Iskra Lawrence Slams Critics Who Call Her "Fat"

Even if you’re a gorgeous model working for a huge brand like Aerie, you still have to deal with body shamers and rude comments online. Iskra Lawrence is super tired of it, and she’s fighting back in a really powerful way.

Some dude called Iskra a “fat cow” on Instagram, commenting that plus-size models promote obesity, that “everyone needs to stop eating McDonald’s” and “people like her [eat] too many bags of crisps.” (FYI: What we call chips, Brits call crisps.) Ugh. So she decided to stage a photo shoot eating crisps (er, chips) and write how she really feels about being body shamed.

“This is for anyone who has ever been called FAT,” she writes. “Opinions are like arseholes - everyone’s got one.”

She also posted a slow-mo video and a big eff you to anyone who dares to try to make her feel bad about herself.

“I do not condone binge eating,” she explains. “I eat whatever I want in moderation. I will eat crisps, but I’ll also make healthy home cooked meals and workout regularly. The message is who gives a F what anyone else thinks of you. YOU are the only one who decides yourself worth✨

And because she doesn’t usually fight back against Insta-trolls, Iskra apologized to her fans for the middle finger, which seems totally appropriate in this situation.

Its just not only white social media yeah Black Twitter can be entertaining and at times actually have SOME influence but if it really replaces REAL activism it could REALLY set us back.

For certain. It's fairly easy to play off of people's desires and insecurities. Especially women. They are most vulnerable. It's all mind games. The money makers understand people. They can create realities for us and many will fall into it like the matrix. Social media allows people to escape physical reality but they cant escape their feelings.

For instance of your post, she should not care what people say negatively about her. She is obviously doing something right about herself, so there should be enough good to negate the negative. But our feelings generally will not allow us to block the things that make us feel bad, so we react to things that truly holds no weight.

Predatory money makers prey on those who suffers or lacks the ability of 'fuck it'. Many of us are just trying to make it in a society where money is above all morality. People will forever be the expense for greed and power.

So how should be play this game because even our progression, the black progression, will come at the detriment of our own without malice. It's just the nature of capitalism and money. Play the people, make em feel good or bad about themselves and gain something from it.

The matrix, bruh. We living in it.

I know my reality is created to function in society. I know I can do and like whatever I want even if it's good or bad.

But society has set a standard to something that ain't even real. What sucks more is it's the white man's reality and we have to live in it in order to function in this society. That's that bull shit that drives me crazy.
