2014 Cologne Thread

Which one Is that, I can't tell pic Is to dark, I got Aventus, Virgin Island water and I have Millesime Imperial coming In the mail any day no. Imperial Is a blind purchase please don't tell me It smells like Joop. I hated Joop:smh: I like lite scents not In your face bold scents. Joop projects to crazy for me.

my fault bad pic...

I don't think Black Orchid Is unisex, It's listed under women's Fragrance on the official Tom Ford website. Black Violet Is listed for men under private Blends.

I grabbed a bottle per the recommendation of the Tom Ford rep at Saks. It's a strong scent that reacts differently with a man's body chemistry than it does with a female. Supposedly a lot of the professional athletes opt for this fragrance and unisex fragrances allowing their body chemistry to alter it for a unique scent. I wore it to brunch with a group of friends and the hostess wanted to know which one of us smelled so good. Tobacco Vanille is another favorite of mine.

Man, I got Aventus but it doesn't work for me like it does with others. I guess my body chemistry negates something in it. I was tempted to buy another bottle thinking I got screwed in the whole batch issue that people are reporting. I sampled Millesime Imperial and it was nice. I will purchase that one and Virgin Island Water next.

Virgin Island Water will definitely be copped for the Spring/Summer Seasons. Another frag that I enjoy and have received plenty of compliments on is:

Clinique-Happy-Clinique-For-Men-EDT-100ML.jpg

Clinique is a Citrusy simple scent that is great for work. Also another brand that has garnered compliments is:

Another great scent plenty of compliments on this one. Winter only it opens a bit heavy, but dries down really nice.

Zegna is nice.

I went on and pulled the trigger on the TFTV…i hear its a fall and winter smell and we ain’t got many more months of cold…the Midnight in Paris was a small purchase for 60 bucks

Remember presentation is everything….

man.. I don't understand what's the big deal on cologne.. I rock cologne but its not that serious. I get compliments on how I smell regardless of what I wear.. even when Im not wearing any. I'm reading this post and notice that everybody is rocking something different but swears it's all that and that's the reason why they are getting that 2nd look. I learned that proper hygiene will beat great cologne any day. Proper hygiene and cologne will work also.

Much like anything we wear or how we dress, I think fragrances are just a way of further expressing your personality. Like when you choose what watch to wear, or what shoes to wear. It is a compliment to your style. Of course, if you smell good it's always plus, but the confidence you display ultimately gets the looks and the compliments. It's just some of these scents are literally irresistible to women. Just spreading the info.

Is that Midnight In Paris the EdT or EdP? What does it smell like? The bottle is the shit though...

Posted in the older thread but this one is a killer for winter if you have it:

escada+magnetism+men.jpg

Escada Magnetism.

But another frag that is comparable is:

Lacoste Challenge. Feels like a lighter albeit, more versatile version of this frag. Both enjoyable and have gotten plenty of compliments from both. Easier to find the Lacoste now though.

If you like A*Men but don't like the opening tar note - Cuba Prestige (less than $10 at Ross) is IMO well worth the investment.

Thanks for your recommendation I brought this and its slowly growing on me.

cuba_royal_1_1_3.jpg

I also brough this for $7.99 in the smaller size. Its an excellent clone of 1 million cologne. Eo your pocket a favor and cop this over it unless you want to pay an premium price for a name and a fancy bottle.

I just got this for Christmas and I have gotten more compliments for it than any other cologne I have ever worn!

My boy lives and works in Abu Dhabi and he swears that this stuff is the truth. He has been trying to get me to buy Amouage for a couple of years, but its a little out of my price range for cologne.

Presentation is a beast, looks like an expensive champagne

What stores sell it so I can go sample?

I just picked up a few samples from ebay, Amouage Isn't cheap. was able to cop Amouage reflection, Jubilation and Lyric you can get 5ml- 10ml from anywhere between 20-30.00

Apparently, all they do is clone popular scents. Because this:

is known to be VERY similar to Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male

all its missing is the strong lavender, cuba is a le male scent for everyday wear, le male on the other hand works well with me only for club nights or nights where i know im gettin pussy, i find it too strong to wear on a regular basis

Min New York also sells Amouage and they sell samples too for 5$ so I think I'll go that route to check this colonge out. Don't feel like driving to New York so I'll just order it. From what I'm reading about it many are saying it's one of the best frangrances in the world.

not a fan of the amouage scents I smelled, I didn't like the By Killians either. I've tried plenty of colognes, I took that sample, split, decant to heart when I 1st got back into scents  DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT BLIND BUY bottles.

I used to love that shit back in the day but I brought an bottle of Cuba Gold a year ago, the smell is overpowering and nauseating. Even with 4 sprays it'll stay on you for 8 hours. It has an huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge projection, even in a huge hotel lobby I can smell this on some dudes from way across the room.

Agreed. You have to sample the scents first. You're not gonna like everything just because it gets good reviews. Gotta try it out first.

That's truth. Com right there. Especially when a 1oz bottle is 100.00+ you don't wanna not like that shit when it comes to your door. About to order some Clive Christian samples anyone try out any scents by him?

Whats the diference between oils and alcohol spray besides the obvious price.

by the way I use to rock the oils..Very Sexy, Angel,Virgin Island Water and a few others

but whats the difference or which would you prefer..oils or spray?

yeah I learned the hard way... my first blind buy was bond no.9 brooklyn because everyone said it was a can't miss. But I couldn't fuck with it, luckily so many people liked it I was able to flip it for Tuscan Leather

Yeah I think curiosity Is getting the better of me on this 1oz of Clive Christain No1 Is 865.00 from Saks. 3ml-4ml Is anywhere from 50-70.00 Basenotes gave It lack luster reviews, but I've ordered samples that got rave reviews and when It came, It smelled like baby shit mixed with something sweet :smh: I'll take a gamble on this and let you know how It turns out.

Yea TV is a good scent but it's a limited to places I would want to wear it. I like Tuscan leather better. Try it out next time you're thinking about picking something up. It's a cold weather scent as well
