Amazing. Are you serious?![]()
And this is why Apple stays winning. Synching itself is not amazing. What is amazing is the stuff happening out the box pretty much automatically, it's a great user experience especially for average user.
Just FYI,
My media server is running off of a variant of FreeBSD UNIX and the entire OS is on a flash drive. I'm sharing data across my gigabit ethernet LAN and 802.11n 5ghz only wireless via SMB, AFP, and NFS protocols. I'm using OSX's built in autofs support to automount my media shares on my devices. I tuned my FreeBSD kernel and do lots of configuring, ifperf tests, etc via the CLI. I have a service doing dynamic dns and using port forwarding, my media is available any where I have cell phone service. I have a computer dynamically transcoding my streams based off of the capability pf the device requesting the stream. I have my entire music collection ripped losslessly and a have a playback system that I can control from a remote on the iPad or iPhone. I have IR blasters that through my wifi allows me to turn on any of my components from any room in my house from my ipad or iphone and control volume, switch channels, switch inputs, etc. I have all of my BluRays and DVDs ripped, I don't switch in any media, be it discs, usb drives or sd cards to access my media.
Since you're mister Great Tech, why don't you post your setup? You always have something to say, what do you use your tablet/phone to do? I'm waiting to hear your response...
