Nope cause ppl wanted to see avengers too
All this does is get the ppl who didn't like marvel but wanted to see panther back in the theater to see panther

Like I said

Double dose

Who do you think will DEFINITELY appear in more than ONE Marvel film during the NEXT PHASE of the MCU?

OTHER than T'Challa himself.

I got a feeling somehow someway besides Shuri?

That M'Baku gonna appear in at least ONE Marvel movie BEFORE BP 2.

Oh and the Dora Milaje is a damn LOCK.

If Agents of SHIELD gets another season, I'd bet money a Dora Milaje or War Dog gets added to the cast.

Told yall they was gonna do a Black Panther heavy trailer for this.

This interview is hilarious. it has the whole clip of peter getting off the bus and jumping off the bridge.

Black Panther's box office dominance continues to shatter records as the Marvel blockbuster vaulted past Titanic to become the third highest-grossing film of all time.

The 'Black Panther' Revolution

How Chadwick Boseman and Ryan Coogler created the most radical superhero movie of all time

James Cameron's Titanic – which enjoyed a 12-year reign as the highest-grossing film until it was usurped by the director's Avatar in 2009 – fell to Number Four on the all-time list after Black Panther leapt past the 1997 epic's $659.5 million domestic total, the Hollywood Reporter writes.

Without adjusting for inflation, Black Panther now only sits behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million) and Avatar ($760 million) on the all-time domestic box office list, according to Box Office Mojo.

Black Panther previously became the highest-grossing superhero film ever after surpassing The Avengers' $624 million haul. However, that record, as well as the Number Three spot, could be in jeopardy when Avengers: Infinity War – featuring Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and his fellow Wakandans – opens in theaters later this month.

Two months after Black Panther's theatrical release, the Marvel movie continues to resonate culturally: Boseman is scheduled to host tonight's episode of Saturday Night Live, marking the second SNL episode this season to feature a Black Panther actor; Sterling K. Brown hosted the March 11th episode.

It’s not touching Avatar’s world wide numbers...

But as a domestic film this shit is unprecedented... I never thought that i’d See the day where a Black directed film would cross Billion...

And now that Marvel has Blades Film rights back in house... it’s time for Blade to come back into the fold. Just without the CGI. Watching all these Asian action flicks have proven to me that you can make the perfect Blade movie with zero CGI...

You just have to have the right actor.

F. Gary Gray directed Fate of the Furious to 1.16 billion, but I understand what you're saying.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther”

  • 320

This weekend, Marvel’s “Black Panther” passes director James Cameron’s “Titanic” to become America’s third highest-grossing film of all time.

On Friday, “Black Panther” hit $659.2 million, just shy of “Titanic,” which grossed $659.4 million back in 1997. “Black Panther” would have to disappear from theaters to not overtake it Saturday.

The Ryan Coogler-directed film likely won’t have enough steam to reach number two on the list and beat 2009′s “Avatar.” That movie, also by Cameron, grossed $760 million. And who knows if anything will overtake the top spot which belongs to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which grossed $936 million in 2015.

“Titanic,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, held a spot in the top three for two decades. Even more impressive for “Black Panther” is the totals for “Titanic” include a 3D rerelease in 2012, and a 20th anniversary rerelease in 2017.

If any film has the chance to surpass “Black Panther,” it would be “Avengers: Infinity War,” due out April 27. Until then though, “Black Panther” remains Marvel’s highest domestic-grossing film ever.

That’s what I was looking at...

But Titanic made a legit 1.5 billion just in foreign sales in 1997.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&id=titanic.htm

And 600 million domestic its first go around

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=titanic.htm

Avatar made 749 million domestic its first release

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=avatar.htm

And fucking 2 billion just internationally

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&id=avatar.htm

Like those numbers are insane...

Avatars record just looks ungodly

I do think that if Black Panther can just continue to hang around... I’ll change my opinion and agree with @slam that it can beat Jurassic World worldwide at number 4... but the top 3 aren’t going anywhere.

Avatar is the king long shall he reign

Could you see a RE-RELEASE in the summer?

Or during the Holiday season?

Or close to the Oscars?

Marvel typically doesn’t do re-releases. I don’t think they re-released the first avengers.

But I am extremely interested to see what happens with Black Panther oscar time. Some might disagree but I think you have to nominate it Best picture and Best Director. It is such a monumental film that you don’t have a choice. I don’t think it gets a screenplay nod. I don’t see any of the cast getting a nomination. I do think Kendrick Lamar will get a nomination for best song. He is likely going to win that... giving him an oscar. It’s an easy win for Best Set design.. Best Lighting.. Best costumes. I’m torn of it will win best picture.... that would be insane to think about.. but it has a legit shot. If it wins... You have to give credit to Shape of Water. Shape of Water changed the game with a win for a science fiction film.. if you gave Shape of Water best picture and if you Nominate Black Panther... I think Black Panther wins just for its cultural impact and its ability to frame a world that we have never seen.

I see a legit path for Black Panther to leave with at least 5 oscars. Even 1 would be crazy for a science fiction superhero flick. Prior to Black Panther Dark knight was the only other super hero flick that I thought deserved an oscar. Dark Knight is still my gold standard and Black Panther is tied with it in my eyes.

and Avatar was the first movie to REALLY make that 3D theater money...

That’s why Avatar was the perfect storm... it was the first big budget cgi movie that was specifically built for 3-d and IMax. Like James Cameron has to create entirely new technology to film avatar and the film still fucking holds up. I watched it again last week and the Beats still get my blood flowing.

I'm more interesting for all the protests and boycotts and #metoo

what happens if they not win ANY Oscars...

forget THAT

what WE gonna do if it doesn't get the BIG nominations?
