hmmmmmm...

Ok why now every damn time I see Rene face I want to scream and punch the screen?

And why the f*ck didnt DC/WB just give Anell the money to do a big screen Supermax movie?

And @fonzerrillii @ansatsusha_gouki

didn't we NOT have this idea for this season YEARS ago?

And the "new" arrow looks feminine and that scene was NOT their best EFX job.

and I was NOT hyped to see Kirk Acevedo

ad I SHOULD have been.

So no commissioner and no speedy

and apparently Ragmen STILL who apparently got lost in some laundromat.

I don;t know...but I think the prison portion will be EXCELLENT, cause you can tell he has been WAITING for the chance to do this.

It depends, how they use her,if they do it correctly it will fix some of the problems,if not this show have no hope at all.....From,what I understand, she's getting a show herself....I think.

Arrow Season 7 Tone Is Similar To First Season

Fans of Arrow can expect a much darker show in season 7, which will be similar in tone to its first season. Such is the word from executive producer Beth Schwartz, who recently took over showrunner duties on the popular superhero series.

The continually shifting tone of Arrow has long been a source of concern. The show started out as an intense action-drama, which focused on shipwreck survivor Oliver Queen as he struggled to return to his old life while fulfilling his father Robert Queen's dying wish that he save their city from the evil that Robert had helped facilitate. The series brought in more elements from the original comics as time passed, such as Ra's Al Ghul and his League of Assassins. By the end of season 4, the show had Team Arrow fighting super-powered criminals and magic-wielding villains on a weekly basis, prompting a demand to return to more grounded territory. Apart from the annual crossovers with the other shows making up the Arrowverse, the show has remained relatively realistic since season 5, though much more light-hearted than the first season.

Related: Arrow Season 7 Comic-Con Trailer

Schwartz spoke about the upcoming season in an interview with EW. When asked to sum up the new season with a single word, Schwartz said "dark." Schwartz then elaborated: "It's tonally similar to season one. We're going back to our roots. And there's a lot of demons that are going to come out."

Said demons were apparent in the trailer for the upcoming season, which is largely focused on Oliver Queen's new life in prison, having had his secret identity as Green Arrow exposed to the world in the Arrow season 6 finale. Ignoring the problems Oliver faces being locked up with the same criminals he helped to put away, Star City itself is suffering from a crime wave in the wake of a new zero-tolerance anti-vigilante policy, that has apparently hamstrung most of Star City's other superheroes. Worst of all, the supervillain Black Siren has apparently assumed a position of authority while still posing as Laurel Lance and crime-boss Ricardo Diaz is still at large.

All that said, the biggest point of concern for Arrow-heads in season 7 is the identity of the new Green Arrow, who has apparently taken up Oliver Queen's mantle in his absence. The smart money would be on John Diggle, Oliver Queen's right-hand man, whom Oliver asked once before to take up his bow when he tried to retire from superheroism. Another likely guess is Roy Harper, Oliver Queen's protege, who is scheduled to return to the series as a regular character. Whoever the man in the hood turns out to be, he's sure to have his work cut out for him, as Arrow's seventh season opens.

i finished s6. wtf man. when would wild dog not tell the team they pressured him to snitch? why would the team part ways cause oliver was spying on them to find the snitch , even though the city is peril? why would diggle ask like a bitch and bounce when there's a crime syndicate taking over the city in all aspects of the law? why are the feds willing to let a city burn unless oliver admits he's the green arrow in order to help them. wtf was up with that court trial. and diaz is out in the open chilling in the police station? having cops point guns at the diggle and the rest of the team? wtf is wild dog dinah and mr terffic mad as green arrow when all this shit started from wild dog snitching? sidenote, i would not live in star city. that place is fucked up. man made earthquakes, h bombs, crooked judges, cops da's , city councilmen etc. wtf arrow? season 5 ended on a great note.

Arrowverse Crossover to Feature Superman and Introduce Lois Lane — Who Should Play the Iconic Role?

By Matt Webb Mitovich / August 22 2018, 12:30 PM PDT

supergirl-222-24.jpg

This December’s Arrowverse crossover gets more super by the minute.

The three-night, Legends-less crossover event — kicking off Sunday, Dec. 9, with a special airing of The Flash — will not only introduce viewers to Kate Kane aka Gotham vigilante Batwoman (played by Orange Is the New Black‘s Ruby Rose), but also return Superman (played by Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin) to the heroic fray as well.

Kara’s cousin/James Olsen’s BFF won’t be going stag this time around, however. Nope, Supes’ No. 1 gal, intrepid reporter Lois Lane, is coming along for the ride. Get to sharing your dream casting for the role in the Comments below!

“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse,” Supergirlexecutive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said in a statement. “This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.”

Lois Lane’s most notable live-action portrayers have included Teri Hatcher, Erica Durance, and, of course, the late Margot Kidder.

Hoechlin to date has portrayed Clark Kent/Superman four times on Supergirl, most recently appearing in the CW series’ Season 2 finale.

Once again, this year’s Arrowvese crossover event will air Sunday, Dec. 9 through Tuesday, Dec. 11, comprised of the ninth episodes of The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl‘s new seasons.

Arrow Season 7 Scene Pushes the Limits Of Network Television

Season 7 of Arrow will "push the limits" of what can be shown on network television. A scene in an episode of the upcoming season was so intense that censors needed to be called in. Arrow has always been the most violent of all four Arrowverse shows, as the series is known for its dark tone and brutal fight scenes. Season 7 is expected to be even grittier than usual.

The show's sixth season ended with Oliver Queen publicly outing himself as the Green Arrow and turning himself over to the FBI in exchange for their help in taking down Ricardo Diaz. As a part of his deal with the FBI, the rest of Team Arrow was left alone so that only Oliver would be incarcerated. Oliver was sent to a supermax prison and may remain there for quite some time.

Related: The CW's 2018 DC Crossover Event Will Include Superman & Lois Lane

In an interview with Newsarama, longtime Arrow stunt coordinator James Bamford, who will be directing the season 7 premiere, talks about how a certain scene led to a meeting with the network's censors. Bamford explains that their goal is to "push the limits on the show in the gritty factor," and discusses the challenges of doing a show like Arrow on network television:

We are trying to go as far as you can go within the confines of our network and what is expected of us and what we can and can’t do. We are not on Netflix so we will never be able to X, Y, and Z, but we are damn sure going to try.

It's certainly true that Arrow has a lot more restrictions in terms of what it can do with violence on The CW than shows on Netflix, like Daredevil. However, this has never stopped the series from pushing the boundaries in the past. Previous episodes have shown plenty of vicious, bloody battles and other intense sequences that are incredibly rare on network television. The season 5 premiere featured a particularly violent scene where Oliver ruthlessly killed all of his enemies to protect his secret identity. This was the beginning of a new era for Arrow, as it was the moment when Oliver abandoned his strict no-killing policy that he took up in the beginning of season 2.

Considering everything that Arrow has shown over the course of six seasons, it's worth wondering what more the series can do to "push the limits" that hasn't already been done on the show. Chances are, it has something to do with Oliver's current situation. While in prison, Oliver will encounter familiar faces who he helped put behind bars, which will most certainly cause problems for Oliver in the near future. Stephen Amell has already talked about taking a beating during filming. Living in a supermax may prove to be a constant, brutal fight for survival for Oliver Queen in season 7.

They better be somehow setting up for a Superman spinoff on the DC Universe streaming network..

and it seems like he the only"big" character that the CW can get away with using..with the exception of the Flash they got to get permission from WB/DC to use Batman,Wonder Woman,Aquaman,or Green Lantern and the Lantern Corps

Elizabeth-Tulloch-cast-as-Lois-Lane-for-Arrowverse-crossover.jpg

Elizabeth Tulloch has been cast as the intrepid reporter Lois Lane for the 2018 Arrowverse crossover event. Starting with Arrow in 2012, The CW's shared DC superhero TV universe has expanded to encompass The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl - all four of which have crossed over over twice now, in 2016's Invasion!" and last year's "Crisis on Earth-X". While 2018's crossover event won't include the Legends, it will introduce a major new player to the franchise in the form of Ruby Rose (The Meg) as Kate Kane aka. Batwoman.

The plan is for Rose to make her debut as Batwoman during this as-yet untitled crossover, before then spearheading her own TV series in 2019. However, her character isn't the only special guest star who's slated to show up during 2018's small screen DC superhero bonanza. Tyler Hoechlin is also confirmed to reprise his Supergirl season 2 role as Kara Zor-El's cousin Kal-El aka. Superman for the event and will be accompanied by his girlfriend and daring Daily Planet journalist, Lois Lane.

Related: Arrowverse 2018 Crossover May Include More Kryptoninans

Variety is reporting that Tulloch will step into the role of Lois Lane for the 2018 Arrowverse crossover, having only just wrapped her longtime role on The CW's dark supernatural fantasy series Grimm last year. The Lois Lane character has been portrayed in live-action on film and television several times over now, with Amy Adams having played her in DC's cinematic universe for the last five years. Meanwhile, on the small screen, Teri Hatcher (who also plays Rhea on Supergirl) portrayed the character on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the 1990s, followed by Erica Durance (another Supergirl costar) and her rendition of a younger Lois on Smallville during the 2000s.

Arrowverse 2018 Crossover Casts Lost's Jeremy Davies as Arkham Asylum Doctor
2
ADVERTISING

Character actor Jeremy Davies is joining the Arrowverse for 2018's crossover event, as a doctor from Gotham City's Arkham Asylum. The 2018 Arrowverse crossover is possibly the biggest one yet. Not only will Superman be involved for the first time ever, but Lois Lane, Gotham City, and Batwoman - otherwise known as Kate Kane - will be introduced into the mix.

It's as a part of that latter aspect that Davies' character will enter the picture. The Arkham doc that Davies is playing is an original creation for the Arrowverse, at least that's the official word at the moment. However, all signs point toward Davies being the main villain, and the reason all the Arrowverse heroes are gathered together for the event.

Related: The CW Sets Dates for Next Arrowverse Crossover Event

TV Line reports that Davies, known for his work on Lost, 2018's God of War video game, Justified, and much more, will be playing Dr. John Deegan. Throughout his career, Davies has made a name for himself at playing strange and very unnerving characters. It appears that Deegan will fall into that same camp. Deegan is described as being just as crazy as his patients at Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. It's Deegan's actions that will draw the main trio of Arrowverse heroes (Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl) to Gotham City.

ADVERTISING

It's been known from the start that 2018's crossover would introduce Gotham City to the Arrowverse. Davies' casting suggests that the majority, if not all, of the crossover will take place in the hometown of Batwoman (and Batman). The primary location of the Arrowverse crossover might be clearer now, but there's still a lot left to be uncovered when it comes to the big event. Not the least of which is the true nature of Davies' Deegan. The Arrowverse has never been averse to introducing original characters, but given his high-profile presence in the crossover, it's likely that Dr. Deegan be hiding another, more famous, identity underneath. Deegan could well simply be the cover facade of a bigger villain, such as Hugo Strange.

ADVERTISING
Even if there's not a twist involving the identity of Davies' character, he can still have a huge impact on the Arrowverse. A leaked casting breakdown for the crossover revealed that The CW was looking for a disturbed psychologist and a powerful alien visitor. Davies' casting seemingly confirms half of that leak, so it's safe to assume that the crossover will also include a new alien, possibly Kryptonian, character. Perhaps this visitor from another planet will make up half of a villainous duo, with Davies' Deegan being the brains and them the brawn. Deegan doesn't secretly need to be a famous villain if he has a Kryptonian partner.

The most exciting detail of Davies' casting though is that it confirms, or at least heavily implies, that Arkham Asylum will be featured in the crossover. The Aslyum is well-known for housing some of the most famous and dangerous supervillains in history. Everyone from The Joker to Two-Face has stayed at Arkham. Cassandra Jean Amell has already been cast as the wife of Mr. Freeze, Nora Fries. This implied that her husband would also make an icy appearance, but Freeze could just be the tip of the villainous iceberg. Pun very much intended.

Arrowverse Elseworlds Crossover Event Casts DC Villain The Monitor
2
ADVERTISING

Designated Survivor actor LaMonica Garrett has been cast as DC Comics character The Monitor in the 2018 Arrowverse crossover. The crossover will be titled "Elseworlds" and will take place across three shows: Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. This year, Legends of Tomorrow will be excluded from the three-night event.

The upcoming crossover will send the Flash, the Green Arrow, and Supergirl to Gotham City where viewers will be introduced to Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose. While the Arrowverse has referenced Bruce Wayne in the past, this will be the Arrowverse's first foray into Gotham City, which is one of the most important corners of the DC Universe. Tyler Hoechlin, who played Superman in season 2 of Supergirl, will be along for the ride as well.

Related: Elseworlds: Arrowverse Crossover Poster Features Wayne Tower Easter Egg

TVLine reports that LaMonica Garrett will play a character named Mar Novu, aka The Monitor, in the crossover. Garrett's character is described as an "extraterrestrial being of infinite power". It's not been made clear if The Monitor will be an enemy or an ally to the heroes of the Arrowverse, but his inclusion does provide at least some clues as to what the story may entail.

In DC Comics, the Monitors are powerful entities who take it upon themselves to observe all occurrences within the Multiverse, including all realities and different points in time. The Monitors actually have a lot in common with the Watchers from Marvel Comics. One particular member of the group, who is simply referred to as The Monitor, was originally seen as an ally of supervillains, but eventually began using his knowledge to help heroes save the Multiverse when necessary.

ADVERTISING
Both Garrett's character and the name "Elseworlds" implies that the event may focus heavily on the Multiverse, or the various alternate realities that exist within the Arrowverse. This could explain the involvement of Supergirl and Superman, since Supergirl takes place in a different universe. The Monitor could serve as a villain, or he could be the force that brings them all together. It's possible that the Monitor will alert the heroes to a threat that could endanger the Multiverse as a whole.

The Monitor joins a growing list of DC Comics characters set to receive their Arrowverse debut in the crossover. The Elseworlds crossover will also introduce Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Jeremy Davies as Dr. John Deegan, and Cassandra Jean Amell as Mr. Freeze's wife. So it's only natural that someone like The Monitor join the fold as well.

they need to keep him in prison for at least 5 to 6 episodes...

That’s the one thing I partially liked about Flash last season was that they committed to him bing in jail for a chunk of the season even though they completely botched the trial episode.
