I'm gonna have to go back and check out that episode when Bobby and Wags were having the conversation about giving him a raise. I couldn't understand wtf that was about because dude was seemingly worthless as a trader, just a peon who was there to collect a paycheck....

but it if they found out that the Feds were watching them at that time, then they may have developed a strategy to develop their own personal mole by finding a weak loyal employee who is self aware enough to know how weak he is....reward him and pay him above what he thinks he's worth so he'll be even more indebted to them and feel the need to be extra loyal and do whatever is asked of him.
They increased his pay but they added some responsibilities that he wasn't aware of.

READ WARILY IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN YET Might have been the first time I actively rooted for Paul Giamatti's self-righteous Chuck Rhoades the way he fucked up Anthony Edwards's corrupt, profiteering judge, which lead me to another thought. It's really subtle and well done the way the writers are starting to shift the two leads.

Axe was the Robin Hood protagonist, and Chuck Rhoades kinda started off as the Sheriff of Nottingham antagonist. Now we all knew Axe was smart and cut-throat, we all knew he walked that ethical highwire, but that always pertained to business -- that was to be respected, but last night showed a bit of Bobby Axelrod being truly evil. The way the flashbacks unfolded, the clear way he manipulated Donnie, then told his doctor NOT to tell him about the drug trail that could have extended his life so that he could die right when he needed him to to fuck Chuck... wow! For the first time, I could start to see Bobby as an antagonist.

Axe is still my man, but Wendy Rhoades starting to get suspicious, and after last night Chuck may have the moral high-ground... looks like they might be setting up Axe finally getting caught up. I know there's only two eps. left but I can't wait to see how this show continues to develop.



Another tidbit -- I'm a little disappointed they finally got Condola Rashad in bed and I ain't see nothing -- not a cheek of ass, not a sideboob, nothing... and was it me or did she look underwhelmed the next morning. I mean I know it's a TV show, but that was an awkward "oh, you're still here"smile at best, not a "goddamn, my back is blow'd out, let's do it again" look.

And Malin Akerman's Lara Axelrod is every bit the conniving equal of her husband. They set that up from the beginning, but I like the way she always tries to keep her two boys in check. That's some real life mom shit she's on.

I think this was the best written ep. yet. I feel you on Chuck. The way he had the Feds raid the judge's send off was straight up ruthless. But that POS deserved worse and the weird bruh w/ the crazy Afro got some shine.

yeah I was pissed to see them grinning in bed... fuck that- show some tit and that ass

Axe is still honestly ruthless - Chuck is still deceiving himself... Chuck didn't give a shit about what the judge was doing and even protected him until he was in his way.
Another thing is Axe has been playing defense and tripping up Chuck with love taps - if they ever really make the flip - and Axe goes on the offense EVERYONE gets destroyed... I can't believe the show has Chuck so blinded by ambition that he refuses to see where he will destroy himself if he successfully brings down Axe

that's why that chess story was so priceless (great scene)...as clear as he thinks his head is...he's still blinded by the rage to some extent...him being home cuz his wife basically kicked him out the funeral? no way he buried that shit deep enough not to feel driven by it...and she playing a dangerous game too...she really thinks she can be neutral...but axe and the wife kinda keeping her on the outside might have her finally "siding" w/ her husband even tho it'll be outta spite...great ep

He didn't fund terrorist. He didn't put money on terrorism. He didn't try and cape for terrorist. He just saw some shit going on and made money from it.

I agree about Donnie, it's kind of fucked up but Donnie wouldn't have had access to the drug trial or Doctor otherwise so it's not like he took something from him. Plus he got 40 million to leave to his family

What's fucked up about it though? Donnie was about to die. Axe did absolutely nothing wrong or evil. He asked his friend to help him out of some shit and his friend was happy to do it. Donnie fucked up his money giving it to his wife and wasn't leaving the legacy he wanted behind so Axe made sure he left enough money to ensure his family is good when he's gone. Where is the world we live in where someone just gives someone 40 million dollars out of the goodness of their hearts? It don't exist. Nobody reading this would do it for anybody they know that they work with PERIOD.

He's just a regular dude imo. He's driven to succeed and that's why he's successful. If people hating on him were as passionate about being successful as they are as passionate about hating him they'd have a lot more going for themselves.

He is also incredibly smart. Being passionate about being successful and incredibly smart while being a white man results in a billion dollars.

Well not really because Donnie had accepted his fate and was ready to give up on life He wasn't trying to fight it he was just preparing to go. So it's not like Donnie was asking Axe constantly how can i fight it is there something we can do can i go to another country and try some experimental shit. He was dead. That's what axe picked up on when he spotted him after the meeting. He gave his last moments some purpose.

Right, that's why the whole Doctor thing was pointless. He didn't need to put no more icing on the cake Donnie was content. There was no need for him to make that intro.

That was a fantastic episode. To your point about Axe becoming the villain, when they showed the flashback of him speaking to the doctor, I called him a scumbag. To do that to Donnie for his own personal gain was some truly evil shit.

On another note about Axe, that fake argument scene with dollar Bill and the setup to destroy the firm of those three that left Axe Capital in the middle of the night was brilliant. I couldn't stop smiling at both the fake argument scene and when Axe showed up to pick up the pieces.

I feel like Axe's wife might be barking up the wrong tree with Wendy. Wendy might be getting little parts of the puzzle, but it is all coincidental now. Trying to get her to step in on behalf of Axe on the previous episode was a mistake on Lara's part. We've seen how things go when Lara wants to scheme on someone, but I think there is a part to Wendy we haven't seen yet that might come back to bite Lara in the ass if she is messed with.
