason the former cop/head of security Harris James turns up missing? Is that what Hays did that's got Roland so pissed after all these years?
  • Did Hays solve this case already and forget? If so, was it the dementia or did he block it out because it was too traumatic?
  • Is this Yondu (see photo)? Cause it looks a lot like Yondu. Is Yondu Hoyt? (Edit: This one just got confirmed. It IS Michael Rooker)

  • Was that girl that Amelia was talking to actually Julie and just lying about it?
  • What's the deal with the fat chick? Why does she stick to Lucy like white on rice? How is she really involved in this?
  • What exactly did O'Brian tell Thomas that led him to the pink room? In fact, how the hell does O'Brian know so much in the first place?
  • Is it me, or did Amelia look real guilty when Hays asked her what that smell was last episode? She's been doing a lot of suspect things so far. She finds out all this new info about Julie's possible whereabouts and doesn't even bother to tell her lead detective husband. Then she doesn't even seem to be bothered one bit when dead eye dude was yelling at her at the bookstore. She definitely got secrets.

All great questions. Only two weeks left. My girl bought me HBO just so we wouldn't have to wait 24 hours to watch the show on the Prime app

All these questions are answered and pretty much analyzed on Reddit. Just put in Google "Reddit True detective season 3 episode 6"

But yes I think the main (or one of the main) climax is that Hays is faking his Dementia when he feels its neccessary.

One more question, why do they keep zooming in on the food that Dan was eating in the restaurant. They showed it three times and zoomed in twice at the end.

I know everything means something but I don't understand how that could mean something

Good question. It may not mean anything just part of the dramatic feel. Or maybe it's a reference to eggs in which Roland was feeding his dogs but that's a far fetch

This season is dope with a lot of good acting

So did Hays and Roland kill the cousin or hid him?

Tom and Roland might have had something.

The son is fuckin the white bitch :smh:

You couldn't tell that when Hays stopped by unexpected and saw the two glasses and then he asked if she was alone...and he gave that yeah right look

Hays and Roland definitely killed the ex-cop. I think Tom fucked up the investigation by going out on his own. If they could have got the name from the cousin then they could have uncovered everything. So somehow the real killer gets off but they handle it together is what I think.

Man, caught up on this recently... riveting stuff. The acting is off the chain (that scene as old men on the porch -- that's an Emmy, the one with Hayes reaching out to his son? That's a damn Emmy too haha). The show runner has this way of setting a mood that you don't see often... can't wait for the next episide.
