HBO's True Detective Premiers tonight

One of the Bald Move podcast cohosts said that this movie from the True Detective director is quite good ...

Issa Laura López Lozano is a Mexican producer, writer and film director. Eleven Spanish language features have been produced from her scripts, four of them directed by herself. She has won several literary awards, including the National Novel Award granted by Mexico's Institute of Fine Arts and Literature in 2007.[1]

In 2017, Tigers Are Not Afraid (Vuelven in Spanish) premiered at Fantastic Fest, in Austin, Texas. Written and directed by López, the film received the Best Horror Director Award, and went on to collect fifty-one awards in film festivals around the world, three Diosas de Plata, including Best Picture and Best Director, and received ten Ariel Awards nominations, of which it won two. The film earned multiple positive reviews by major trades and critics, and a rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, López is developing projects with Guillermo del Toro, Noah Hawley and Jason Blum. She directed and co-wrote all episodes of the fourth installment of HBO's TV series True Detective, which will air in January 2024, as True Detective: Night Country.

Hank and you're a cop :smh:

Danvers has fucked the whole town

I liked the second episode better than the first

So they're just not going to explain the moving body

I liked the first two but..
A couple reviewers who saw all six episodes, said these middle two would be slow

That what it feels like.
Filler.
Can't think of anything that moved the story much.
Anyway
the last two episodes, should pick up again

Episode 3, they kinda hint at the Danvers/Navarro conflict that led to Navarro leaving the force (all brought up Episode 1.)
But looks like they're gonna drag that answer out until next episode.
Should've resolved that with the whistling dude in the chair.
Right then and now show the viewers what happened.
But, no. Next week :dunno:

Looks like a Four episode series, that's stretched out to Six.

The dude they noticed missing last episode, they should've found him in this one or the end of Episode 3.

Navarro doesn't look bad to me, but she seems like a dyke

Tonight's episode 4, was the last of the filler episodes.
Was told from reviewers who saw an advance copy of the entire season,
the show should pick up next week
But these middle episodes were filler.

Almost went thru two full episodes without talking about Clark.
Ya know the supposed killer of the six guys that started the series.
The Clark stuff was thrown in at the very end.
Passing on the main storyline AGAIN for all these side missions.
(Danvers daughter/foreign bride scam/relation w/ exsheriff/jump scares w/Navarro/sister death)

I didn't get the ending, but hopefully will start answering questions next week.

Still need to explain Danvers/Navarro split and why she left the force
The whistler in the chair, what happened. She said they found him dead.
Or the one eyed Polar bear.
