I think Ned is the true hero of the series. Not only did he die to protect his family, he also literally chose to lie to his own WIFE to protect his nephew, choosing to rather endure her shame and let her believe something that would make her hate him more the rest of her life to protect his nephew -- "the last Targaryen" (who was being protected from Ned's best friend Robert) as well as someone who is the son of the heir of the Iron Throne. Protecting Jon when he did ended up having world-saving results and for all of these reasons I think Ned should be considered the greatest hero in the story. His sacrifice literally led to the events that secured the fate of the entire world, well, Westeros anyway.
Here's the answer: The Night King was portrayed by Richard Brake in "Oathkeeper" and "Hardhome" and by professional stunt performer Vladimir Furdik from "The Door" onward. Furdik, sans prosthetics, also plays the Night King prior to his transformation in "The Door".
How long you think? I’m thinking an hour

^^^This... but after all these years of seeing how Game of Thrones gets down... I predict the ‘whole battle’ not take place in 1 single episode.
It will probably go about 20 minutes in one episode... end with a CRAZY cliffhanger... then pick right back up, right smack “in the middle of the action” in the very next episode.
With EVEN MORE spectacular stuff happening.
Unless it’s the very last episode of the whole series, that is. If it was the very last episode... then I could see it all happening in a single episode.![]()
Ok, well true.. I forgot about this.. I was thinking that they were gonna leave it as a Cliffhanger... in such a way that EITHER lets the viewers "paint their own picture" of the aftermath... OR for future Spinoffs & Prequel shows to address... so they could get some more tv shows out of it. Mainly because I keep thinking about the quote...Only reason I don't think it'll be the last is because thrones allows us to pick up the pieces after the battles
So I can see however it turns out we can see how life will be after the battle and then end it
