Far as darkmeat and Mak go - Yea you are entitled to your opinion and the N1 is a droid phone but even if I do get a MotoRoi im not gonna compare it to anything else cause it is what it is. And you completely missed my point of what this thread is about. The past 2 or 3 pages has been nothing but a debate and all im saying is that can we get back to what the point of this thread was about. Whens the last time anyone posted some apps, news on a new phone, had a rooting problem etc etc.
Take it how you want to, either im complaining or telling the truth. Im just putting it out there...this thread isnt about a N1 or Moto...its about the OS which is android...not what phone can do what

First of all props to Zei and Dro,
This will be my only review of the Nexus in this thread. The good thing is since we all have Androids, its all good, we can post apps that pretty much all will be able to use from the G1, Nexus and all androids in between. So if anybody has any cool apps that they'd like to review/recommend post it. I will be posting some apps soon.
I'm very impressed with the nexus, the shyt is fast, no lagging, all apps run fast and smooth, 3g has been pretty good to me, BUT, TMOBILE DOES NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR FKN 3G COVERAGE, but it does seem like I have 3g more now. I love the screen, but it's all about the speed, it's great! The good thing for g1 and mytouch users is.....since its all Android, pretty much all apps that's on the Nexus, it can be used on all the other Android phones, so there's not a class gap with apps/features especially if you have a rooted G1. The Nexus isn't a must, infact very few Androids will be a must if you aren't intrigue'd be speed, space, and better graphics. I say that because with rooting your phone you'll have access to most of the features and options of every new Android the comes out, but me personally I wanted a new toy, I wanted that larger screen and faster speed. Back to my review, I like the fact that the screen is bigger so everything is more clear and vibrant. The live wallpaper is dope, the phone is dope and like the g1 it's just gonna get better. Its capable of so much, that we will soon see through updates and rooting!
You can root now. Saw someone had done it elsewhere but he said it took 2 hours and now he can wifi tether- he said it is more difficult than the droid but worth it.
DISLIKES, ummmmmm I'm still getting use to this no keyboard thing, I think i'll get use to it soon, but right now my texts have slowed down. Is there any keyboard that will give me more finger space? Also I don't like when i'm texting, I have to hit the 123 key for comma, question mark, @, etc...Hold down a symbol key for more symbols - aka period also has comma and other symbols or just do speech to text. that's too many important punctuations that are used in most sentences that I have to go to another screen for............I'M SORRY BUT DARKMEAT, MAK, AFRO, ANYBODY TELL ME HOW TO STOP THIS FKN UNLOCK THING EVERYTIME I WAKE THE PHONE UP??? Turn off lock in the settings - hold down the second button from the left and go to settings location and security- i have it on unlock pattern and the shit is dope or you can turn the screen timeout to 30 minutes or somethingI thought it was aggravating on the g1 to have to wake the phone up then press menu twice but I hate this slide thing even more, because it doesn't slide right all the time. I also dislike the fact that they changed the charger, so the car charger that plugs into the usb on my radio now wont work with the nexus, i know it comes with 1, but i had 1 in both my cars and 1 plugged into my computer, so now i'm gonna have to buy 2 extra adapters for the nexus since the one for my g1 wont fit in the nexus. Other than those mild complaints I really like the phone.
I had a microusb charger I bought for my pre for $5 (motorola) and it works for the N1. Plus I have a dual usb car charger so Im cool there - that was 5 bucks too
multi touch is nice, also u know u can long press the home button and u can go back to the last 6 apps u opened.
congrats Mak, glad to see u like it, yeah it looks like they fixed all those bugs I was reading about pretty quick because everything is going smooth here.
Also some mentioned protectors, the best I saw was on a youtube review, the guy showed off his silicon case, they seem better than those hard cases because hard cases add to the bulkyness of the phone, it just brings back bad memories of when i had my tmobile Wing, lol. But, those silicon cases seem nice, thin, and they work! So sometime this week I need to get a silicon case, screen protector and dash mount! I should be good to go then, this phone is way smaller and thiner than i ever thought. This shyt my be thinner than the razr i use to have. I'm so scared of dropping this shyt, I have to get a case and screen protector asap.
That's all I have to say about the Nexus, unless I have a question or answering type stuff. This is an Android community so we can all use pretty much the same apps, also if anybody decides to root, let us know, I don't plan on rooting for a while, unless rooting has flash or something, Agent Creed did you ever root your Droid?
nah i never rooted. had no need. once i get the 2.1 update i'm good. plus the nexus launcher was ripped so i can install it once i get official 2.1 and get the 5 screens and the drawer. another thing this is 2.1 update 1 from droid users we're getting another update. im good my phone does all i need.
First of all props to Zei and Dro, them brothers helped me out a lot with my G1, so we're down 4ever or unless they ever decide to make an ock thread on me![]()
Myriad's new Dalvik Turbo virtual machine increases Android application performance threefold
Today European software company Myriad Group AG announced its new Dalvik Turbo virtual machine software for Android phones; it allows applications to execute faster without sacrificing memory.
Dalvik Turbo virtual machine replaces the Dalvik virtual machine, which is part of the Android SDK. Myriad says that Dalvik Turbo will allow applications to run three times faster without consuming more system memory. That means developers can create richer, more complex applications. The Dalvik Turbo VM will also help conserve battery life and will allow for richer graphics.
The company will be showing its technology off at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. Stay tuned for our coverage from the show floor.
Damn, me and dro the last of the BROKE mohicans
*off to make Royal ock thread* *bum ass aint even offer me and dro loot to get one*
its all good bro. Congrats
Forgive me for getting upset. After a while I just get tired of hearing about how great a phone/anything is. Its like we get the point now can we move on to the next.
Truth is that im hating on yall cause im broke that a mug...stuck on my G1 until I get save some money and get a better phone. Yall N1 niggas make me sick
Nah, im happy for you guys who got a better phone and get to partake in something as big as the Nexus. Live N1 support just went up yesterday so thats a good thing.
But for us G1 users...this looks like a good thing
Man Im just holding out and waiting to see what is gonna happen with the Motoroi. I could get the Nexus but I dont wanna be regretful in a month. Its not like its going anywhere or the price will increase, so Imma just be patient. I installed that 2.1 ROM but I had to go back to 1.6.. some of my fav widgets werent too friendly with 2.1.

Zei it's all good. N1 live support went up yesterday? That's great news!!! I'ma bout to call them bitches now off GP!!!
N1 guys, are any of you gonna root or already rooted? I've read articles of overclocking the nexus up to over a 1000MGz
I'm not gonna root anytime soon. IMO, the I would root my phone is for the appz. I'm able to download and install paid appz for free without the root. At this point in time I really don't see the point in rooting the N1.
Well cyan and other have rooted the joint since it came out so thats why I asked. And you couldnt install paid apps b4 hand?
When I had the MT3G I wasn't able too. I would get a force close every time I attempted to open a paid app. I had to root cuz I don't like paying for shit I know I can get for free. However, for some reason it works on the N1 without rooting.
Go figure!!!![]()
Nexus Screen Protectors:
I did a little research on screen protector and a lot of people were saying the same thing. There's a possibility the screen protector will confuse the proximity sensor. I bought the Seidio Screen Protector and it's as smooth a butter. It's cheap, looks and feels as if there isn't a protector on the phone, and the does not interfere with the proximity sensor.
Micro USB Adapter:
If you ever need to buy ANY type of cable, adapter, or cord go to Monoprice.com first. I bought four 3 foot micro usb cables for $1.13 a piece Link.
I hope this helps!!!
If i get a N1 of of craiglist can i use it without changing my plan and get the ota updates?
Props for the info on the screen protectors...
I'm looking for a free app that lets me lock certain pics, so when people look thru my photos certain pics won't get shown... any ideas
I dont know if anyone else is up on it yet, but check out Flyscreen. its a free app in the market that actually makes your lockscreen more useful by adding weather, sms, gmail, news and other widgets.. kinda hot.
I don't know how this slipped by me but good F ing look!! How the hell is this free??!!!
