49ers

Positives

our offensive line missing plenty of people played damn well.

every qb had plenty of time to make the right plays.

Tank/Dial/Lemonier= awesome

Hyde 7ypc excellence.

Negatives
Gabbert and reserve dline and linebackers. lost chickens out there.

and effort

they just didn't play hard.

not the end of the world at all not an indictment on the time of team we're going to be

My take on the game....
Offense first....

Jonathan Martin, Blaine Gabbert, Jewel Hampton are all complete TRASH !!!
:smh::smh::smh::puke::puke::puke::smh::smh::smh:

HOLY SHIT, Jonathan Martin is bad !!!
Dude was getting pushed back & pancaked almost every play
I cant even be mad at Richie Incognito now

Gabbert needs to go NOW
He single handedly stalled each drive in the first half
If Gabbert was my starting QB, I would be smoking weed just as much as Justin Blackmon

Jewel Hampton can't run, can't catch, & can't pass protect
He is completely useless as a RB
And how many years was this dude on the practice squad?

You couldn't even evaluate the offense b/c ALL of our backup QB's sucked so much
I was impressed with...
Carlos Hyde
Bruce Ellington
Stevie Johnson
Vance McDonald (when he doesn't drop the ball)
*Quinton Patton (he was getting open, but Gabbert kept missing him)

gabbert fucked the entire half. 1st possession we moved it like it was absolutely nothing.

from that point on with gabbert it was dead.

johnson did his best to get it back going again but it was too late gabbert fucked

and hampton needs to be cut he's been on this team way too long to be that shitty.

he should know his protections in and out he should know his assignments he should know how to do what to do before anyone else does....

he is not an nfl caliber running back time for him to go.

My take on the game....
Defense....

As a whole, our pass rush looks good, but our run defense needs some serious help
Our backup D-linemen were having problems stopping the run
Tank Carradine look pretty good
He made a couple mental mistakes, but it's his first game in the NFL, so no big deal
You can tell that Tank is very explosive
Same thing with Quinton Dial
Dial is still raw, but you can see the talent is definitely there

Our backup LB's were okay, not good but just okay
Corey Lemonade looked good though (I know I spelled his name wrong)
One person that stood out was rookie Chris Borland
Dude was all over the place... dude is mad WILD... he needs to calm down
He was kinda hot & cold... made some plays & also cost us on some plays too

Our backup corners & safeties were.... meh
No one really stood out
No playmakers
I'm not fooled by that Chris Cook INT, I still need to see more from him

Our backups on defense looked WAAAAAY better, last years preseason than this year !!!

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

well to be fair, our backups started and played the entire game.. and with gabbert stinking up the joint they got an ungodly amount of snaps tonight lol.

purcell needs to be cut though.

and at one point we had tiakafu out there..who was our fullback when miller went down last season.

macdonald looked confident on offense in limited action.

that was a good look.

Blaine Gabbert is a black eye on this team. Baalke needs to stop being fucking cute & cheap & bring in fucking players.

You on point boy... Blaine Gabbert wearing a Niner uniform is disrespect to every Niner that ever wore it & disrespect to every fan who supports this team

#dumpblaine

I was in the building last night fellas. Niner fans were on hand representing proudly.

A lot you guys have pretty much said it all. A few things from me...

Stevie Johnson was consistently shaking whoever guarded him. They couldn't touch him on the line.

Vance McDonald looked much more fluid in everything he did. I'm excited to see him this upcoming season.

Jimmy Ward played Safety, DB & Big Nickel last night. Fangio is moving him all over. Hope he's not throwing too much at him.

Looks like Dontae and Stevie were shining all through the practices.

This is a good thing for us i feel. get us refocused and repurposed in the right direction towards a ring.

Practice Camp Notes

Quick summary of some of the 49ers practices...
We have been practicing against the Ravens for the past few days

OFFENSE
Kaep still looks good.
Blaine Gabbert still looks BAD
Josh Johnson looks okay....slightly better than Gabbert
Our WR's & TE's are still looking good
Boldin & Stevie Johnson are still doing their thing
Crabs & Brandon Lloyd should be back from injury for the 3rd preseason game
Patton got a little banged up today
Vance got banged up in the last game, but should be ready for the Broncos

Marcus Lattimore still has NOT practiced with pads yet!
Our run game looks good... going to the left
*We might have a BIG problem at right guard
*Adam Snyder just went down with an injury, not sure how serious
Joe Looney is VERY average
Rookie Marcus Martin just came back from a injury & has missed a lot of practice & ummm.... looks like a rookie
Jonathan Martin is complete trash! Dude gets put on his ass EVERY SINGLE DAY!
Anthony Davis is coming back from injury & should be ready week #1

*I think the front office really needs to work something out with Alex Boone
Our backup guards are just not going to cut it
And swing tackle Jonathan Martin needs to be cut

DEFENSE
When Justin Smith & RayMac come back, that should help our run defense some
Tank Carradine & Quinton Dial will make good rotational players, on passing downs
*The NT position is still a BIG question mark
Ian Williams is still hurt & might go on PUP list
Not sure if they prefer Dial at NT or at DE
Lawrence Okoye got banged up last game, still nursing his injury
OLB's still look good
*Aldon Smith has been a BEAST all camp long!
I feel comfortable with Lemonade & Dan Skuta rotating for Aldon, during his suspension
Even Aaron Lynch has been looking good also, but he seems like a hot head

*The problem will be who will take over for Bowman?
Even if we rotate Borland & Wilhoite, there is going to be a BIG drop off in talent
Borland has been looking good but relies too much on instincts, freelances too much
He sometimes leaves his assignment & gets burned by leaving the middle of the field open
Wilhoite is kinda the opposite. He's disciplined but nothing special, he's not a playmaker at all
Our safeties & corners have been decent for the most part
Sometimes kinda up & down, they are still young & are going through growing pains
Our pass rush will help the backend out a lot

As of right now the areas of concern I see are...
Right side of O-line + depth at O-line
Nose tackle position
Middle LB position
Clearly our offense will have to carry us for the first half of the season

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

defensively we're going to be fine but going to need a committee to help out where bowman is missing. pat will step up to lead and i think our secondary is going to surprise a LOT of people. we are going to see a huge difference because the people back there now are people who have the mixture we've been needing.

rogers and brown when they were at their best played good assignment coverage but were not ball hawks there were too many times where plays were right in front of them and they didn't even try to bat the ball or get the tip or pick.. that's gone. culliver, brock and by all accounts ward are ball hawks.. that's the difference between a qb going 20-30 and 15-30

the difference between a 4th down td pass in the nfc championship and a harmless incomplete pass.

dial and tank are going to murder people especially when we have the full compliment of power up front. i think dial is going to play himself into the lineup faster because there is a need there.

offensively just sign boone and let's get this line at full strength. everyone else has to come along. if martin isn't it then cut him no harm in doing so he has no guaranteed money.

kap is gelling with the new guys.. that's encouraging since he'll actually have option this season and not just kyle williams due to coaches decision..

they just gotta stay hungry and humble and we'll get to where we're supposed to go.

open all of it up.. offense and defense and go for it. no more conservative shit this year.. if we're up by 20 go up by 30 so the games won't be close at the end...

You know Pat is going to hold it down in the middle. Whether Fangio asked him to play Mike or Ted (or whatever name they call it now) he'll get the job done. My money is on Fangio having playing mostly Mike so he can run around and make plays.

Dial is a beast. If he can hold the point he'd be the perfect NT for us. Dude is tall enough to see over Centers and strong enough to throw them off to flow toward the ball. With Justin & Ray beside him he could flourish (the same way Dorsey did last season).

I'm most excited about dial, it was looking shaky but it's just our system and being healthy.

he was in the game making plays and dominating. now put him alongside justin and mac and you got a killer front.. im excited for the defense.. i think they've got a chip on their shoulders now and i think the guys playing are eager to prove they can hold it down.

You know they have a chip. Especially with all the doubters out there.

The funny thing is the main guys are still there. You still have to worry about Pat, Justin, Ray, Aldon & Ahmad. You have to account for them on every play.

Now add into that the young and hungry guys that are stepping in. SHiiiittt..... Sleep on the defense if you want to.

Last time we won a Super Bowl it was because we Brought in Stars to supplant an already great team... I'm sorta happy about Bethea, but for a couple bucks we could have kept Hitner... How we let Revis and Talib slip through our fingers is a slap in our faces... Remember Norton and Sanders helped is bring home that chip... Gabbert and chris cook is a joke... It's better to be overloaded than understocked... Honestly I see a 12-4 team that's a big injury away from being 9-7 who will struggle against the Bree's and the Mannings... Baalke via York is protecting his purse and HOPING this team can get it done... The money could have been spent and the chip sewed up... Now I'm hearing a Boone trade for draft picks :smh:, these dudes wanna play money ball while the Seahawks and Broncos , Pats is paying niggas...

Man you are one sky is falling type of fan.

Those players didn't slip through our fingers we tried to get them but couldn't afford them simple as that. We had to still sign kap we still have iupati and crab and aldon to pay. paying talib that much or revis that much would mean we ain't signing NONE of them.

we brought in bathea... we paid what we offered donte but he didn't want it. that's on him.

we brought in stevie johnson or did you forget that?

we also have talent that hadn't even got a chance to be on the field... we built our team from THE INSIDE. the seahwaks didn't bring anyone in.. they paid the people they drafted.. just like we do. they even let tate go cause he wanted some outrageous money.

so

if you can't get with a team as deep as ours that was built through the draft.. cause don't forget ian williams got activated he's ready to go.. to go with our front 7 PLUS adding in borland, ward, tank, dial,to go with how good dobbs and jde played as backups....

to go with the revamped offense adding hyde to help gore with kap having a healthy crab and boldin and stevie to go with vernon

and you in here predicting gloom?

come on dude.

i didn't even mention aaron lynch who's been KILLING IT
dontae johnson who has been KILLING and corey lemonier who is about to KILL it.

gloom and doom right?

stop following what these other teams are doing...

you bring up the last time we won a ring by getting those players

but you fail to mention the 4 other ones that were won because of people we drafted, groomed, went through growing pains with.. and then built a dynasty with.

what do you want a team that can get 1 ring then be in cap hell for the next decade like that team in 94 was

or like the one that won in 84 and dominated for the rest of the decade?

perfect team? hell no. but im being 100% real when i say the stuff i say...

if you would look at OUR TEAM and the roster we have and how we built it? how we're built to contend? how we're going to be stacked at every position and surprise people with how good our secondary is going to be to go with that line and linebacking core?

just look at the team then look at these other teams that's been buying players left and right and don't make it as far as we do or will?

You have to remember that was in the pre-salary cap years. We could spend & spend with no issue. Now we have to watch the wallet and more importantly think of the team overall.

We've already had big injuries and survived. It's nothing new. Luckily, we have a well rounded team of veterans and young guys that get the job done.

The Boone thing is just talk for now. Teams are interested in trading for him. Thats nice of them. You haven't heard of the 49ers being interested in trading Boone though. That's the important part that gets overlooked. Remember, these reporters are now gossip columnists. The moment they hear something they'll put it out there to fuel headlines.

Exactly

we've brought in talent every season.. but more importantly we've drafted damn good and all of these guys are contributing mightily.

Now let's talk Aldon, I don't think he's going to get suspended. They're handing out all these games for people why not announce his? He served 5 games last season.. any of that 6 to 8 game shit is complete overkill... that would be 13 games? for something he has cleared up and got help for and cleaned up his act? If roger is really about rehabilitation Aldon proved he's about that life.

Now Aaron lynch.. he is a fucking monster. I encourage all niner fans look him up and get acquainted with one of the many steals of the draft..

Ward is going to be a huge steal

Hyde is looking like a huge steal

Lynch is going to be another MONSTER

he's already put on 30 pounds of muscle, he's at 270 now, he's 6'5" and his arm reach is just an inch shorter than Aldon's

let's talk about that!

I don't think we'll lose Aldon for a significant amount of games either. Whatever the number is though, we'll be ok. Once again, we're experienced at this. Skuta & Lemonier filled in last season. I expect the same this season.

Now let's throw A-A-Ron Lynch into the mix. Dude put on weight has been soaking up the coaches knowledge and has been studying Aldon & Ahmad. Man listen.. I can't wait to see him out there.

Let's not forget how we bring the young guys along. Don't ask them to do to much, just what their strengths are. The big dogs will do the rest. As they grow, their roles grow.

Listen

Lynch Aldon Lemon Brooks pass rush?

Culliver, Brock, Reid Ward ball hawks?

don't you EVER get into a 3rd and long situation with us

not NEVER

LBO you make some good points, I neva had issue with the front 7... I'm just not sold on Cully and Brock as "ball hawks" , we could have added a Homerun hitter there, but hopefully Jimmie ward is...

Brock proved he had it when he took over and got all those picks and pass break ups man.

Culliver was on that same track before he got injured.. remember he was a rookie basically during that playoff run and he was one of the main reasons we shut people down in the 2nd half of that run.

Brown and rogers never ever went after the ball they played the man to a fault. brock and culliver play the man and when the ball comes reacts to make the play.. they don't stand there and let it happen.

case in point.

the td cam threw to steve smith in the playoffs was a perfect pass, but if brown made any attempt on the ball he would have batted it down easily.. he had perfect coverage.

the 4th down conversion in the nfcg on carlos rogers. he was in tight coverage and never once attempted to swat the ball down, if he had that's a turnover on downs...

now keep in mind that eric reid is also a ball hawk but a disciplined one.. how many int's could he have had last season.. and how many fumble recoveries he had just having the ability to be around the ball?

now add in ward who is a go getter.. and im not predicting a million interceptions, what i am saying is there will be a whole lot more passes batted down which is just as good imo. you bat those passes down 2nd and long's become 3rd and long and 3rd and long's become 4th down's... see what i mean?

and don't sleep on dontae johnson, that kid has got IT

now the chris cook's of the world, remember people weren't excited when we got rogers or whitner either remember? we revamped their entire career's....

and

as far as free agency goes, i like this approach of getting pieces that fit.. that's what we're good at. we're not good at throwing money at people in our recent history.. remember nate clements?

Brock proved he had it when he took over and got all those picks and pass break ups man.

Culliver was on that same track before he got injured..

People forget that Brock was around for 3 years prior to last season. Just far down on the depth chart. All that time he was practicing and learning. Last year he got his opportunity and made the most of it.

Culliver's been the next DB up since his rookie year. He was replacing Rogers on the outside in nickel formation. So as a rookie he was playing with the big dogs.

They both have experience. Both guys are fast and aren't afraid to fight for the ball. At the end of the day all the people that are sleeping on them are going to be saying they were wrong.
