Best kodi builds?

Well, frankly they're stupid. If my father, who's probably the most computer illiterate person on the planet, and an elder gentleman I know, that's 87 years old I might add, have no problems, I don't know what to say about the people you're associated with.

Cats were complaining about unstable streams in the UFC thread. I just laughed.

Thank you for sharing how to get a stable stream on Kodi. Also, Fuck You for laughing dickhead.

spinz tv. its on ares. i've used that build on several boxes and so far no complaints. i tried pulse, apollo and beast for my mom and she ended up liking spinz the most.
I haf a previous build and the streams would hardly load. Then a guy one one of my jobsites had sticks for sale, i putchased one for a friend and it had the spinz build on it. After playingbwith it i had to give dude mine to erase and put spinz on it, been satisfied ever since

Yea i think out of all the builds spinz is the most consistent right now. i went ahead and put it on my pc and tablet too. i like that there's several versions of the build too. when my friend gets paid this friday i am ordering her another android box for her daughter's tv. ima put the kids version of spinz on that one before i give it to her. a co-worker of mine told me last week after playing around with several builds he settled on spinz too. as much free advertising kodi is getting these cable companies are gonna be in real trouble if enough people start cutting the cord.

I fuck with the Beast mainly. It's legit.
I tried a Prometheus build the other day... It seems to be cool because you can set it to auto-clear the cache. Which I can't do with the Beast

Yeah.. fam its happening again. kats dropping straight knowledge up in here without cutting that shit. NOObs gonna OD on the pureness when they need that "reggie" so I’m going to try to offer you some "reggie" until you ready for that straight up blow your mind shit. Ok, lets get started.

TERMINOLOGY

BUILD: There is only 1 build at a time to try with KODI. So a build is like the house.

Programs: They are like the rooms in a house / You can have multiple programs in a build.

Add-ons: Now here comes the furniture in the house. You can have lots of add-on (video -music-sports-tv-etc...)

So a build is the house or carrier of the programs and add-ons.

A program is the rooms of the house. Each program has its own features. ( Ares Wizard is considered a program)

Add-ons The ability to run what you like to watch by clicking on a add -on link. (123 movies , Primewire, woody etc..)

YOUTUBE

Youtube is a great source to learn about KODI & ADD-ons. The problem is their is both too much information or conflicting information on the same thing. The key is to be selective in what you need to learn. If you want to learn about a particular thing, use youtube as a way of introducting you to that particular thing and not look at much more than that. For instance if I want learn how to install Kodi onto a firestick, there are a gazillion youtube videos on how to do that and then more. I would not trying to try to focus on the videos that a clear produced, easy to understand and without all the extra chatter about the this and that. If you watch enough videos you know some people should not be allowed to make videos. Stay away fromm there. Find a few vidoes that are focused, easy to follow and start there.

When you want to learn about a particular add on do the same BEFORE installing. This way you can get an idea if its going to work for you or should you even bother with it. Youtube videos are great but can be a detriment if your looking at one that does not explain crucial steps, does not give details as to what steps must be taken or filled with too many distractors.

ANDOID BOXES & FIRESTICKS

There are way too many out there. A lot of people use the fire stick because its cheap and fast to put KODI on, don't use a lot of resources and can be plug into damn near anything but the main draw is that its a small investment. You get the benefit of having an Firestick with the pretty looking gui provided by Amazon and Kodi loads fast and easy onto it.

An android box is similar but can handle a lot more. Why? because it's basically a mini computer running android OS. Sort of like a windows pc but it’s an android underneath. The same android that runs a phone. As far as what type of android boxes? Way too many. There are the low ends up to the higher ends. Obviously the more you spend the more you get in terms of power, efficiency, etc. You don't have to spend a fortune to get up and running. I suggest start off slow, play with it and upgrade as necessary. Kodi will run on all these boxes. The key difference is on some of the high end boxes, the load & streaming aspects can be a lil faster. My advice is to look a few you tube videos of android/Kodi boxes to get a clue which will help you.

Unlike computers, android boxes & firesticks generally can be upgraded via its memory. You get what you get when you purchase the device. Although Kodi & add on don't require a lot of memory or processing power, some of these builds really push them to their upper limits as such, its best to go with the best device your money can afford.

PHONES & COMPUTERS

Yes, you can install Kodi & builds on your phone & computers. It works the same and can be quite easy. because of the advance computer graphics & processors in most modern phones and computers, Kodi & builds tend to load faster & easier because of the underlying computer/processing power. My point is don't be surprised that on your computer Kodi& your build loads faster & easier on your phone/computer than on your fire stick or android box. Underneath, Kodi & add-ons will work the same.

NEWBIES

If you’re just getting started (like myself) I'd suggest you go with a basic build and a basic add-on to learn. there are a shit load of YouTube videos screaming at you to load this build and that build and this add on and that add on but do a shit job of explaining any real details as to what is what. In fact, this very thread is a perfect example of that. You got kats coming in here screaming get this build and that build but offer no reason as to why or how it works or what their setup is. It does make a difference.

for instance, putting a full build of pulse on a fire stick will work a lil or lot different than putting PULSE-lite on the fire stick. the difference is putting Pulse Lite on the fire stick will give you the experience optimize for your device vs putting the full build onto it while it can struggle to keep up with the processing requirements. Now put the same pulse build on an android box will handle it easily.

PATIENCE IS A MUST
Because of the nature of builds & add-ons, they go up and down all the dam time. you can click on a link and it has to process the request, find the resource if available and get it back to your box/fire stick. ITS VERY COMMON that you click on something and it will show that file or stream not available. that's where the patience comes in. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE PERFECT BUILD/ADD-ON THAT EVERYTHING WORKS. Links go up and down all the time (I’m talking minute to minute) so don't trip. Better as in more stable builds come out daily so don't worry and I don't suggest you try to keep up with the jones. If you like your build, stay with it, learn the Kodi/add on ecosystem before upgrading. If you don't learn then you will spend more time chasing builds instead of enjoying your Kodi.

BGOL fam.

don't assume everybody is up on the KOdi game like you. There are plenty of NOOBs like myself who are still learning. Please take the time to correct, expand or enlighten me and the next fam member who will discover this thread instead of trashing or ripping into me. My purpose of contributing was to help similarly situated people such as myself who finds all this kodi talk a bit confusing and overwhelming. Nothing more.

im not going to quote the whole post above me but you did a damn good job of breaking it down. i wanted to say something similar but didnt want to type too much lol. like one of my posts earlier everybody who uses a certain build may have a bias towards others. in the end they all achieve the same end goal. it just comes down to preference or whats easiest to use for newbs like friends and family who you introduce kodi to. so far i've told like 20 people about it and set up at least 10 of those people with fire sticks or android boxes.

The one thing I want to add to the post above that explains in detail, as I've been using xbmc/Kodi for well over 5 yrs and have seen many things come and go.

It's very important to me that when I pick something I'm going to use, I use it because of community support. I tend to use the most popular builds, like Pulse-CCM is one of the heavier used and updated builds from Ares forums. All builds are usually the same as far as add-ons, it's just the looks most of the time.

Devices, the same rules apply. Have your budget in mind for a box, I have a few, and go with what has a heavy community support as you don't want to buy something and a year from now there are no updates to the firmware or any development.

So it takes a lil bit of research on your own, a slight learning curve. But there are many other Kodi threads on here as well to help.

Fusion/addon installer and pick the stuff you need. No need really for a build and all that extra stuff

Just wanted to say thanks. This had me up and running on my phone in less than 5 minutes! Easy as can be. Would anyone happen to know how to stream this from my phone to my chromecast?

Yeah.. this thread has potential but everybody is talking over each other instead of simply dropping facts. Im trying to get a handle on kodi but its way too many builds to get your head around initially and I was hoping some of your bgol fam could drop straight knowledge without the bullshit.

Yep

Get the localcast app.

https://kinkeadtech.com/how-to-stream-kodi-to-chromecast-xbox-one-dlna-devices/

A word of warning if you are using this on your main phone and not a spare or older device. I started with Kodi/XBMC along time ago and have just started playing around with it again. A lot has fucking changed. I would suggest doing a little research on VPN's if you are going to use this on your main Android device like a phone. Especially if you are going to get this pirated shit. Hackers love to hide shit in Warez sites so be careful. Also VPN's let you side step Geolocations blocks that can prevent access to some content and also keeps your ISP out of your business. Remember everything that is free isn't always free.

I use ipvanish for this and the deep web.. 5 bucks and some change per month..

No. Unfortunately I'm still learning my way around. My post was too the kats who have extensive knowledge to share it with the board in a manner tha tmakes sense. Saying get this build or that build without offering any type of context is damn near meaningless. for now i'm sticking with the basic ares build with pulse until i learn more.

If you have the bread many talk about the nVidia Shield. I have the Amazon FireTV as my main box now cause I joined Prime. Also bought a FireStick for my daughter while she's away at college. Also in the crib I have RaspberryPi running OSMC, which is Kodi but made for RaspPi. Some on here bought the Beelink boxes, those are Android boxes also, were about $30. Look for something that is upwards compatible as far as 4k compatible and has a strong community support behind it. So you know it will last some time. I still have AppleTV 1's running OSMC, still supported, slow thru menu's but plays just fine.

Hell yeah. I put a Pulse build on my Fire because somebody recommended it in another thread. I put it on there Sunday and I haven't gotten a single fucking stream to work since then.

The build hasn't helped shit at all, it just makes the interface look pretty. I'm about to Youtube how to take this shit off of here.

All you have to do is a Fresh Start in Ares and will wipe out all. But think you may need to just clear cache, thumbnails. Don't know what you're trying to use, but Exodus and SALTS has just about everything.

I'd probably just delete kodi off and reinstall it. And you can add custom background art to it if you don't want that basic blue screen. Just had put a mustang collage for 1 of my barbers yesterday that finally bought 1

I've been trying to watch some live sports streams thru Sportsdevil and Turks Playlist. None of the live shit works even after clearing the cache, thumbnails and packages.

I just installed Pulse on a Firestick today to try it out. I like it so far. I'm watching The Jungle Book right now. Haven't had any problems so far.
Used the Ares Wizard to install it.

i think the ares wizard is the best installer since it lists most of the major builds out there. what i like most about it is that it tells you how many people downloaded it and how many downloaded it for the week. that gives you some sense on how popular a build is. i think a build wouldnt get downloaded so much if it wasnt any good. thats how i got turned on to spinz. my first build was beast until he changed how you can install it.

Aight I need to go thru this thread and add some of these to the fire stick. I only have exodus now. How's the Sports Devil joint?
