The case is for thrills
While it's literally haunting him
this shit is going by too fast. Normally, especially with network TV, seasons drag on way too long. Shit just meanders while producers try to find away to stretch 7-8 episodes of material into 20. This is one of the few shows on that I think actually deserves 20-24 episodes.
The entire world is just so fully realized, I don't want it to end, especially with this anthology format.
20 would be too long for this show it would end up feeling like those shows that drag on too long.
If they could get 10-12 that would be just right.
But 8 is enough.
I'm expecting to see some big shit going down these next few episodes.

And I just gotta say Mr. Ali is a cool dude. I met him a few years back at my old job and I was like “yo, you look familiar aren’t you an actor?”
This was the time his season of Luke Cage had come out but i couldn’t remember his name and he just said “lol yea I am” then I asked him to name something I’d seen him in and he was like “ahh man you gonna make me sound like a jerk lol” real cool down to earth cat. Even showed love on IG. That old man scene was some of the most powerful acting I’ve seen. They both did great
Think I figured out what he did. The white girl handed him the photo of the cop that went missing and he didn't remember. When the ghosts of vienam were in the room there was a white man in there too. I think he killed that cop. I think he had to kill him because him or his partner killed the girls dad. See how they was lookin at him when they listened to her phone call?

That old men scene felt natural asf some of the best acting on tv in a while. Great dialogue from both characters. I expect Ali and Dorff to be nominated for best acting.

IDK...just guessin. I figure Ali killed the officer cuz the ghost was in his room. Dourf might've killed the girls father...the way they were lookin at him in the room on the phone...lol. I'm like damn they goin off that bitch, she could be the fuckin kidnapper just playin wit they asses. I think Dourf character pissed because they were keepin that secret and ole boy never talked to him again. I think Dourf helped him cover up the murder of that cop tho.

Yeah something like that but the way dourf said on the porch "Like killing a man?!...I think dourf covered for him...could be wrong but the white man in the room with the ghosts makes me think Hayes killed him. It's gotta be something along those lines or what you describing as well because I think they in it together but dourf doesn't know hayes lost memory so he's pissed about hayes not ever reaching out after whateva they did those years back. The daughter of Hayes might know some shit too.
The way he reacted when he found out she told the white detective she was divorced just came off as trust issues beyond just the work aspect.

I normally hate long television series. My favorite series these days chime in right around that 10-12 ep. mark, but there are a lot of story threads hanging out there to be sown up in three episodes and reach a satisfying conclusion. The first 5 have felt like an introduction, like the first act. And they don't bring the same cast back so this last three is it.

I used to think Matthew McConaughey was just a pretty motherfuker they put in front of a camera because he was a pretty motherfuker. This show is really good and I don't haven't figured out who did it yet, and I'm not really trying to. I only try to figure out the story of shows I watch when the writing is bad. The writing on this show is really good.

Maybe they didn't kill the dad but the ghost of the white man in his room makes me think hayes killed that cop back in 90 and he can't remember. Could also be wrong about that and the white ghost wind up being the dead uncle of the kids they find in the quarry. Just gotta wait and see....
True Detective is what TV looks like when it’s done right. So many other shows and networks could learn from it. Props to the 6-13 episode seasons of shows that aren’t watered down programming like many other shows on
