I grew up a within a couple of miles of that area.
There is an area on the near west side that was completely unoccupied. People started having regular gatherings there, in and around an abandoned building with barbeque, music and drinks. I mean there were so many people that both sides of the street would be filled with parked cars just like when church is in session.

She's our next mayor. She dog walked him in the primaries 50% to 17%. If the actual vote is remotely close some trump like cheating happened.

The task force, created through a 2021 voter-approved ballot initiative, recommends programs to repair harms and compensate African American residents for historically unjust city policies. Key proposals include cash payments and housing grants for eligible Detroiters, expanding African-centered education, firing "high-risk" police officers and ending water shutoffs for delinquent bills.
