49ers

watch him ball in k.c. with no pressure on him.

He will probably do okay in K.C.
He won't BALL because think about who is throwing the ball to him.
Mr checkdown, Alex Smith!
Jenkins needs to move to a different position, like the slot.
Problem is here with us we already have a bunch of guys who are better slot WR's.... Boldin, Austin Collie, Chad Hall & even Kyle Williams
No way was he going to beat the press coverage of Sherman, Browner, Finnegan, PP7 on the outside.

On top of that if we had cut him , I would bet a million dollars that Pete Carroll would have snatched him up, just to get inside info on our playbook.
We need a fast big body WR, similar to Ricardo Lockette.
Also Jenkins seemed like he was not giving 100% effort in games & practice.

The 49ers staff is sending a message showing no one is above the rest of the team regardless of draft status or contract. In the end, they will do what is best for the team. If you are soft and have no drive, you do NOT have a place on this team.

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

he just didn't pan out. we got baldwin i think we just got a steal lol. all he needs to do is work on his concentration but he's 6'4" and k.c. used him to run deep routes..

we have too many wr's its ridiculous now lol.

especially when crab and manningham comes back.

plus patton is cleared to play now.. and williams will be playing soon he's back in full pads.. to go along with baldwin... and davis?

our 1st team offense has moved with ease the first 2 preseason games.. .came out got into the red zone, didn't finish. so im not worried about the offense.

we also have the potential to be supremely elite at cb if they do it the right way. have nnamdi starting with brown. and rogers in the slot until eric wright is healthy.. to go with reid in the backfield? to go with all that depth at linebacker and defensive line? ooooooooo fucking weeeeeeee

For the 3rd preseason game against the Vikings...
*Vance McDonald will be back
*Kyle Williams will be back
*Quinton Patton will be back
*Don't forget, Kendall Hunter should be back also

We already know what we have with our defense.
Ideally, the 1st string defense probably just needs to play just 1 qtr, not the whole half.
I don't want to see any starters on defense get hurt.

For this next game, we really need to evaluate...
*Our special teams coverage & returns
*Our backup QB (specifically BJ Daniels)
*Our backup Oline
*Our WR's

The Vikings special teams unit is pretty good w/ Patterson.
It will be another test for us.
Hopefully Kaep plays the whole half.
I want to see our starting offense play together since they all should be healthy next game.

Hopefully BJ Daniels plays the entire 2nd half of the game.
In order to properly evaluate our WR's, we need a strong armed & accurate QB throwing the ball, both go hand in hand.
We have seen enough of Tolzein & McCoy.

Our backup Olinemen need to step up also (specifically our 2012 pick Joe Looney (#78)).
He looks completely lost out there. Gives up sacks & way too much pressure.
Also backup tackle Patrick Omameh (#66) is complete trash. He needs to go asap. Dude got beat damn near every play the last two games.

Lets see what happens next game. I got my popcorn ready!
:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

curt stop worrying about the o line we have our starting 5 at the line. have a back up center and another guy who can play both inside positions we just need 1 more linemen to step up we aren't keeping 10 offensive linemen... 9 max but we have a solid 8.

next up baldwin..

6'4" 4.4 40. 42 inch vertical..

he just didn't have any coaching.. he's actually caught passes in nfl games before... crazy as it sounds i think we just got over on the chiefs.. i think we just fucked around and made the offense a HUGE problem for the rest of the nfl.. with him... and boldin... patton...williams? then crab? and davis too?

SHIT

3rd round pick vs 1st pick overall

corey is gonna be a problem

I love ya optimism foreal mah nigga... I be worried as shit and then you make me believe we're all good:yes:

but Yo did yall peep the Skullduggery we used to get Eric Wright anyway without having to pick up his original contract, brilliant!

we are all good. we have so much depth... the sky is never falling. the only problem i have is we don't use our depth to destroy teams offensively and we aren't getting it done in the red zone if they tighten that up we will be unstoppable.

the rug got pulled from under a.j. i kind of saw the writing after i said he'd be fine when the national media started reporting on him (out of nowhere just trying to pick a fight) it's all good though he'll be fine in k.c. i really think baldwin will have no choice but to be good...with our coaching staff and qb...he's never had that his entire career... we might shock a whole lot of people with our passing attack.

FINALLY kendall hunter is back so we don't have to see as much hampton...he's ok but he has no vision...tired of watching him for 3 quarters. james will be getting those carries...since he's 3rd on the depth chart.

defensively i hope they do the right thing and have nnamdi and brown start.. and just kill the league this year. and tank is almost ready to get back? that d-line depth is going to be unreal

oh yea and with the eric wright thing we paid him $1 more over the veteran's minimum because if you pay someone the vet's min..you can't negotiate a new contract during the season...

so if he comes in and he's excellent we can lock him up before he even gets to free agency

this is what i say on here all the time, just posting this to show you it isn't just me thinking this stuff up being a homer.

At 30 years old, Frank Gore has continued breaking off long runs in the preseason, and the return of Kendall Hunter will give the 49ers added insurance if LaMichael James doesn't pan out.

The future looks promising with Marcus Lattimore. Heck, in his current condition I'd start him over Anthony Dixon.

The only real weakness on the 49ers' state-of-the-art offense is their inability to start fast. They fell behind in all three of their playoff games last year and it finally cost them on the biggest stage. But that's what happens when you have four or five different ways to move the ball. It takes time to find a rhythm—kind of like having Steve Young and Joe Montana on the same team.

So we Waive Ricardo Lockette & bring in Seneca Wallace???? Insurance of someone who can run the most of our offense if God Forbid, Colin goes down??? This move perplexes me considering how thin we are at WR & how ample we are at QB.. :dunno:

we aren't thin at wr. Ricadro lockette had every opportunity to establish himself... every one with his physical tools and all the injuries he could have been the clear #2 if he was ready... shit look at how marlon moore has been starting..so it isn't favortism.

keep in my we have baldwin, kyle williams, crab, patton... we aren't thin at all.

now what this does mean with wallace is, if he does anything remotely good then tolzein is out the door, we spent a pick on mccoy so we're not parting with him for nothing. tolzein is as good as gone imo... he reminds me of a poor man's tim rattay.

we need b.j. i see him as excellent and he'll help scout russell wilson as well cause he is russell wilson basically

You don't Even mention that dude Rattay in this thread... We don't need those 2-14 vibes fucking up our synergy

they can't he's gone. like tolzein will be.

we're going to surprise a lot of people.. people think seattle is gonna beat us twice...think we're gonna sneak into the playoffs. we're going to demolish some people they won't even see it coming..

just watch

Yea our depth chart going into week 1 will probably be...
1. Anquan Boldin
2. Kyle Williams
3. Marlon Moore
4. Quinton Patton
5. Jon Baldwin
6. Austin Collie/Chad Hall

1. Colin Kaepernick
2. Colt McCoy/Seneca Wallace
3. BJ Daniels

*Collie has not been getting many snaps in the preseason games. He comes in, in the 4th qtr with Lockette. Collie making the roster is not a given, especially with his concussion history.

*Wallace was brought in to light a fire under Tolzein/McCoy's ass. Whoever steps up gets the backup QB job.

*I'm disappointed in Lockette. All that work he did with Kaep in the offseason. Unfortunately I only heard good things about him during our non-padded practices.

*Baldwin ran a 4.5 at the combine but he does not play to his speed. I've already went back & watched a couple old Chiefs games. He is a long strider that has to build up his speed, so he plays slow. I only expect around 250 yards out of Baldwin this year. I see him being used more in the redzone for jump balls, TD's. He has the height & athleticism to jump over defenders easily. Baldwin, Boldin & Vance McDonald would make good tall redzone targets, something we did not have last year (minus Randy Moss).

*** This 3rd preseason game is going to be VERY interesting!***

what jaws said ruffled some feathers cause everyone is so busy worshiping luck and rg3 and wilson.

kap is as big as luck

has a stronger arm than all of them

his stride is as good as rg3's

his mental capacity for the game is as good as luck's

his heart is as big as wilson's

and his clutch factor rivals ALL of theirs.

if not for horrible play calling he'd have a super bowl ring.

and he's hungry.

Quotes from reports from the game

The big takeaway was that the 49ers did not use much if any read option on the series. Kap showed pocket presence, he did great work scrambling, and he threw well on the run. Those six completions showed us why this team is so much more than read option.

as I have said and continue to say..

Winners and loser last night

Winners
Quinton Patton - DAMN
Jewel Hampton - Still likely practice squad bound, but looked real sharp in his second preseason game
B.J. Daniels - Still looking sharp. He might have locked up a roster spot tonight.
Lavelle Hawkins - Big kickoff return for a touchdown, and a 22-yard catch. He did not get any additional returns, but that could hold off the Turk this Tuesday.

Losers
Lavelle Hawkins - Three unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Wow. Maybe the Turk will in fact make his appearance.
Cam Johnson - The 49ers linebacker suffered a shoulder injury. There is no word on his status.
Perrish Cox - He's not losing his roster spot, but he had a down night after two strong performances the first two weeks

WR Quinton Patton

Postgame Quotes - August 25, 2013

San Francisco 49ers vs. Minnesota Vikings

First impressions after, you've been out for a while, you're able to get out on the field for the first time. How'd that feel to get that touchdown?

"It felt great to get back out there with everybody. I kind of felt like I was being left out, not playing and everything for the first two preseason games, but it felt good being back out there with my teammates."

Working with the first team, we're you expecting that?

"It didn't matter if I was with the first team, the second team, the third team. I just wanted to get out there playing with everybody."

You showed some strides at least and how far you've come despite being injured.

"Just a little bit, but it's still the preseason. I still have a long way to go."

patton
