Bulls fans assemble

Already getting ready for the off-season. I think we will challenge Philly for worst in the east next year. Noah leaving for sure and maybe P. Gasol and Rose and Butler are on the table. I see a few tank seasons coming:smh:.

We traded Bairstow for one of Detroit's PGs, Spencer Dinwiddie (sp?). He could be aight. He didn't get any burn in Detroit behind Jennings and Steve Blake.

Knicks want Rose, but don't have shit to give us but money. But we might as well just wait out Rose's contract and see if who we can get after that because the FA point guards this year are trash aside from Conley.

Thibs wants Butler like I said he would. They were talking about giving us the lottery pick (Thibs never did like playing rookies). But I'd only do it if we were getting Wiggins and the pick.

Dinwiddie was solid in college before he tore his knee up. He's a big PG at like 6'5. Bairstow didn't provide shit so this could work out.

Welp, looks like we are about to be back to the 2000 - 2007 years :smh:, I am not looking forward to this season.

Same here, but I dont think its as bleek as it seems, and even if so, rebuild time. The two young points [dinwiddie/grant] are intriguing, both big points. Valentine is a solid pickup also. It would be great to get a nice 3 from FA to end the McDermott/Snell/Dunleavy experiment. Key is goin to be Hoiberg's system, which I admit I am worried about due to his aloofness and too calm demeanor [heart issue?].

They said thats why they picked up Grant. They say he was a first round talent who only shined during the final games of last season because the Knicks/Rambis ran a more "free flowing" offense, instead of the triangle; which aint meant for a lot of players. He put up some good numbers in the final 6 games. Some think Grant can flourish under Hoibergs offense and make a "C. J. McCollum" type leap. Far fetched..imho....but we'll see.

With Rose, Noah and Gasol gone, Butler will see his stats increase. Much like he did last year when Rose wasnt on the floor. But I think we'll take a few steps back as a team. I think next year theyll start feeling players. out Seeing who fits, who doesnt. I dont think theyll dig deep into the FA pool until after next year; once we have a few players off our books.

I wouldnt be shocked if we made the playoffs as a 7th or 8th place team. The East is much improved, but lets not act like its stacked with teams that can compete for a title..

I just dont know about any of the moves the bulls front office are doing at this point.
:smh:
I like Valentine from MSU though.

But my question is what coach are they gonna get after 2017
when they fire Tim Floyd 2.0
:rolleyes2:

Early bet; Steve Prohm?

Since this franchise seems to have a hard on for mediocre coaches from Iowa, seems like a fair bet.

Valentine seems like he'll be a decent shooter. He's just slow as fuck.

If we make some decent signings in FA, I might be interested this year.

I think something like Mahinmi, Jeff Green and Brandon Jennings (1-year deal) would be reasonable and achievable.

The Bulls will get scraps this off-season. No buzz for my squad:smh:.

Theyll try to trade Taj soon....
Thats all i heard.

Obviously theyre getting rid of everything from that Tom Tibby era.
Butler was gonna be gone as well.....but teams didnt bite.

Theyre tryna get younger and faster....but most of what they got so far are "wait and see" type players.

Soon imma just shut out the NBA shit and focus on the Bears.

Not a word. The only person I've seen us linked to all week is fuckin' E'Twan Moore.

This is why big free agents don't want to come here - the Bulls FO is stagnant as shit.

GarPax just doesn't have the juice to make the proactive moves it takes to take this team over the top.

I'm so tired of GarPax always being on some "wait and see" bullshit in free agency. That's why we always end up with trash.

This is the time they should be getting at the younger, cheaper, athletic free agents who could make us a good squad in the future. Thus, making us look more attractive to a big free agent in the next season or two.

But so far, it looks like they're going to still rummage thru the trash of the free agency again.

It's always:

"let's see what we can do with the guys we already have"

"let's see what free agents fall to us"

"let's see if we can re-sign this player after he tests free agency"

"let's see if we have enough cap room to keep this guy"

"let's see what trade offers we get for this guy"

Etoinne Moore parlayed his good play into a new contract somewhere else. Good looks for the E. Chicago Ind. native. Taj will be gone before Thanksgiving.

New Bulls guard Rajon Rondo says he can make it work with Butler, Wade

CHICAGO -- Among the first few questions asked to Rajon Rondo during his introductory news conference at the Advocate Center Thursday is who is the top guy on the Chicago Bulls for the 2016-2017 season?

Could it be himself, the NBA's leading assist man from a year ago? How about 12-time All-Star Dwyane Wade, who agreed to a contract with the team on Wednesday? Nope. For Rondo, it's all about the guy who is already here. "Obviously I think it's Jimmy's team," said Rondo.

He, of course, is referring to Jimmy Butler, the two-time All-Star who is the biggest player left in a "retool" effort by the Bulls following a playoff-less campaign in 2015-2016. Forman deflected that question the day Derrick Rose was traded, but Rondo confidently said that the team's leading scorer from a year ago leads the way.

"Jimmy's the youngest, he's the engine here," said Rondo, who joins Butler after signing a two-year, $28 million deal with the team. "It will be Jimmy, Wade and then a pecking order."

Who's going to be following that? Who knows. His signing along with Wade's comes as a major surprise to Bulls fans after Forman said the team was looking to specifically get younger a few times leading up to the NBA Draft and free agency. Rondo comes to the Bulls at 30 years old after 10 years playing with the Celtics, Mavericks and Kings. Wade arrives at the age of 34 and will turn 35 on Jan. 17 in the middle of his 14th NBA season.

Both are strong personalities with plenty of experience in the league and now they join Butler, a 26 year old with his own opinions to share, on a team coached by Fred Hoiberg, who is entering his second year as an NBA head coach. Can this work? "The main thing is that we have three 'Alphas.' There will be three 'Alphas' on the team," said Rondo. "Just trying to mesh together and try to make sure we are doing the best thing for the team."

There is history to prove that Rondo can make this work. In Boston he worked with "The Big Three" of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, bringing the Celtics franchise their greatest amount of success since the Larry Bird era of the 1980s. Rondo was on the point when the Celtics won their 17th NBA Championship in 2008 and helped the back to the Finals in 2010 when they lost to the Lakers in seven games.

"I was able to see how those guys interacted one another. Knowing that not everything has to be perfect in practice. You are going to disagree," said Rondo of his time with "The Big Three" in Boston. "If you all have one common goal and that's to get a 'W' at the end of the day, than that's all that matters. "Egos all go out the window and we have one common goal," he said. The next year will prove if Rondo can make that happen again, even if a younger player is the face of the franchise.

Wade and Rondo used to go at it in the playoffs, it'll be interesting to see if they can co-exist given their history:
