Bulls fans assemble

We need Rose to give effort like this all the time. My issue wasnt the lack of production, it was that he looked disinterested and was just going through the motions. With the way this offense works, if you have a guy like Derrick that can create its almost unstoppable defensively. The only variable is are they, or are they not hitting shots. But there will be good looks.

Havent typed much in this thread.....mainly cause i dont go into full "BULLS MODE" until after the Bears season is officially over.
But Ive been watching a lot of Bulls games.......hearing/seeing all the bs.....etc etc.

Ill save the chatter for now and just say, keep an eye out for Bobby Portis. Boy been balling hard lately.
They say he's already earned a spot in the rotation after filling in a few games for Noah.

Out of all the "Qualified Rookies" Bobby has played the least amount of games (11).
He plays limited mins, yet he's already climbing up the charts:

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/scoring-per-game/position/rookies

Cant wait to see what he does with extra weight (he's only 6'11" 230lbs) and more mins.
If Noah gets traded.....his mins should bump up a bit. Right now he gets a little over 19 per.

BULLS!!!!!!!!!!

didn't get to see much of portis in college, heard he had a decent motor, i've actually been impressed with his ability to stretch the floor

Bulls were down 15 at one point in the 4th quarter today.
But Jimmy Buckets today.....
2 points in the 1st half......40 in the second.
:smh: CRAZY!!

Bulls seem to be getting things together bit by bit.
Rose looked a little better prior to his hammy injury.
Once we MESH a little more....we can then start talking about being LEGIT contenders.
Especially with Pau playing in beast mode; cause he wants that FINAL big contract.

I hear Derrick is about to get an MRI with lingering knee pain...:hmm::smh:

Make it 5 in a row!!!
Jimmy leads the way again (points and assist).

Minus the to's, Rose also had another good game as well; in his first game back from injuries.

Gasol still in beast mode. I wonder who gonna splurge on him once he leaves after this year.

Btw...it seems like we're rotating thru starting forwards every few weeks..
Wonder if this will be a reoccurring thing all year....

Up Next: going for 6 vs Boston on Thursday

BULLS!!!!!!!!

 Rose looked like himself last night, he played with that energy and attack mode mentality :pain:

He had another good game last night. Good to seem him actually TRYING to put up points. I think thats one of the reasons we've been winning games. Earlier it seemed as if he wasnt even trying. But maybe he was injured..:dunno:

Win streak now up to 6
We've also hit 100+ points for the 9th straight game.
That hasnt been done by a Bulls team since the 1995 Jordan team.

Lots of balance in that Celtics game.

Gasol almost had 20 points & 20 rebounds. Gasol has given us a lot since he came here, but he's really showing out this year (wants that new money).

Butler had a double double and Rose showed a lot of quickness; driving to the hole etc.

Im still waiting to see what Noah can contribute once healthy; if the Bulls dont trade him beforehand.

Btw.....Mike Dunleavy Jr is still on our team. ...lol. Folks havent seen him or heard about him since last year....but he's still 3-4 weeks away from returning to the court. I honestly dont see him coming back until early March. Mike is a great outside shooter and helps us spread the floor..which will help open things up for Jimmy, Rose, Gasol, Portis etc. When he returns he'll be welcomed with open arms.

Up Next: Hawks on Saturday

BULLS!!!!!!!!!

They been on a good run. I hope it continues. We still need the glue guy back in the rotation. Once Dunleavey gets back the rotation will improve.

Coming off a 2 game slide....we finally pick up a win.

No Rose...No Gasol.
Believe it or not...we were actually down by over 20 points at one time.
I actually turned off the game and started watching re-runs of Martin.
Wasnt gonna sit through a blew out against the fucking 76ers.

But then Jimmy started lighiting it up!

Jimmy had a career night tonight. He also ties Steph Curry for most points (53) by a player this season.

Besides Doug...no one else gave us close to 20 points. I thinking our team rebodunign is what kept us in the game (53 to 34)

Up Next: Tomorrow vs Mavs

We got a interesting stretch coming up.
Mavs, Pistons, Warriors, Celtics, Cavs, Heat, Lakers, Clippers, etc
These next few games will tell us a lot about this team.

BULLS!!!!!!!!!

Joakim Noah out 4-6 month with sepearated shoulder; damn that might be it for him in Chicago :smh:

I saw the injury in real time and knew it was bad by the way he reacted.

This might put those Taj and Gasol trade rumors on ice.

Joakim Noah to undergo what will likely be season-ending surgery

Derrick Rose knows all about injuries that can derail a season.

Heck, injuries that can alter a career.

That’s why the Bulls point guard was using words like “devastating’’ in discussing the left shoulder injury to teammate Joakim Noah on Friday night.

As first expected, the Bulls announced on Saturday that the MRI showed a dislocation that will require surgery. Noah was likely to be on the shelf for the next four-to-six months, which is not only a season-ender for the veteran big man, but could close the book on his career with the Bulls as he’s headed to free agency this summer.

“It hurt,’’ Rose said, when asked what it was like seeing Noah in the locker room following the injury. “It hurt just knowing how hard he works, how hard he wants to be on the court, how much he means to this team. It’s devastating, but we have to come back in here and make sure the guys are ready. Everybody has to be ready, but you never know. He’s a big piece, he’s a big piece.’’

Rose was right. Noah has been a big piece – in the past.

This season, however, not as much, losing his starting spot midway through training camp, with first-year coach Fred Hoiberg opting to have Noah come off the bench and work with the second unit.

Basically, the first domino to fall in what has been a rocky year for Noah.

The Sun-Times reported earlier this week that, according to a source, Noah was still very unhappy with his standing in the organization, and “still hasn’t moved past losing his starting job.’’ The source went onto say that Noah “hasn’t been a distraction by any means, but isn’t the biggest Hoiberg fan these days.’’

It was not the first time Noah’s unhappiness was whispered about this season, with Noah feeling like he would be better served as a starter, or at least on the court more often in crunch-time.

Privately, the Bulls were hoping that winning games would have cured Noah’s woes, but that wasn’t happening.

Then in a Dec. 21 game against Brooklyn, Noah first injured the left shoulder, suffering a small tear. He missed the next nine games, watching the Bulls go 7-2 without him, and becoming the subject of heated trade talks.

Ideally, the Bulls were hoping that Noah would perform to the level he was playing at right before the Brooklyn game, continue to up his stock, and then move the remaining $13.4 million left on this season’s deal. With the emergence of Bobby Portis, as well as Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic, the thought was a surplus of bigs made Noah expendable.

No longer.

“Man, anything can happen up here, man,’’ Rose said of how this will affect the team. “We’re saying that now this year. That’s something that we never thought would happen. He’s a big piece of our team, and he is going to miss awhile now since it’s dislocated, and we’ve just got to find a way to grind games out. Throughout the game, just find ways to maintain the lead, and play that way.’’

Joakim Noah out 4-6 month with sepearated shoulder; ’’

Bulls wasnt gonna keep him anyways.
Sucky part about this is the fact that his trade value has dropped.
Which means the he'll heal over the summer....come back healthy and ready to ball hard for another team....unless some team bites on a trade.
That injury aint too much different than the one Kevin Love had last year. So it aint a "career ender". Imho....Noah still has some value.

More bs...
The Bulls lack depth at Center.
Noah hasnt gave us much this year...and the Bulls will likely sign a FA...but still.
Noah's board grabbing, passing and energy will be missed.

The Bulls are starting this up and down shit again.
Same thing they did under Tom Tibby.
If they dont find some consistency after the break...:itsawrap:...as far as competing for a title is concerned.

I feel bad for Jo. My favorite Bull in this current crop... But this is better for Bobby, and while not in rebuild mode. The Bulls need to see if the kids can play. Is Niko steak, or bologna, Can Bobby make the adjustments now that there's tape on him??? The Bulls went winning a chip anyway, so Jo going down doesn't really change anything. Hate that this is how he goes out though.

Damn, so that was probably Jo's last game as a Bull :(

Or maybe not....
Here's a nice write up on the situation and his career as a Bull.

http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/samsmith/joakim-noah-lost-four-six-months-shoulder-surgery

Noah is about to turn 31. The Bulls could work something out with him and make him a Bull for life.
Having a player like him coming off our bench or even starting (and playing Duncan type mins) would be GREAT.

More than likely Gasol is gone after this year. I dont see the Bulls paying him the type of money that he'll be looking for.
Especially if they plan to splurge on D Rose (I hope not) in a few years.
I cant see the Bulls losing two talented big Men next year....so they may opt to keep one.
That one may be Noah.

But that all depend on what Noah is looking for. If he wants a title...i can easily see him bouncing and joining a contender next year.
Like I stated....this aint a career threatening injury. His main "injury issues" were with his legs/feet, but a lot of those issues were corrected.
I think he stil has something left in the tank. He's still a great defender and still a great passer.
I just hope he doesnt feel home sick and want to go to NY. He wont be winning shit there anytime soon.

Noah and Hoiberg apparently dont see eye to eye on him coming off the bench

What is there to hold him to the Bulls long term?

Please dont say some romantic notion of loyalty and love for the organization

Organizations win championships not players

The Eddie curry gift is now over.

Nothing to show for that trade still.

Well except dougie because we used the bobcats pick for him which came from Tyrus Thomas

I aint even saying you should keep Noah

I am just curious as to why anything outside of money would keep Noah in chicago

Is he super close with Butler?

Noah about to go to Cleveland to play with Lebron...gonna be like Artest with Kobe...

Hes still a decent rebounder, defender and energy guy. For the right price I wouldn't turn him away. But 14 mil a season??? Naaa mayne. Not gonna happen. The issue is like Chitown said the Bulls can't seriously have both centers come off the books in 1 off season. You think the D is bad now??? Gotta get/keep someone. But who will be out there??? They might have to give Noah 7-8 mil and hope he's not on some fuck you and your coach shit. I've been saying since last year Rose going down put the Bulls in rebuild mode. No one wanted to see, or hear it though. They have to rebuild this entire roster and frankly... It could get ugly as soon as next year. But it ain't the coach, you saw it last year under Thibs.

fam, miami ain't even going to be able to keep whiteside, he up for a max contract :itsawrap:...

unless they decide to pay him :dunno:

Yeah, even with the cap increase coming from the TV money, in order for them to keep Whiteside, they gotta let Deng walk and get Wade to take a pay cut again.

Deng is expendable with Winslow. Green may be a free agent this summer. I don't recall his contract length. If Riley is smart he'll trade Dragic in the off season and resign Whiteside.

Y'all losing Noah may be a blessing in disguise. Gives PT to Portis to develop like McDermott has gotten some action with Dunleavy missing action.

I'd gladly take Dragic for Rose at this point. Rose has the ability... But what good is a Benz that stays on the shop, or only works under the right conditions?
