$400 - You can get a steaming PC for that much and run all the latest games on it. The right website have the parts needed to play next gen games for $300 to $400. Besides PC games last longer with mods, online matching and local LAN tournies.

The PS3's taken its fair share of smacks to the mouth over the past year. Some were well-deserved, others less deserved, but this? This is below the belt. GamePro have dug up some old NPD figures, taken a look at some new NPD figures and drawn up a pretty little graph which shows the PS3 is selling slower than the GameCube. Ouch. Low blow. But is that really fair? The Cube's launch wasn't too bad, as you can see - it was the next 3-4 years that killed it. And it's a bit hard to chart the next 3-4 years of PS3 sales when, you know, they haven't happened yet. Still, it is a pretty graph, and I'm a sucker for pretty graphs, so up it goes.

Especially with UT3 being pushed back to 2008.

Even with free online the PSN community sucks right now, the only games you can regularly find people on are Resistance and Warhawk, and nobody talks. You will be playing a capture the flag match in Warhak with 15 other people on your team all just running around doing dumb shit and no one talking to each other.

I still don't wnt to drop any money on a new gaming system, especially one without any games that I want.

But a 400 dollar blueray player is a nice thought but still not cheap enough. If it hits 299 or 250 then probably.

if u want a ps3 for that price your not going to get one until 2010 or maybe when ps4 dropp u would buy it just like what they did with the ps2 . cause the system just came out lastt year.

newegg is showing a 500gb 7200 rpm sata drive for $120

just take out the old drive and pop in the new drive

as for which is the best size, brand etc.. i couldn't tell you, if i owned a ps3 i would research it more, i'm just glad i can upgrade the drive when i get it, i'll worry about the which kind, size brand etc later

i had a 300gb in my ps2, used HDLoader and would copy the games to the hard drive and play from the hard drive

This is what Sony gets for being so arrogant. All they really did with that high ass price was to allow the 360 to get sold for more.
I'll consider one when they hit $300 just like I said before they came out. Really, they are only worth about $200 to me and part of that is for the blu ray player. A system with no good games is useless. Fuck Blu Ray, too. Sony just fucked up, that's all there is to it. Hell, I'm still playing PS2 games.
