Me too Lonestar (braces myself for the LD special!) and it would be nice if we can clarify terms because I have clear guidelines from my own life what it means to dominate or submit but the topic seems "muddy".
Submission is not synonymous with weakness and dominance is not synonymous with strength. It takes a tremendous amount of personal fortitude and trust to yield some authority (most people cant even do this in the work place let alone in a private situation) and many a weak individual will try to control a situation by force and call it dominating when in fact it is a facade for being bitch made and fearful. That is not a strength and that is not leadership. That's little people trying to act big to hide the truth.
