2014 Cologne Thread

These are what I'm using at the moment... Both YSLs, Chrome, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, and Angel Men Pure Havane.

My ex loves the way chrome smells on me and I've gotten numerous random compliments from strangers and friends wanting to know what I was wearing. It has been my staple for a while.

I had the YSL La Nuit for a while, always got compliments on that. Checked out the old cologne thread and saw what was said about the L'Homme. I don't care for the L'Homme version much at all, it has never raised any eyebrows and it's scent is nothing to rave about IMO.

I like the scent of the Pure Havane a lot. It has a soft, vanilla scent. I've had a girl walk around trying to track down where it was coming from and complimented me when she found out. I would say it lasts pretty long. But even though you don't really smell it after a few hours, the ladies do.

I just got the Allure, haven't worn it much so i'm not sure about what reaction I'll get from it, but it does have a nice scent. I could see it being used when your going out to party or going to work. Just a nice clean scent.


I'm still waiting to try Molecule for myself, I had Issey Miyake and i think I'm going to buy another bottle. I liked the spicy scent of that one. Jean Paul Gaultier was another good one I used, and Versace The Dreamer.

I have both Bleecker Street and Coney Island. Coney Island is a strictly summer scent. To me, it literally smells like a day at the beach. Bleecker is also a warm weather scent but it's more aromatic and projects in the heat. I'd recommend both...

That Bleecker is crack. It will be my next bond

Is INSANE. When I get on the train, I personally sit in the corner away from everybody, and watch as chicks move awkwardly around the car and eventually come chill next to me. After a few stops, I have all the girls sitting around me and I get asked all the time what I am wearing. Layer that Molecule 01/02 with anything and its a monster. Also if you are interested in trying Molecule 01/02 but don't want to pay alot there is a dude Named Tribute8 that makes it for a quarter of the price. I am actually using his molecule02 since I ran out of my original. Works just the same!

I got that molecule bullshit, put on a dab, and damn near vomited. Shit makes me sick man.

I've tried it and the other by killians but I didn't like any of them. Order a sample for yourself. I'm not a fan of Bond's either so everybody has there own taste. sample sample sample

Anyways we are talking about fragrances and bring up Versace Eros the boss's wife smells it and says this smells just like Thallium. "You know thats all they do right?, get one smell put it in another bottle and change the name" (With heavy middle east accent) They buy Thallium for like $4 a bottle. So Versace will come up with something close and now sell same ish for $90 and cats will eat it up.

I am happy you brought this up because I heard this rumor a number of years ago and didnt know if it was true.

One of my former co-workers swears that you can not copyright a scent, you can only copyright the name of the scent. Meaning, that a company comes up with a new cologne, it is legal for someone to take that cologne, figure out what is is made from, copy it and sell the exact same scent for much cheaper.

Is that true?

I've tried it. It's pretty nice. I wear Kilian's colognes and they are my favorite. You could just buy the DISCOVERY set and get like 10 of them and see which one you like. It cost around $200.

If you want to try Bond No. 9, the best time is when they do their refill event. Buy any two and get a 3rd (tester) free. The good thing is it doesn't matter what size you buy, the tester will be a 3.4 (100 ml). I got Bleecker St., Hamptons, and New Haarlem for $320.

They may have raised their prices though...

Also another best kept secret! There are two Very Sexy for him, and Very Sexy for Him Squared or 2. I think the first one smells better. The second one has a weird opening, but dries down really nice. The first one is a great work scent, and afterwork for drinks. Its also pretty affordable, I believe it was 40 bucks when I bought it. Let me know what you think.

Yes this is true. Think about it, it's impossible to patent a scent so that's why there are a ton of similar sounding named stuff that claims to smell the same but unless you have the EXACT mix, the scent won't quite be the same.

Bingo. That's how I picked up New Harlem and a bottle of Chinatown for the wife. Chez Bond is a nice fragrance as well.

Yes, this is a nice scent. For the fellas in cold climates try the Tuscan Leather. You won't need much but man when the cold air hits it you it gives off a nice scent that's fresh and manly. Black Orchid will get you noticed immediately and since it's not a part of Ford's Private Blend, it's cheaper.

I have Givenchy Pi, Nutica Voyage, Burberry Brit, Burberry Touch, Jean Paul Gautiher, CK One, Versace Eros, Dior Homme Sport, L'Homme by YSL and The Real Essence by American Eagle. Which one of these last long? I used the Eros yesterday for my morning and class and i swear i'm not making this up, this older chick (probably in her early 30s) came up to me like "you smell really good, whats that" lol.

I don't think Black Orchid Is unisex, It's listed under women's Fragrance on the official Tom Ford website. Black Violet Is listed for men under private Blends.

Are y'all talking Molecule 01 or 02? I only use 01, and what you don't get about it is that it's supposed to have an "effect" on other people, WHICH IT DOES! In many cases, you won't even smell it, but women will come sniffing on you like its a pheromone! Y'all just ain't doing it right!

Which one Is that, I can't tell pic Is to dark, I got Aventus, Virgin Island water and I have Millesime Imperial coming In the mail any day no. Imperial Is a blind purchase please don't tell me It smells like Joop. I hated Joop I like lite scents not In your face bold scents. Joop projects to crazy for me.
