I know it sounds crazy but if you buy it unlocked you'll save more money over two years.
If you can't find it in Atlanta for $400 you should look in surrounding cities. I live about 150 miles from Richmond and 250 miles from Virginia Beach. I was willing to make a day trip to get the phone for a good price.
I see where darkmeat is coming from. If you feel that you will keep the phone for 2 years and will be ok with the plan than do it. I am not sure if you if said that someone was willing to sell it for 480 and you only have 450, if that is the case find a way to get the extra 30.

To me the plan is decent so im gonna get a good insurance plan from squaredeal(squaretrade?) for $79 then when Im done with the phone smash it and get my $479 and buy a new phone 11 months from now.
So Mak your saying I can buy this phone from say the google site, upgrade to that unlimited everything which I believe is $99? Then become a AAA member and get a 50% discount??? I'm waiting for you to let me know if it works, i'll go ahead and purchase it locked if I can get that 15% discount, how much does a year of AAA cost? Are you sure they'll give the 15% discount with the Nexus plan? 1 other question, if i get the phone locked, that doesn't mean I have to keep this phone for 2 years right, it just means I have to stay with tmobile for 2 years, right?

The HTC Incredible, a leaked cellphone code name that first made the rounds back in December, is the real deal, as seen in these sneak peak pics from Pocket Now. Can you say brown? You'll see:
Very original Zune coloring, no? Lots of contours and wacky shapes going on in the rear too.
There are some specs to go along with the leak, those being an Android 2.1 OS with HTC Sense, running on a Snapdragon CPU. A rumored 256MB of RAM accompanies a roughly 3.5-3.7" WVGA screen (possibly AMOLED? That's unconfirmed).
Dual LED flashes adorn the brownish backplate, and an optical mouse pointer resides down near the bottom.

okay let me clear this up
AAA has a 15% plan discount and a no activation charge discount ($35 value - ive also read the discount is 13% and 14%) There are corporate discounts that are supposed to be 25%. I need to read up and check if anyone has had this applied after starting tmo service with a nexus one.
Im going to try to get these- they should work from calling up Tmo after my phone arrives
A year of AAA is like $42. If you can get the discount from TMO its definitely worth it plus you get free tow service and hotel discounts etc.
The phone is unlocked period. The $179 option is the same phone as the $529 - the $179 just comes with a tmo sim card acvtivated and you get a phone number emailed to you.
You can throw in a ATT sim card right away if u wanted.
The $179 price goes with the 2 year tmo contract.
Yes you do not have to keep the phone. You can sell it right away and use another phone and pocket the difference if you want.
You might not be able to apply any discounts once service is established but that doesn't make too much sense to me.

As Afrohispanic stated earlier in this thread, I don't see anything else dropping that's going to match the Nexus One this year. I could be wrong, however if something better drops that's the phone I will have. This Incredible piece of shit isn't it!!!

This shit is fuckin dope. Response time is stupid. Interface is flawless. Clean transitions to every app and out of every app. App market is fast as fuck even with spotty wifi in parts of my crib.

The hardware is fantastic. Form factor is perfect. Build quality is perfect. This makes the iPhone look like trash.
Just called customer service to change how my caller id is presented - no long hold times and the chick was fantastic - Sprint's retention level customer service is Tmobile's level 1.
I lub tmobile. Unless they really piss me off Im gonna be here awhile.

It's pricey but worth it. Some of my needed apps are Automatic Task Killer or just the regular task killer, both do the job and help battery life. Astro File Manager, AK Notepad, and blue tooth file transfer and some of my other apps. Check out your IM. I sent you some info that will help you get Docs to go for free along with a wrack of games like raging thunder, home battle 3d, beautiful widgets, pure calendar, Armageddon and more.

I don't see any harm with any thing that has been posted long as the forum stay on topic with Android and what it has to offer. If you wanna get the Nexus One or MotoRoi by all means do you. We are all entitled to our opinions, and I look forward to hearing yours and anyone else who decides to contribute to this thread.
Man..... there is a Car Home app and it is just a huge bar with large icons that basically help you select stuff while driving - perfect for setting the phone in a dash or console mounted dock - hit voice search then just say "navigate to beverly center" shit will go into google maps navigation mode with voice directions and plot your course to LA from wherever. Call people the same way.
This fuckin thing has like 30 ringtones stock and they aint garbage either
I just started messing with the live wallpapers which are cool as hell too. The display quality is dope too.
Just got about a gig worth of games and apps too. Its wide open winmo style. No need for rooting to get apps to work. No need for jailbreaking.
