Meet the cop arrested in biker gang’s attack on family man
bikercopwalk-copy.jpg

Undercover Det. Wojceich Braszczok (whose face has been blurred), left, and leaving court today, right, flanked by bail bondsman Ira Judelson and attorney John Arlia, was allegedly involved in bikers' rampage.

He gels his hair into a tough-guy “Lo-hawk.” He posts Weiner-esque, bare-chested “selfies” online, and swaggeringly boasts in a dating profile that he’s “attractive.”

Det. Wojceich Braszczok — the off-duty, NYPD undercover cop who shamed his badge by allegedly joining in a motorcycle gang’s terrorizing of a Manhattan family – was arraigned in Manhattan Wednesday on gang assault charges that could cage him for 25 years.

Meahwhile, the dapper but dastardly detective emerged through his online postings as a skirt-chasing braggart who was so careless, he used close variations of the same screen name, “evovillen,” for both real-life and undercover communications while infiltrating Occupy Wall Street last year as “Al” the protester.

As Braszczok, 32, of Queens, was sprung on $150,000 bail bond, Occupy Wall Street protesters immediately took to Twitter, erupting with outrage over “Al’s” apparent betrayal.

“I’d love to give him a piece of my mind,” tweeted one apparently duped occupier, @SeaNick_.

Posted another, “@evovillen you really are stupid. COVER = BLOWN.”

It’s amazing the knucklehead hadn’t had his cover blown sooner.

Braszczok has been referring to himself as a cop in postings using the same “evovillen” handle since at least 2007, online records indicate. That’s a good year or more prior to his undercover work — and yet he never changed his handle, going on to use it on Twitter, Instagram, motorcycle forums and online dating sites, including in undercover posts to his Occupy “buddies.”

The scene as rampaging bikers dragged Alexian Lien from his Range Rover and pummeled the family man in front of his terrified wife and child, who were inside the vehicle.

At Braszczok’s arraignment Wednesday afternoon, Assistant District Attorney Samantha Turino demanded high bail, arguing, “This defendant was clearly present and actively participated,” in a gang of motorcyclists’ startling, broad-daylight predation on a Financial District family who’d unwittingly driven across their path on the West Side Highway September 29.

According to the criminal complaint against him, the off-duty cop was wearing a black vest with the emblem of the New Rochelle, NY-based club “Front Line Soldiers” on the back as he used his motorcycle-gloved fist to bust out the rear window of the family’s Range Rover.

The attack — joined in by as many as seven additional bikers — left 33-year-old Internet exec Alexian Lien cut and bruised on the highway from a barrage of boots, sneakers and fists as his wife and 2-year-old daughter cowered in terror.

Braszczok only came forward four days after the attack — and allegedly lied that he had no hand in the violence, explaining he simply rode off so as not to blow his cover.

His lawyer, John Arlia, countered in court that Braszczok came no where near the family, and that the Rover’s rear window was already cracked when Braszczok admittedly hit it.

“My client is breaking what’s already broken, and they’re taking a misdemeanor and building a [felony] case,” Arlia said.

When he wasn’t busting windows or pretending to be a protester, Braszczok trolled for “girls” as young as 18, posted hunky bare-chested self portraits and warning would-be dates that he is “athletic” and “attractive.”

“Looking for girls 18-34, up to 20 miles from me,” according to his current online dating profile on Singlesbee.com

“Fire, law enforcement and security,” Braszczok says of his employment. He lists himself as Catholic, never married but still a dad, though he admits he doesn’t live with his kid or kids.

bikercopbikie.jpg

The criminal complaint against Braszczok said he was riding a red Yamaha at the time of the rampage. The detective posted this photo of a motorcycle online.

He also brags that he is “attractive,” 6’1”, and “athletic” — the better to allegedly swing his fist and bash in the rear window of the black Range Rover that was prey to the seething biker mob he rode with that day.

Sources say Braszczok was off-duty at the time of the ride, and waited to come forward until three days after the Sept. 29, broad-daylight attack, which left Lien bloodied on the pavement.

When not boasting of his attractive athleticism, Braszczok tweeted under the handle @evovillen.com,” sharing videos of extreme and stunt motorcycling, The Post has found.

“Come join us in spring training by occupying the stock exchange today at 2:30 p.m., he posted last year, referring to Hope to see you there.” he wrote on Ap. 6 ‘12, while infiltrating the demonstration.
Work had its perks, though. “Hard day at work tonight,” he brags in the caption to a photo he tweeted two years ago, showing a table laden with two half-empty pints of beer, and plates of calamari and crab cakes dated two years ago.

And a peek into his online photo album reveals Weiner-esque selfies highlighting his buff, slightly hairy chest.
Braszczok also poses separately at nightclubs with a bevy of three fetching young women.

Then there are his album’s way-undercover boudoir pix, showing a pair of shapely mystery women, the blonde wearing a fishnet body stocking and the brunette in a lacy pink thong.

The UC was crafty — or careless — enough to post a photo of his souped-up Silver Mitsubishi sitting smack outside his Ridgewood condo.

And finally, photos the apparent love of his life: his spotless, souped up Yamaha, painted a shiny, candy apple red, the same bike he rode to the West Side Highway melee.

So far, a total of five alleged rampaging bikers, including Braszczok, have been charged with gang assault. The fifth biker is Clinton Caldwell, 32, of Brooklyn, who was arraigned after Braszczok in the same courtroom on charges of gang assault and assault.

A sixth biker, James Kuehne, 31, of Brooklyn, remained at the 33rd Precinct in Washington Heights. Sources said he, too, has been arrested on gang assault and assault charges for allegedly helping to drag Lien out of the Rover and then joining in the beatdown.

When one signs up for law enforcement or auxiliary, you are instructed "not to ever plead guilty" to any infraction of the law, you let a jury decide, this is why the officers who also from the NYPD falsely stated that Shuan Bell had a gun that was never ever located, Like George Bus who brought to the U.N. table stating like authentic that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, Where are they even today Mr. Bush ????? Anyone in Law enforcement and Law defense knows that Cops get a lawyer to speak in their behalf and pay heavily to get them exonerated, would he commit this again ? In my personal opinion, yes he would, check his credentials, and look who he makes associates with. I want to be on his docket for prosecution as a jurer, Guilty as charged, 25- life. I knew last Friday by the make up of this incident that cops we're indeed involved and I stated it right here in this forum. My ESP proved me RIGHT.

I'm addressing a comment board issue. Yesterday before we knew the identity of the biker cop someone commented that his race must be like the rest of the bikers arrested, which we all know were black, and referred to them as all "friggin' animals" Now that we know that he is not black where is the vitriol today? I'm not trying to call anyone out, but I do think you, as well as others, need to reevaluate their thinking, seriously. These thugs are human beings who disgustingly acted like pack of animals regardless of race. So can we please keep race out of the discussion?

NYPD detective was 'active participant' in beating of SUV driver targeted by bikers: prosecutor

Wojchiech Braszczok, 32, who once worked undercover as an Occupy Wall Street protester, now faces charges of gang assault, assault and criminal mischief after Alexian Lien was yanked from behind the wheel of his SUV and pummeled in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter. The detective has posted bail.

Undercover Detective Wojchiech Braszczok, who was charged in the biker assault against Alexian Lien, is walked out Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday.

The NYPD undercover who hid behind his badge after a motorcycle mob beating was exposed in court Wednesday as a suspected bully, a liar — and a coward.

Suspended Detective Wojciech Braszczok cut a ghostly figure as he bolted from a Manhattan courthouse through a rear door, his face covered by a hoodie and a dark-colored cloth after posting $150,000 bond.

He refused to answer questions about the Sept. 29 beatdown where prosecutors say he ignored a bleeding Manhattan dad attacked by a frothing mob before lying to cover his motorcycle tracks.

The 10-year veteran zipped off in a waiting black Mercedes after an arraignment where prosecutors added felony assault and gang assault charges against him.

Biker Braszczok, 32, never lifted a finger to aid the battered victim as he instead terrorized the man’s helpless wife and 2-year-old daughter, prosecutors charged.

The off-duty Braszczok went rogue as an “active participant” in the “brutal and brazen attack on the driver and his family,” said Assistant District Attorney Samantha Turino.

“This defendant also did nothing to stop it, including not calling 911,” she said.

Authorities, after reviewing video of the Sept. 29 attack by a mob of motorcyclists, slapped the additional assault charges on the suspect. He was initially charged with criminal mischief and rioting.
bikers-02.jpg

Wojciech Braszczok (right) — pictured out with a blond — is in deeper than he ever could have imagined.

The top counts of assault and gang assault carry a sentence of up to 25 years. The prosecutor said video clips clearly show Braszczok shattering a window and kicking a door on an SUV targeted by the bikers.

Cameras were barred from the Manhattan courtroom after Judge Tamiko Amaker agreed that the media attention could “jeopardize” the safety of the undercover and his family.

Ironically, sources told the Daily News, Braszczok initially insisted that he couldn’t help the SUV driver because he didn’t want to expose his true identity.

The number of suspects busted in the case grew to seven shortly after Braszczok was freed on bail, when James Kuehne, 33, of Brooklyn, turned himself in
braszczok.jpg

Wojchiech Braszczok had an odd hairstyle, and showed it to the world online.

Kuehne was charged with gang assault, assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon. He has two previous arrests, one of which is sealed, cops said. The other is a 2006 charge of driving with a suspended license.

An eighth biker, Allen Edwards, was arrested and then released after his charges were dropped.

The money to spring Braszczok came through celebrity bail bondsman Ira Judelson, whose past clientele includes ex-Giants Super Bowl star Plaxico Burress, rapper DMX and French politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Braszczok, a married father of two, put up his $400,000 Long Island City, Queens, apartment. He intends to testify Friday before a Manhattan grand jury, said defense attorney John Arlia.

The cop never came within 12 feet of the victim, and the assault charge will never stick, Arlia said.

But Turino said Braszczok was caught on videotape chasing the family SUV driven by Alexian Lien before smashing a window and kicking the stopped vehicle — with the victim’s wife and baby daughter cowering inside.

“This defendant is continuing to terrorize the rest of the driver’s family . . . while the driver’s side window is being broken and the driver is being dragged out,” the prosecutor said.

Lien, 33, was left with two black eyes, cuts to his forehead, right cheek and lips, lacerations on the left side of his body and abrasions on his hand, back and right shoulder, according to a criminal complaint. Police said Lien was yanked from behind the wheel and pummeled.

The undercover, in addition to infiltrating the Occupy Wall Street encampment, was loaned out to both federal and state investigations, a source said.

Veteran defense lawyer Ron Kuby said the charges could affect the prosecution of cases involving Braszczok.

“Every lawyer who currently has a case is going to go looking at the undercover, and every defendant that the undercover helped convict is going to be petitioning,” Kuby said.

There was very little show of rank-and-file support in the courtroom, and Braszczok split with his union lawyer after reports first surfaced that he had lied. His wife skipped the hearing.

Braszczok surrendered Tuesday night after the damning videotape surfaced. The suspect, after waiting two days instead of immediately calling his bosses, initially said he arrived at the Henry Hudson Parkway as the attack was winding down, sources said.

Another suspect, hulking biker Clint Caldwell, was held on $150,000 bail at his Wednesday arraignment on gang assault, assault and criminal mischief charges.

Cops are seeking at least four more suspects.

Hamill: Ex-cop calls NYPD detective in biker beatdown a 'disgrace to the badge'

The undercover cop charged for being a participant in the biker gang beatdown of Alexian Lien was not joined by fellow cops outside the court because he crossed the line, a former undercover cop said.
lien-1.jpg

Police came to the aid of Alexian Lien, whose wife and daughter can be seen through the frame of the window, following beating by gang of bikers. An undercover cop was charged in the crime

There was no blue wall of support present Wednesday at 100 Centre St. for a cop accused of this outrageous crime.

Instead, NYPD undercover Detective Wojciech Braszczok was marched all alone into Judge Tamiko Amaker’s courtroom to be arraigned on charges of gang assault, assault and criminal mischief.

R

Dressed in a black hoodie, camouflage shorts and sneakers, the tall, lean undercover listened to a prosecutor describe a harrowing incident in which she said the biker gang he rode with on Sept. 29 on the West Side Highway cut off an SUV. Inside the vehicle, a man was driving his wife and 2-year-old kid.

Authorities accused Braszczok of looking on as fellow bikers forced the SUV to stop, smashed the side windows, dragged the driver out and beat and stomped him. Then, according to the prosecutor, Braszczok smashed a rear window where the baby sat. It took the detective three days before admitting he was at the scene, but only after investigators identified him on video.

How could a cop cross the line to a biker gang assault?

I asked an ex-cop who might know more about undercover police work in this city than anyone else.

“I was a cop for 20 years, 15 years as a UC or as a ‘handler,’ and then as a trainer of UCs,” said the ex-cop, who must remain anonymous because he still helps train NYPD undercover cops.

“Since this incident happened, my phone’s been on fire with active and retired UCs who are just outraged,” he says. “This guy belongs in the can. What he did is not just inexcusable, it’s horrific.”

What should have Braszczok done?

“I teach all UCs that if you are in deep or just see an incident arise in daily life where someone is in danger, all bets are off,” the former undercover cop says. “Whether he was infiltrating the gang or just riding with other bikers he should’ve ID’d himself. If identifying yourself as a cop endangers your own life, you break away from the group ASAP and call 911.”

Then what?

“Then he should have called his handler immediately,” he says. “The handler will dispatch help and call you in. Debrief you. Instead it looks like this guy did none of those things. Instead, he let a citizen be beaten. He watched a family be terrorized. And, if what I’m hearing is true, he actually took part in the attack on the vehicle. If that’s true, this disgrace to the badge belongs in a cage.”

The undercover expert says that one of the problems with “going deep” is that you lose touch with reality.

“Before anything else you’re a cop,” he says. “But some guys get sucked so deep into the world they are infiltrating that they start talking, walking, acting and thinking like the people they are investigating. (In) some UC units there are mandatory shrink therapy sessions. But not in narcotics, which is where this guy comes out of.”

Why not?

“Good question,” he says. “I think all UCs need shrinking. I can tell you that when I was in deep as a narc UC, there were times when my brain became deep fried from being around crack dealers . . . Do I think I could have benefited from therapy in those days? Absolutely.”

He says that he’s hearing that Braszczok was loaned from narcotics to an undercover Occupy Wall Street team and then started riding with this gang of bikers, which Braszczok’s lawyer says “gets together on the Internet.”

“You start playing so many roles that you lose track that you are a cop,” he says. “Sounds to me like this guy needed some shrinking to refocus his identity. If you’re a cop, married with two kids like this guy, and you participate in a biker gang attack on a family like your own instead of calling 911, your handler, and coming in — then you have lost touch with who you are.”

The mask becomes the man?

“Exactly,” he says. “You become one of the skels. In this case it looks like this guy forgot he was a cop after 10 years on the job and that’s why you don’t see any cops coming out to support him. He crossed the line from good guy to bad guy.”

That’s why on Wednesday, Detective Wojciech Braszczok was marched like a perp into 100 Centre St. all alone.

New York News
7th arrest made in motorcycle road rage case on West Side

video

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Thanks to videos and eyewitness accounts, police are still finding suspects and making arrests in the biker road rage attack on a man in his SUV along the Henry Hudson Parkway almost two weeks ago.

A seventh suspect surrendered Wednesday and is expected to be arraigned Thursday.

Investigators say 31-year-old James Kuehne assaulted SUV driver Alexian Lien with his helmet.

He was arrested Wednesday night after turning himself in to police in Washington Heights.

Earlier, 32-year-old Clint Caldwell was in court, where he was charged with gang assault after investigators say he pulled the shattered glass from Lien's car following the chase.

Meanwhile, charges were upgraded against an NYPD detective believed to be involved.

Prosecutors say undercover narcotics Officer Woljciech Braszczok can be seen in the video of the attack riding a red Yamaha motorcycle.

Braszczok originally told detectives he did not immediately report the assault because he did not want to blow his cover, but prosecutors say they have video of the officer beating the back window of the SUV and kicking the back door on the passenger's side.

"It should be noted, Your Honor, that the 2-year-old child of the complainant was in the back seat at the time the defendant was seen in these violent acts," the prosecutor said in court.

Braszczok is a 10-year NYPD veteran, something his attorney says will play a large part when this case goes to trial.

"This detective valiantly served, but secretly, as an undercover officer with the intelligence division of the NYPD, infiltrating groups that were targeted by law enforcement agencies," defense attorney John Arlia said.

Video captured at the scene shows riders swarming around the SUV before the driver takes off, running over biker Edwin Mieses Jr.

Mieses, of Lawrence, Mass., broke his legs and suffered spine injuries that will leave him paralyzed, his family has said. He had gotten off his motorcycle to defuse the tense situation when he was mowed over, the family said.

Braszczok did nothing to stop the assault, prosecutors said. He didn't call 911 and didn't report it to his superiors for two days, and then, when he did, he lied about it, Assistant District Attorney Samantha Turino said. At first, Braszczok told investigators he didn't see the attack, then changed his story to say he saw it but didn't participate, she said.

The detective was stripped of his gun and badge after internal affairs detectives discovered he was present for at least part of the encounter. The officer plans to testify before a grand jury on Friday.

Uniformed officers, even off duty, are expected to jump in if a crime is occurring, but rules are murkier for undercover officers, who face blowing their covers if they come forward.

Lien's wife has said he fled to protect her and their 2-year-old daughter. Lien hasn't been charged with any crime.

Bruising can be seen on the side of Alexian Lien's face on Friday as suspects in the bikers are being rounded up by police.

The Manhattan driver battered by a motorcycle mob silently exited his Manhattan apartment Friday, his injuries still visible nearly two weeks after the attack.

Alexian Lien sported sunglasses, a gray hoodie and stitches in his right cheek as he was photographed for the first time since a Sept. 29 video chronicled his beatdown.

Lien, 33, was not accompanied by his wife or daughter — who both witnessed the attack off the Henry Hudson Parkway. He said nothing as photographers and camera crews moved in to get his picture.

Alexian Lien is seen walking out his apartment Friday with his mother.

The stitches on his cheek were set off by bruises that have lingered long after he was yanked from behind the wheel of his SUV and assaulted.

Before Lien emerged, the NYPD undercover detective charged in the attack told the Daily News that he was doing OK despite his legal woes.

"I'm hanging in there," Wojciech Broszczok said as he ducked into a Manhattan courthouse for a hearing on his felony assault case.

But the panel will not hear the case until next week, and he instead appeared for a hearing to update the court on the status of his case.

Assistant District Attorney Samantha Turino said she would discuss a new date for the detective's testimony with defense counsel.

Broszczok, during his time working undercover, infiltrated the Occupy Wall Street movement - and two of the group's members showed up Friday hoping for a reunion with their "comrade."

"I just want to look at this guy in the face and take it all in," said Nick, 26, an OWS photographer who didn't want to give his last name.

"You feel betrayed."

Nick and the second OWS member agreed that the man they knew as "Albert" crossed a line.

The exact charges against Chance will be revealed at his Oct. 30 arraignment.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- It started as a traffic altercation in Upper Manhattan, but it quickly escalated into a violent attack by an out of control mob of bikers.

We are all familiar by now with the video posted on YouTube that went viral, and it infuriated millions.

A couple out for a ride to celebrate their wedding anniversary, their young daughter in the back seat, when suddenly they found themselves surrounded by an angry group of motorcyclists on the West Side Highway near the George Washington Bridge.

The confrontation ended with the driver beaten, and one of the bikers in a hospital with spinal fractures, run over by the panicked driver as he tried to get away.

So far, seven people, including an undercover but off-duty New York cop who was riding with the bikers, have been arrested and charged in the assault.

Police are looking for at least four more people they want to question.

Residents living in Upper Manhattan where the incident took place have complained about these large motorcycle groups in the past, speeding through their neighborhoods, even riding on sidewalks.

Some local lawmakers now want to crackdown on reckless riders.

Joining us this week: City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, who represents Upper Manhattan, including Washington Heights, and Mark Levine, who won the Democratic primary and is expected to take the council seat representing Upper Manhattan.

Also with us to help understand the legal challenges involved in the case is David Schwartz, a former prosecutor with the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.

Finally, we'll speak with Frank Fusaro, the president of Columbus Citizens Foundation. They are the organizers of the 69th annual Columbus Day Parade in Manhattan, the largest celebration of Italian heritage and culture in the world, seen on Channel 7.

Watch Up Close with Diana Williams every Sunday morning at 11:00 on Channel 7.

SEE IT: Reckless bikers speed through midtown Manhattan doing wheelies

EXCLUSIVE: Two weeks after the Henry Hudson Parkway chase, 40 riders were seen routinely weaving in and out of traffic and going through multiple red lights.

There's been a new wave of motorcyclists gunning for trouble in the New York area over the last two days.

The bikers came out of the woodwork on two separate occasions, said terrified witnesses.

At least 40 riders performed wild wheelies and stunts Sunday night, recklessly endangering motorists near Columbus Circle.

“They came past like maniacs,” a witness told the Daily News on Monday.

The bikers flew through midtown around 7 p.m. over a span of five minutes, the witness said. The speed and wild abandon shown by half a dozen of them was caught on video.

“A ton of bikers came rushing past me, pulling wheelies, and running red lights,” the witness continued. “A police car went flying after them.”

On Monday, seven motorcyclists were arrested for reckless driving on the Long Island Expressway, Suffolk County cops said.

A spokeswoman said calls came in around noon complaining that the bikers were weaving in and out of traffic and speeding near exit 49.

Busy Columbus Circle is invaded by crazed bikers popping wheelies and running lights.

Officers followed the crew for about 10 exits heading east and were able “to box them in” and pull them all over in Patchogue, police said.

“A highway patrol officer followed them and with the assistance of another officer and slowing traffic they were able to pull them all over near exit 63,” another spokeswoman for the department said.

Seven suspects were charged with reckless driving: Edward Gianino, 25, Victor Dasilva, 33, and Ian Glass, 20, of Farmingdale, L.I.; Emilio Morales, 28, of Brooklyn; Nicholas Belletti, 28, of Great Neck, L.I.; and Oskar Bucki, 20, and David Golaszewski, 20, of Glendale, Queens.

The men are expected to be arraigned at a later date, and their motorcycles were impounded.

It was unclear whether any of the bikers in the two incidents were among those accused of terrorizing and beating up driver Alexian Lien in upper Manhattan last month while he was with his wife and 2-year-old daughter.

Cop that was part of the biker gang, not part of beating: attorney
6-year city cop Mathew Rodriguez's, 28, attorney claims that the cop was riding with the bikers that chased and beat Alexien Lien, but did not participate in the attack.

Officer Matthew Rodriguez, 28, was interviewed Tuesday by investigators from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office about his role in the rogue Sept. 29 motorcycle ride that led to the attack on Alexian Lien, said his lawyer Pat Bonanno.

The cop, on the force six years, was yanked from the Internal Affairs Bureau and sent back to patrol after he admitted being part of the rowdy motorcycle ride while off duty. He waited two weeks to tell his bosses he was among the rowdy riders. He has not been charged with a crime, but could face department discipline.

Cop charged in bike gang beatdown won’t testify, says video clears him

Defense attorney John Arlia said video shows that his client, police detective Wojciech Braszczok, ‘in no way at any time came in contact with [beating victim Alexian] Lien despite access and opportunity to do so.’

bikers22n-2-web.jpg

Undercover NYPD detective Wojciech Blaszczykwalked out out Manhattan Criminal Court earlier this month completely covered up.

The undercover cop who is facing gang assault charges stemming from the motorcycle-mob beatdown of a Manhattan father has had a change of heart and will not testify before a grand jury.

NYPD Detective Wojciech Braszczok, 32, had initially notified authorities that he would testify, but now won't be giving the grand jury his side of the story, his lawyer, John Arlia, told the Daily News on Monday. He had been scheduled to appear before the panel Tuesday.

Arlia said the decision was made with a mind to the highly publicized video of the Sept. 29 encounter between the group of motorcycle riders — which included Braszczok — and the father, Alexian Lien, who was beaten by the riders.

"The evidence speaks for him," Arlia said of his client.

Braszczok, whose most recent assignment at the NYPD was an undercover posting, was caught on video pounding on the rear windows of Lien’s SUV before Lien was dragged from behind the wheel and beaten on a Washington Heights street. He was arraigned earlier this month on charges of felony assault and gang assault.

But Arlia said video also shows that Braszczok "in no way at any time came in contact with Mr. Lien despite access and opportunity to do so."
The man on the red motorcycle with a rainbow helmet and a New Rochelle logo jacket is believed to be Wojciech Braszczok taking part in chasing Manhattan man Alexian Lien.

Braszczok did not initially come forward to tell his bosses that he was part of the incident, and he did not say anything about punching Lien's SUV. Video evidence led police to charge him. He was not present during the beatdown.

Braszczok is one of eight suspects charged in connection with the assault that occurred after Lien accidentally clipped one of the bikers on the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan.

Later, after being swarmed by the biker horde, Lien, 33, hit the gas and plowed over motorcyclist Edwin Mieses trying to get his family to safety.

Mieses is still in the hospital and may never walk again.

Brazczok, who has been suspended from the NYPD, is among four off-duty city cops who admitted participating in the motorcycle rally. He's the only police officer facing criminal charges in the case.

Arlia maintains that while Braszczok — who previously infiltrated the Occupy Wall Street movement while undercover — was riding with the bunch, he never touched Lien.

"My client has complete confidence and faith this grand jury will determine that he in no way intended to injure or acted in any way to injure Mr. Lien," Arlia said. "Mr. Lien however drove over and crushed Mr. Mieses' spine, paralyzing him, and then decided to flee the scene."

I saw the video just like everybody else you can't really tell what's going on til he tries to haul ass then runs over and paralyzes one of the bikers. He coulda handled that better, yes. I'm sure they maybe menaced him somewhat but the real shit doesn't hit the fan til he runs over the guy.

cooler heads? the definition of a mob is that they HAVE no cooler heads. they are fueled by emotion, not common sense. they blocked the wsh to surround the guy.

Graphic video surfaced Tuesday showing a Manhattan father being dragged from his luxury SUV by a mob of bikers yelling profanities and demanding that the victim “get out!”

The 19-second clip shows Alexian Lien, 33, being pulled from his Range Rover by his head and thrown to the ground in the vicious Sept. 29 beatdown.

The new video was obtained by WABC Channel 7, which reported it came from a witness to the assault that capped a 4-mile chase on the Henry Hudson Parkway.

The footage shows a hole the size of a motorcycle helmet through the rear window of Lien’s black SUV, and both the vehicle’s passenger-side tires are flat. The camera zooms in on the driver’s side door just as bikers dragged Lien out in front of his terrified wife and 2-year-old daughter.

The tape cuts off just as Lien is being thrown on the ground. Police said the victim was punched and kicked repeatedly before a good Samaritan intervened and stopped the attack.

The video was aired Tuesday as cops announced the arrest of another motorcyclist for the barbarous attack.

Jason Brown, 40, of Brooklyn is the ninth biker charged in the case.

Brown, who allegedly struck Lien with his helmet, was held in lieu $300,000 bond at his arraignment Tuesday.

He was slapped Monday with gang assault and felony assault charges for his alleged role in the shocking outburst of violence.

Brown, who lives in Bushwick, has 18 prior arrests dating back to 1989 for drug and weapons offenses, among other crimes, a police source said.

The frenzied assault gained worldwide attention after earlier video of the chase and mob beating in Washington Heights, shot by a motorcyclist’s helmet cam, went viral.

Lien was chased off the parkway after he first bumped one biker and ran over a second, Edwin Mieses, who will likely never walk again.

Lien has told authorities he sped away because he feared for his life, as well as for his wife and child.

One of the previously arrested bikers is undercover NYPD Detective Wojciech Braszczok, who was off duty during the attack.

He was due to testify before a grand jury Tuesday, but his lawyer said Monday that he and Braszczok, 32, had changed their mind.

The lawyer, John Arlia, said the detective should not have been charged with assault and that the only reason why he chased the SUV was that he had witnessed what happened to Mieses and didn’t want Lien to get away.
