Getting a good deal on a house in Detroit means you have enough for a few shotguns, pit bulls, and private security to guard your house. The police ain't coming until someone is dead unless your neighborhood is predominantly white, which means you ain't getting a good deal on it.
You also get the privilege of being ignored by the assessors office for complaining that the house you bought for 20k is being taxes as though it has a market value of 200k, even though the true market value is 100k.
