One of the 50 motorcycles and one of the bikers involved in the rampage lies “grounded” in Deer Park.
A gang of 50 bikers in Halloween costumes terrorized drivers across at least four Suffolk County towns Sunday, in the latest case of motorcycle madness.
The cyclists cut off other motorists, swarmed on sidewalks and even smashed into a police car in Brentwood.
There were three arrests, but, luckily, no one was hurt.
“It’s crazy that they did this after what happened in the city,” said Suffolk Police Sgt. Rocco Baudo.
“You think they would have been smarter.”
The Long Island bikers, many sporting skeleton masks and hoodies, sped through residential areas in Brentwood, Islip, Bay Shore an Deer Park at around 3:30 p.m.
They also disrupted traffic on busy Sunrise Highway.
The biker accused of hitting the police car was identified as Matthew Valentine, of East Quogue. He and two of his pals were busted for reckless driving.
At least 30 others got tickets.
Michelle Able, 31, of Islip, said the pack of bikers came flying down her block “buzzing like bees.”
“It could have been a very dangerous situation,’’ she said. “I’m glad the cops stopped them.’’
Jason Tunbull, who also lives in Islip, said the bikers “were acting pretty foolish, doing wheelies and getting in the way.”
“It’s just not safe the way they drive around.’’
One of the bikers, who asked not to be identified, whined, “We’ve been doing this for years.
“We were just having fun. We weren’t hurting anyone. Bikers get profiled now after what happened in New York. It’s not fair.”
Baudo said that several frightened motorists reported the gang.
“Everybody’s on edge after what happened in the city and on the LIE,’’ he said.
He was referring to a ride on the Long Island Expressway Oct. 14, when a gang of bikers sped along the highway, weaving around terrified motorists while committing almost every traffic violation in the book.
Seven bikers were busted in that case.
In the notorious Manhattan incident, a pack of “Hollywood Stuntz” motorcyclists dragged a driver out of his Range Rover and beat him in front of his wife and toddler daughter just off the West Side Highway on Sept. 29.
It was later learned that at least three off-duty cops, including an undercover officer, had been part of the gang. Nine people have been busted.
Those bikers attacked Alexian Lien — after he had desperately pulled off at an exit — because he had accidentally struck one of them with his SUV while attempting to flee in fear for his family.
The biker he hit, Edwin Mieses, suffered injuries that might leave him paralyzed.

Several riders -- some on motorcycles and others on four-wheel motorcycles known as quads -- were speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on several busy roads, including Pine Aire Drive, Udall Road and Sunrise Highway, Third Precinct Sgt. Rocco Baudo said.
The seven motorcyclists arrested on reckless driving charges included Samuel Morales, 19, and Tikret Cekic, 23, both of Brooklyn, and Matthew Valentino, 25, of East Quogue. Joel Hernandez, 19, of Brentwood, was arrested after police said he backed into a police vehicle. The officers were not injured.
Jason Coleman, 29, of Yonkers was charged with leaving the scene of accident after he made an illegal U-turn that resulted in a car crash, police said, and Thomas Palacios, 35, of Bay Shore, who was driving an all-terrain vehicle, was charged with driving under the influence.
One passenger, whom police did not identify, was charged with obstructing governmental administration after a police officer ordered her to stop and she attempted to flee.
"You would think after what happened in the city, they'd be smarter about it," said Baudo, who explained that motorists reported the motorcyclists driving recklessly. "Everybody's on edge after what happened in the city and on the LIE."
Four motorcycles and an ATV were impounded, police said.

NYPD hunting 4 more bikers in SUV attack
The NYPD is pulling out all the stops to hunt down four more bikers in the now infamous attack on the father who was out for a Sunday drive with his family in upper Manhattan, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Detectives have spent countless hours poring over video to single out the unidentified thugs and have called in experts to pinpoint the exact makes and models of the motorcycles they were seen riding in the Sept. 29 beat down of an Internet executive in Washington Heights, sources said.
Investigators then cross referenced the bikes with the same types of motorcycles owned by a multitude of people throughout the New York area, sources said.
Three of the bikes are so common that there are approximately three hundred registered owners for each motorcycle, the sources said.
Cops are in the early stages of following up on the long list of potential suspects.
“They are in the beginning stages of going to every address to see what they can learn,” said one law enforcement source.
The 33-year-old exec, Alexian Lien, was first surrounded by the biker mob as he was driving his wife and young girl in their black Ranger Rover near 125th Street in Harlem on the afternoon of Sept. 29.
During an ensuing confrontation, the bikers smashed the SUV with their helmets, denting the frame. They also slashed his tires with a knife.
Lien peeled away, running over several bikers, one of whom was critically injured.
A swarm of angry motorcyclists chased Lien for more than 50 blocks northbound on the West Side Highway.
Due to his badly damaged tires, Lien was forced to exit at 178th Street, where the assailants stopped his SUV, ripped him out of the driver’s seat and savagely beat him in front of his terrified family.
In total, nine bikers have been arrested on various charges, including ringleader and career criminal Reginald Chance, 37.
Several cops were among the dozens of bikers who took part in the rally that kicked off in Brooklyn.
But only one – undercover detective Wojciech Braszczok, 32 — was charged in connection with the assault.

The dad who was mauled by a vicious motorcycle mob in September left his Lower Manhattan pad Saturday with his daughter cradled in his arms, and without a bruise on his face.
Alexian Lien, 33, strolled out of his Broad St. building with his wife and a close family relative at his side before he scooped up his little girl — who was 2 at the time of the attack — about 11 a.m., a Daily News reporter observed.

It was just over a month ago that bikers ripped the doting dad out of the driver’s seat of his Range Rover and gave him a beatdown in front of his horrified wife and daughter on W. 178th St.
Now the family was out and about. They declined to speak to a reporter as they hopped into a yellow cab and sped away. Lien’s lawyer Frank Panetta also declined to comment.

He was bloodied, battered and bruised — but now he’s back.
The dad who was mauled by a vicious motorcycle mob in September left his Lower Manhattan pad Saturday with his daughter cradled in his arms, and without a bruise on his face.
Alexian Lien, 33, strolled out of his Broad St. building with his wife and a close family relative at his side before he scooped up his little girl — who was 2 at the time of the attack — about 11 a.m., a Daily News reporter observed.

It was just over a month ago that bikers ripped the doting dad out of the driver’s seat of his Range Rover and gave him a beatdown in front of his horrified wife and daughter on W. 178th St.
Now the family was out and about. They declined to speak to a reporter as they hopped into a yellow cab and sped away. Lien’s lawyer Frank Panetta also declined to comment.

Gone are the stitches Lien sported on his right cheek and the multicolored bruises that riddled his face — both graphic reminders of the beating he took at the hands of an out-of-control motorcycle mob out to make him pay.
Lien became the target of the brutal bikers when he struck one who cut him off on the Henry Hudson Parkway, triggering a wild 4-mile chase, cops said.

Later, after being swarmed by the biker horde, Lien hit the gas and, while he was trying to get his family to safety, plowed over motorcyclist Edwin Mieses.
Mieses — who was crushed by the car — may never walk again, doctors said.

Footage of the Sept. 29 chase and beatdown was captured on the helmet mounted camera of one of the bikers, and went viral after it was posted online.

"We watched in horror... I could see the look on Meezee's face as he turned to look back at the Range Rover. The looks in his face was a disappointing face as to say, 'So this is how I'm going to die,'" Sims told cops.
"Edwin gargled some blood and we took off. We caught up to the SUV in no time," the statement said.

"I started yelling, 'Don't let him get away. Grab the keys!' But because I had my helmet on I don't think anyone heard me. So I ran to the car ... I reached for the door handle in attempt to get the keys but couldn't really figure out where the key would be and in that brief moment I looked up and at the driver's face and his face was full of fear."
Mieses was left paralyzed from the incident.
His lawyer, Gloria Allred, said he's now out of the hospital and in a rehab facility.
"He is making a little progress in his recovery, but is unable to walk," Allred said.
All five pleaded not guilty to the felony charges.

The 11 members of the biker gang that chased down Alexian Lien on the Westside Highway in September will likely face downgraded charges when they next appear in court because the victim's facial injuries are not as severe as initially feared, prosecutors said Friday.
Wojciech Braszczok, flanked by his lawyers, was offered a plea deal of three years in jail for his role in the beatdown.
Charges against members of the biker crew — including an undercover detective — that allegedly chased down and attacked a driver will likely be reduced because the victim’s facial injuries are not as serious as initially feared, prosecutors said Friday.
"It's likely that on the next [court date]we're going to move to reduce the top charges" from first-degree assault and gang assault to attempted assault and attempted gang assault, Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass said Friday in Manhattan Supreme Court .
"The reason for that is the victim's facial wounds look to be healing in a way that, fortunately, would not constitute permanent disfigurement under the law," Steinglass added.
The move would mean all but one of the 11 indicted bikers would now face up to 15 years in prison, instead of 25.

Mayor de Blasio pledged there would be “serious consequences” for those who engage in motorcycle mayhem after video emerged of a large group of bikers and ATV riders invading a city street on Sunday.
The rowdy riders, about 15 in all, created a traffic nightmare as they spun dangerously and popped wheelies outside of the R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home on Broadway near W. 190th St. in Washington Heights. Motorists, fearful and angry over the stunt, honked their horns, according to video uploaded to YouTube.
Jon-Marc McDonald, 37, a freelance publicist who lives on Broadway between 189th St. and 190th St., said he watched about 20 to 25 bikers causing a ruckus for around 10 or 15 minutes.
“They’re stopping traffic,” said McDonald. “They know no one is going to do anything because everyone is afraid of them.”

He said the bikers regularly swarmed in the same spot all summer, but stopped after the Lien beating. Then, they returned one day in December and then again Sunday.
"I'm angry,” he said. “We're all victims when they play their little games on the road."
"I hope the video shows how terrorizing it is,” he said. “I hope people take notice."
A worker at the funeral home said the bikers where there to honor a friend who was being laid to rest.

“We are aware of the video, but not sure of its origin," the NYPD said in a statement. "There have been no formal complaints with the police. However, the precinct commander will monitor the situation."

The suspects, including NYPD Detective Wojchiech Brasczok, 32, are charged with first-degree assault and gang assault. But in December, prosecutors revealed they were thinking of reducing the charges to attempted assault and attempted gang assault.

Lien was out for a Sunday drive with his wife and 2-year-old when they were suddenly surrounded by bikers on the Henry Hudson Parkway.
A video that surfaced on YouTube days after the attack shows the trouble started when biker Christopher Cruz, 28, of Passaic, N.J., pulled in front of Lien’s luxury SUV and was struck.
Lien immediately stopped but then hit the gas in fear as the angry mob approached his car. Lien ran over and severely injured motorcyclist Edwin Mieses Jr., 32, triggering a 4-mile chase that was capped by his beating.

Despite the abundance of video and photo evidence, lawyers for two of the suspects said Thursday that the images didn’t tell the whole story.

Attorneys Andrew Vecere and Morton Katz said the incident started earlier when Lien clipped a biker on the West Side Highway.
“He is not an innocent victim,” Katz said.

Alexian Lien's facial injuries are not healing as well as prosecutors thought in December, when they announced they would likely downgrade charges against 11 suspects accused of yanking him from his SUV and beating him in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter.

In a reversal, prosecutors said Thursday that charges against the undercover NYPD detective accused of taking part in the biker beatdown of a Manhattan dad are not going to be downgraded.
Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass had said in December that the first-degree assault and gang charges against Wojciech Braszczok and his fellow bikers were likely to be reduced because Alexian Lien's facial wounds were not as serious as initially feared.

"Unfortunately, it appears the victim's injuries have not healed as well as we initially believed they would so we're not [GOING]to reduce the charges at this time," Steinglass told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Maxwell Wiley.
All but one of the 11 defendants still face 25 years in prison, rather than 15 that would have come with downgraded charges.

Mieses suffered nine broken ribs, a severed spine and a torn aorta when Lien, 33, drove the SUV over him on a sunny September day on the Henry Hudson Parkway last year.
Doctors told him it’s 99.9% likely he’ll never walk again.

“I refuse to believe that,” Mieses said, crediting his faith for helping him through the ordeal.
Eleven people have been indicted in the shocking incident captured on a biker’s helmet cam. Lien’s getaway triggered a wild chase that culminated in several of the bikers smashing the windows of his SUV, pulling him from the ride, and beating and slashing him in front his family.
Neither Lien or Mieses have been charged in connection to the incident.

He was returning to his bike with his back to the SUV when Lien ran him over. The pain was agonizing.
“I didn’t want to open my eyes because I knew he had hurt me,” Mieses said.
His attorney, Gloria Allred, did not rule out the possibility of suing Lien or the city for the incident.
“We always take everything for granted,” Mieses said. “What would I give to be able to walk again, use a bathroom again on my own. ... That has allowed me to see things from a different angle.”

Edwin Mieses, 32, said on the “Today” show Wednesday that there’s no way for him to know exactly what was going through Alexian Lien’s head as the swarm of bikers surrounded the Range Rover with Lien’s wife and 2-year-old daughter in the passenger seats.
“I don’t blame him,” said Mieses.

Mieses suffered nine broken ribs, a severed spine and a torn aorta when Lien, 33, drove the SUV over him on a sunny September day on the Henry Hudson Parkway last year.
Doctors told him it’s 99.9% likely he’ll never walk again.

Eleven people have been indicted in the shocking incident captured on a biker’s helmet cam. Lien’s getaway triggered a wild chase that culminated in several of the bikers smashing the windows of his SUV, pulling him from the ride, and beating and slashing him in front his family.
Neither Lien or Mieses have been charged in connection to the incident.

Officers, who were instructed not to engage in chases, observed both large and small packs of the off-road machines being driven on the street illegally, cops said.
At 5:20 p.m., cops on foot patrol tried to stop a cyclist riding along Second Ave. in East Harlem, but he dropped his dirt bike and fled on foot.

Hibbert, who struggled with the officers, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and obstruction of government administration, cops said. Both officers were treated at St. Luke’s Hospital for abrasions and other minor injuries.
Hibbert has been arrested five times in the past on charges that include criminal possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle without a license, a source said.

The rider, Samuel Lopez, a 41-year-old trashman, was nabbed at a nearby gas station as he refueled, cops said. He is an employee of the Department of Sanitation, police said.
He was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without a license. Lopez has been arrested nine times, twice for punching his wife in 2010 and 2005, a police source said.

His rap sheet also includes arrests for robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, assault, criminal mischief and obstruction of government administration, the source said.
Hibbert and Lopez were both released without having to post bail. Hernandez was still awaiting arraignment Monday morning.

The viral video of Alexian Lien’s Sept. 29 beating caused an outcry against large groups of illegal and legal motorbikes in the city. Lien was out for a Sunday drive with his wife and 2-year-old when they were suddenly surrounded by bikers on the Henry Hudson Parkway.
A police source said cops regularly confiscate illegal motorbikes, but that the weekend effort might be the best publicized yet.
“We’ve seized an awful lot of bikes,” the source said.

An undercover detective and motorcycle crew charged with viciously attacking a Range Rover driver after he plowed into a biker on the West Side Highway are apparently heading toward a trial.
The defendants — including city Detective Wojciech Braszczok — have so far rejected plea offers from prosecutors in the gang assault case, sources said. All but one of the defendants face up to 25 years behind bars.
Braszczok and the others appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday when the judge alluded to planning for trial.
The next hearing is on Sept. 29 — exactly one year after Alexian Lien was horrifically beaten in front of his terrified wife and 2-year-old daughter, in an attack that was caught on video.
“From there we should be able to set a trial date,” Justice Maxwell Wiley told both prosecutors and the defendants.

The biker whose collision with a Range Rover-driving Tribeca dad sparked a Manhattan highway chase and a beating caught on video pleaded guilty to a pair of felonies Wednesday.
Christopher Cruz, who played a minor role in the incident and was never accused of actually beating motorist Alexian Lien, pleaded guilty to assault and riot charges in exchange for four months behind bars and five years of probation.
Prosecutors said Cruz, 29, deliberately slowed his motorcycle to cause Lien to rear-end him during a massive Sept. 29, 2013, ride north on the West Side Highway.
Shortly after Cruz was struck, Lien ran over Edwin Mieses Jr., one of the bikers, but was never arrested after claiming he charged through the crowd because the riders were ganging up on him.
Lien was chased uptown to W. 178th St. and St. Nicholas Ave., where he was pulled out of the car and pummeled.

Charges are still pending against suspended undercover NYPD Det. Wojciech Braszczok, who was one of 11 riders charged. All but Cruz were charged with gang assault, which carries up to 25 years behind bars. Cruz faced up to seven years on felony assault.
Co-defendants Allen Edwards and Edwin Rodriguez pleaded guilty to second-degree assault earlier this month but got five years’ probation without jail time.

He is one of 11 men charged in the assault.

Defense attorney John Arlia says his client was acting as a policeman who had just seen an SUV crush a biker. He says his client did not go on the attack.

Bikers including undercover NYPD detective go to trial for SUV mob attack
The video shows dozens and dozens of bikers swarming the West Side of Manhattan as they take over the roads and eventually allegedly antagonize Alexian Lien and his family.
For the first time Lien spoke out publicly in a courtroom. He admitted his wife threw a half eaten plum and bottle of water at the bikers out of frustration, but said she never made contact.
Lien was pensive, as he described feeling scared and threatened for his family. His small daughter was in the back seat.
When video showing Lien drive over one biker, Lien choked up as he tearfully described being surrounded by bikers and feeling them kick his SUV. At one point he said a biker came right next to his drivers side window, which is when he repeatedly he asked his wife what to do. She responded, according to Lien, to just go and when he did he said he knew he hit someone.
This case will not be heard by a jury, but instead by Judge Maxwell Wiley.
Attorney Luther Williams representing Sims told our cameras it was a decision he was not entirely comfortable with.
“I’ve only done two non juries in my 37 years, so I’m a little bit uncomfortable with it myself however I do have a young man who will take the lead in that,” said Williams.
Each altercation described as scene 1, scene 2 and scene 3 was shown one at a time. Scene 3 ended with Lien describing how his driver’s side window was smashed open, he was pulled out and beaten.
The judge was shown images showing the brutality of the attack, including Lien’s bloodied face and bruised body and also minor injuries suffered by his wife and toddler daughter.
Lien’s testimony was cross examined by both defense attorneys, during which both questioned whether Lien was instead the antagonizer.
Lien also admitted he is still considering lawsuit against the city.
Court will reconvene Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

Clearly the bikers are in the wrong and should be punished. However, the situation probably could have been avoided if that bitch of a wife didn't think she could get away with throwing food and garbage at the bikers. In what world is that the right move in a situation where you're surrounded by dozens of "scary" bikers and you're clearly not able to go toe to toe with even one of them if necessary? Dude's wife did the typical loud mouth woman thing and painted a target on her husband's back. I feel a little less sorry for dude getting beat on after learning such an important detail, which the media did a superb job of keeping out of the story.
