Bulls fans assemble

So Fred Hoibert comes to the Bulls....no NBA coaching experience at all...and not much NCAA experience either....inherits a team that a great coach built......and gets 5 mill a year off top (more than Tom Tibbs got in his extension...AFTER HE PROVED HIMSELF). That coaching move is VERY similar to what happened in Golden State. I dont like to see shit like this...but its business,,,,so it is what it is i guess.

Must be fun to know people in high places.
Knowing those same people will also cover your ass when you fuck up.

WOuldnt be shocked if Brian Scalabrine gets a job soon paying him 7 mill a year.
^^^Didnt the Bulls offer him a coaching job not long ago :hmm:

But anyways...............

Add in the fact that he's coming off a year at Iowa State when he had a perennial Final Four team and lost in the 1st round.....:smh:

Interesting that the Bulls said they talked to players before the firing. So far the only player to put anything out about Thibbs has been Gasol.

Reserving judgment. Honestly don't know much about him or his system to speak on it. He gave a good press conference. That's all I can say.

Yea..good press conference...but its still a wait and see approach. He could come in a be one hell of a coach..but i dont know just yet.

SOme say he runs a GS Warrior type offense. He ran a NBA style offense when he was with Iowa. More open and loose...instead of a bunch of pick and rolls and isolation plays. He had no problem using multiple players...never depending solely on 2-3 players to score all the points.

But my thing is the Bulls made a big leap on the offensive side last year...and still sucked when it counted. We were 28th in the league in 13-14....but 10th in the league last year. Is Fred supposed to make us more consistent WHEN IT COUNTS????????????? We'll see.

I just hope the Bulls hole on to some of the defensive philosophies that TOm Tibby taught them.
Look forward to the draft and fa's. we only got one pick in the draft...i think...maybe we can package something up with that pick and make a trade.

Looks like Hoiberg is trying to steal away one of Pop's assistant coaches.
Chicago Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg is pursuing San Antonio assistant Jim Boylen to be his top assistant coach, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Bulls have received permission from the Spurs to speak to Boylen, league sources said. Chicago has expressed a willingness to discuss the title of associate head coach, league sources said.
The Spurs are fond of Boylen and appear determined to keep him, sources said.

Do the FO want him back? Does he want to come back after they fired him?

He was interim head coach for like 5 months. I remember he got the job around Christmas '07 and couldn't get us nowhere near the playoffs even with the East still hella weak.

Did t Jim boylan coach the Bulls when skills got fired ?

So he'll get a tad bit over 20 mill a year for the next 5. Not bad ...imho. He may have hit his ceiling...but he's still young and is is a top five 2-way player in the league.

It was smart for him to sign the 5 and not sign the 3. You dont know what the future wil hold (injuries etc). Dont let the TV deal, Anthony Davis and LBJ type contracts etc etc make u greedy...get your money now.

Imho...Rose is gone after 2 years. Maybe sooner if they trade him during his final year. I cant see them giving him over 30 per once the new cap kicks in.

Noah & Taj may be off the books soon as well....but i hope they stick around.

Nikola and Snell will be looking for new deals soon, but they still have some proving to do before they demand more cash.

When that new TV money kicks in the Bulls are gonna have some nice money to go after another max player plus more.

I got love for Rose....but making him our second max player in the next 2 years will be a mistake....UNLESS....he comes back next year and plays the entire year like VINTAGE Rose. But even then i dont see him being a 30+ mill a year player.

The Bulls fo has been good at filling voids...as long as they dont pull another Ben Wallace or Carlos Boozer move....im cool.

I look forward to seeing what we do in the future.

BULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really happy we resigned Butler

Honestly that's the only thing they can do at this point. Bulls are in basketball hell. They basically quit against a Cavs team that didn't have Love and Irving was hurt.....:smh::smh::smh: If Cavs stay healthy I don't know how this current roster is going to beat them.

Bulls are in basketball hell.

We been in basketball hell for the last 3+ years because of injuries....yet we're stil here.

We got issues...but to say that we're ALL OF A SUDDEN in basketball hell (like the Knicks) after we've been a top 10 team in the NBA for the last 6 years is silly. Its gonna take a little more than changing a coach to make the Bulls go from top 3 to bottom 3 in less than a year. I can pick 15+ teams that are in basketball hell right now...and not one of them are the Bulls.

Do we have issues? Yes. Could things completely fall a part within the next 2 years if we dont play our cards right? Yeah. Can this squad beat the Cavs if they have Love, LBJ and Kyrie on the floor? Who really knows. Cause LIKE YOU STATED....they didnt even try to beat the Cavs when they didnt have those 3 on the floor.

The Cavs aint the only team in the East that gave us problems. Most act like we were running through every team in the nba besides LBJ's teams. Every night is a fight for us. If we did beat the Cavs, would we have easily beat the Hawks or GS? :dunno:

Players injury history....folks aging....lots of questions....
But everything is up in the air at this point until the roof official collapse.

For me it's all about winning the title, the Bulls organization has basically said it was not the roster but the coaching as to why we didn't win. Hoiberg better be the answer. That game 6 left a really bad taste in my mouth, something that I can't forget. They fucking quit! You couldn't beat that Cavs team with all the injuries they had.....:smh:

They better be ready come next season because that Milwaukee team is on the come up. So they better be ready, management don't have Thibs to blame anymore if they don't get it done.

Only team in Chicago that's getting my respect is the Blackhawks, that's a real damn team.

Yeah that Monroe signing is Milwaukee's biggest come up via the draft or free agency in quite some time. The Central is going to be a bitch for the Bulls to try and get 3rd place in let alone win it.

Not with our management team and Reinsdorff at the helm :smh:

I was about to say "not with Gar, Pax and Jerry."

But now that ya'll mention it, I do wonder if we cook up a legit package to send OKC for KD at the deadline, because I don't think he's staying. Give them a nice package to build around Westbrook to convince him to stay the following summer.

I imagine it'd be hard to beat a trade that included 2 out 3 of Noah, Taj and Pau. And then one of our rookie contract guys.

I won't get my hopes up, but man...

Its good that the Bulls are getting Fred some good veteran coaching help.
They say they plan to play the same type of defense that was ran under TOm Tibby....the main thing that will be adjusted is the offense. Which is what needed to happen a long time ago.

Whats yet to be seen is how the players will perform for their new coach. And if everyone can stay healthy. We didnt have a healthy team last year...nor most of the previous years.

I was about to say "not with Gar, Pax and Jerry."

.

Durant worries me...with that foot.

But the Bulls do need to consider trading Rose, but not until after next year (during his final year). I think teams want to see him play a full year...including a few playoff games ....before they consider him via a trade.

Btw...the reason i want them to trade Rose is because I dont think he's gonna resign. Even before all the so called Rose vs Butler shit..I always thought he would leave Chicago once his deal was up. I think his Brotha, BJ etc all want him to leave Chicago. If the Bulls let him go in FA and dont get anything back for him.....:itsawrap:

His deal is up after two years. At the end of that second year the cap will be over 100mill. If they offer Rose 33+ a year...id actually be pissed.

Noah, Taj a few other guys will be off the books as well. That 19 that Butler getting aint shit when u consider what the cap will be. Nikola will get over 14 per...maybe more if he comes out putting up big numbers within the next 2 years. Its gonna be interesting to see where the Bulls spend the rest of that free money.

Cool!

He said he's had the best off season of his career. If he can stay healthy.....i can see him having a great year.

But word is they might have him on the bench more....well when Gasol is playing. They say Gasol works better with Nikola and Taj. Which may be true because both Nikola and Taj have the talent to move around and not stay stuck in one spot because of lack of game on the offensive side; a la Noah. It also makes sense to start Nikola. Even tho he no where near as great as Noah on defense...he can give us 20 and 10 as a starter. Considering the fact that this new offense is supposed to be faster and more "free flowing"...sorta like how the Warrior play...i can understand why they would consider making changes to the starting rotation.

Gotta see how it works out tho.

Most dont know this because we're stuck in NFL mode....but basketball is right around the corner. Like 4 weeks a way.....

Cant wait!!

BULLS!!!!!!!!!!

Soooooo now that the finals are done and over with, we are going back to injuries being a viable excuse for failure?????

That rule applies to some teams more than others.

stop making excuses for LBJ sucking more times than not in the finals.
Ok , i get it now… It only applies to teams you like, with out a player named LeBron on it..
Good, I was starting to worry you were turning into a irrational ,bitter hypocrite, who cherry picks his information, just so that you can warp the world into a more suitable environment for your mental delusions..

First preseason game.
Didnt see the actually game...but i heard Doug looked great.
We're gonna need some SF help since Mike Dunlevy is out for a while.
Btw.......Gasol & Rose didnt play; Rose out with the injury.

What do you guys think of the new floor??? I'm glad they decided to get rid of the basketball. Shit looked highschool. Looks more like the Chicago stadium days.

Looks good. Bigger logo and the new fonts is great. I think the red in the lane is a bit darker too.

That boy Bobby Portis been looking good so far. Especially on the boards. He grabbed a few from the mighty Anthony Davis tonight.

Once he improves some of his "rookie flaws"...i think he'll be a good ass player.

Defense looks different with this new starting 5.
A few flaws.....
Butler is really the only good defender in our starting 5.
But then again.....we never had more than 2 good defenders in our starting 5.
Even when we had the best defense in the league.
We basically suffocated teams with TEAM DEFENSE....not one on one.

The offense looks good so far. When Noah was on the floor....teams didnt have to worry about him.....they just hung around the paint. Nikola brings them out...which opens the lanes.

Got players like Noah, Taj, Doug, Brooks, Snell etc. coming off our bench. We have the deepest bench in the league.

We're still meshing....But its gonna be a interesting year.
Imho...we're the best in the East.

BULLS!!!!!!!!

They can only get better.. but also have to learn how to keep a team down once u get them down too...
