Gangster Squad Official Trailer #1 (2012) Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling

:yes::yes:

I thought Sean Penn was playing Bugsy Seigel at first, glad they're going in a different direction.

Kinda surprised they would have a black dude in it period, at least as part of the "team". Seems far-fetched.

i was with it right up until the hov kicked in....

rap in the 40's ?

HOVI'S HOME!!!

Jay Z has to be on the soundtrack of all gangster movies post 2009, it's in his contract with the Illuminati. But Sean Penn = WIN. He's 1 of those actors that you just know anything he's apart of is going to be interesting. Him Ed Norton, totally respectable.

Untouchables 2012...

Looks good, ever since I saw Chinatown and later saw and read LA Confidential, I've been saying they really need to make more movies about that era, and they really needed to do one about Mickey Cohen. Mullholland Falls was disappointing, but it looks like they're really going to show how far the rednecks and LAPD went trying to keep control of LA from falling into the hands of the jewish and italian gangsters - I hope it also shows how badly they failed.

looks like i offended some jay-z fans

it ain't that serious.

that shit just didn't fit the trailer. it went from a cool trailer to a parody..

 Oh great a movie with two guys who like to mumble their words and you can barely hear them on the big screen

Meyer Harris "Mickey" Cohen (September 4, 1913 – July 29, 1976) was a gangster based in Los Angeles and part of the Jewish Mafia, and also had strong ties to the American Mafia from the 1930s through 1960s.

As a teenager, Cohen began boxing in illegal prizefights in Los Angeles. He eventually moved to the East Coast to train as a professional boxer, doing fights in the Midwest along the way. His first professional boxing match was on April 8, 1930 against Patsy Farr in Cleveland, Ohio. This was one of the preliminary fights on the card for the Paul Pirrone/Jimmy Goodrich feature event. On April 11, 1933 he fought against Chalky Wright in Los Angeles, California. Wright won the match and Meyer was incorrectly identified as "Mickey Cohen from Denver, Colorado" in the Los Angeles Times sports page report. His last fight was on on May 14, 1933 against Baby Arizmendi in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. On June 12, 1931 Cohen fought and lost a match against World Featherweight Champion Tommy Paul, having been knocked out cold after 2:20 into the first round. It was during this round he earned the moniker "Gangster Mickey Cohen". Cohen lived first in Cleveland, where he met Lou Rothkopf, an associate of Moe Dalitz. Cohen moved later to New York, where he became associates with Tommy Dioguardi, the brother of labor racketeer Johnny Dio, and with Owney Madden. Finally, Cohen went to Chicago, where he ran a gambling operation for the Chicago Outfit, Al Capone's powerful criminal organization.

Black Men are not in many movies period these days, so why expect them in this one. Side Note: They was wettin up the whole damn movie theater!

No doubt, props to Anthony for getting the role but I'm just questioning the presence of a black cop on a elite task force during the 40's-50's for one of the most racist police forces in the US (then and now).

But I'm not complaining, a white actor always seems to find a way into a movie despite it being historically convenient.

Just did a little research. Not so far fetched after all.

Mackie will portray former LAPD lieutenant Rocky Washington.

Roscoe “Rocky” Washington, the Department’s first African-American lieutenant watch commander, and Earl C. Broady, also an African-American lieutenant. Washington received his promotion in 1940 at Newton Street Division which was located in the heart of Los Angeles. Although the Department was segregated during this time, many who were predominantly White were also assigned to Newton Street Division. Washington’s new position posed a dilemma for the Department: should an African-American man have authority over White officers?

Washington made history again in 1949 when he became the first African-American watch commander to oversee White officers.
