Your understanding of gravity's role in the moons orbit is flawed.
Is not exactly the moons gravity that causes tides. Think of the earth as a cooler full of water. If you tie a string to the handle of that cooler and pull it, unless you did it impossibly slowly, water will slosh up the opposite side. That's how the moon pulls at earth (actually they both pull at each other). The moving water is ocean tides...water displaced by gravity induced movement of interconnected oceans.
Lakes and rivers are not connected to this system, strictly speaking. Even still, tidal action occurs in these bodies but is so little it is virtually immeasurable. That plus there are too many other variables in these bodies to test accurately anyway.

The distance and size of the sun at 92 million miles won't produce crepuscular rays. The rays would be parallel.
Refraction won't either. The rays would converge to a point on the ground.

But lets say they're right, on a planet that's millions of years old in all these years no one has thought to explore its other side? But we'll explore other planets. We've sent probes millions of miles away even to other galaxies, yet no one has thought to look at the flip side of our planet. I want to know what's on the other side!

I know there's a point of convergence any and everywhere, but because of the supposed size of the sun, you would get parallel rays. I'll post a diagram later.
The sun and moon are the same size. In order to justify the ball earth, they tell you the moon is 184,000 miles away while the sun is 92 million miles away. It's bs.
