Same here.

Hopefully something like Rousey-Tate II from late-December 2013 (went to the 3rd round). I hope we at least get a few rounds. Never been a fan of quick stoppages as they don't tell us much at all about the winner OR loser. Especially with all the hype and build-up ... I don't care to see these types of results ...

- Korean Zombie stopping Hominick in 7 seconds
- Hendricks stopping Fitch in 12 seconds
- Hendricks stopping Kampmann in 46 seconds
- Rousey stopping McMann in 2 - 3 minutes
- Rousey stopping Davis in 16 seconds
- Etc.

Judo + armbar + boxing?...:smh:

Re: ► OFFICIAL UFC 184 - Saturday, February 28th, 2015 - Rousey / Zingano - Los Angel

zingano might just submit her.

Re: ► OFFICIAL UFC 184 - Saturday, February 28th, 2015 - Rousey / Zingano - Los Angel

Going with the champ for the main event.

Zingano is a slow starter, with Rousey she comes out like a bat out of hell. Amanda Nunez had Zingano in big trouble and could have gotten the finish if she had the skills. If Rousey gets on top that early into the fight the submission is gonna come rather quick. I don't care what type of a BJJ skills she has, the Judo style armbar seems much faster and more violent I feel due to judo matches being so short. Other than the submissions Rousey boxing, and movement get better every time she steps in the cage, the way she parry'ed and countered in her her last fight threw Alexis Davis off and Alexis never had time to recovered. Seconds later she was on her back from a throw and KO'ed shortly after.

Yo Zingano has a good striking game....I think Ronda will win....but if Zingano can keep this standing....

might be in for a surprise....

Re: ► OFFICIAL UFC 184 - Saturday, February 28th, 2015 - Rousey / Zingano - Los Angel

Should be interesting to see how the co-main plays out with Holm and Pennington.

If/when Rousey wins ... how do they match up either of them, or Cyborg? Does Holm get the winner of Rousey/Cyborg? Or do we have to wait until late-2015 or sometime-2016 for the big money fight of Armbar & MessTheseBroadsUp?

Re: ► OFFICIAL UFC 184 - Saturday, February 28th, 2015 - Rousey / Zingano - Los Angel

As for the fight, I think Cat definitely has all the tools to beat Rousey, but Rousey has the mental edge. I honestly believe Rousey has a Mike Tyson-like aura around her for most of her opponents, who walk into the fight more intimidated than they let on. Ronda on the other hand may get nervous, but she uses it for fuel. Right now Cat and Cyborg are the most dangerous threats, because they both have great striking and a mean ground game, especially Cyborg. Cat has to use her size, stay out of the tie ups, stick the jab to set up take downs and pound her out (though, I doubt the ref would call a TKO from GnP too quickly against such a popular champ). Ronda has to start fast, get the TD and go for her bread and butter (arm bar). No shame in that. If they keep it standing, Cat. If they go to the floor, Rousey. If it's a short fight, Rousey. The longer the fight goes, Cat. Cat has been in trouble, but she's more battle tested than Rousey. And, lest we forget, were it not for Rousey biting Liz to break this vicious neck crack/choke, she might not still be undefeated. If Cat gets her in this position, it's a wrap...

Yeah ... good breakdown. I'm hoping we at least get 2, or 3+ rounds. My main concern behind Rousey is QUICK out the gate, whereas Zingano has durability and it takes her awhile to get started, but she's a tough out. A handful of good comebacks, etc. Problem is ... Rousey is one of the top dawgs in the sport and isn't gonna let it become a knock-down, drag-out main event.

All that said ... I hope Zingano wins to mess up the division entirely, and also it would make for a wild rematch in the summer or fall, 'cuz you know Ronda would want to run that shit back immediately. She ain't delaying that.

Also ... we ALL know full well that Dana and company are DELAYING the eventual Rousey/Cyborg match-up for as long as possible. They don't want to see their golden girl go down like Gina Carano did years ago ... one of their main cash cows with MAINSTREAM crossover appeal. They don't want her getting fucked up badly ... they know they can sell it (and the eventual rematch or trilogy), but they don't want to see her get hammered in the process, plus they don't know how many years they have with Rousey in the sport. She's mentioned in interviews she's probably got a few years remaining before she gets out on her OWN terms, etc.

Makes me wonder how long do Roids stay in a woman's body? Or she still taking them, that's why she can't make 135 lbs??

She's been testing clean ever since whe got popped years ago. She's just a big big with little body fat to get down that low without health risks. Ronda fought at a much higher weight, but she had a lot mor softness to lose. As svelte as she is now, she couldn't make 125 without health risks. That's what it's like for Cyborg trying to make 135, when she already has to cut to make 145.

Re: ► OFFICIAL UFC 184 - Saturday, February 28th, 2015 - Rousey / Zingano - Los Angel

Yeah, Hfunk, I hope Rousy loses, too. The UFC could use some drama that's actually fight-related. All the injuries, drug use, arrests, roids, and trash-talking has turned UFC into WWE. It would be good to have some great fight get the spotlight for a change.

No doubt, fam'. It would be great for the 135lb division & WMMA on the whole, given all the bs in recent months within the organization. Zingano seems like a good chick too. Has support from the fans ... and has had a rough few years with the 2 comeback victories, the major injury, missing out on coaching opposite Rousey on TUF (and getting on that PPV in late-Dec' 2013 as co-main under Silva-Weidman II), and of course the loss of her husband via suicide. I wish her the best and hope to see her perform at the highest level for the years ahead. Or if she puts up a good showing in a LOSS ... that she wins a few more and gets back to Rousey for a rematch (prior to Rousey leaving the sport in the years ahead). Just no 16-second loss a la Alexis Davis. Anything but that!

Sorry bro, I don't buy this, Mike Dolce said he can get her down to 135 lbs with no problem...

She's been complaining that she doesn't have a lot of money, and that she would kick Ronda's ass at a catchweight of 140 lbs, so she should do a 3 fight deal with the UFC at 135 lbs and call Dolce... at this point I think she's selling wolf tickets!!

Mike Dolce's not a doctor and he's promoting his services. She can make the weight, but "no problem?" Not likely. The one selling wolf tickets is Ronda Rousey who said she could beat Cain Velasquez, but she's scared to meet Cyborg in a catch weight bout at 140.

That's the one thing about MMA, though: the quick KO. Those thin gloves will fuck up your evening in a heart beat. You wait all evening for the main event and just as you have your food, drinks ready to get into the fight... POW! :smh: I like KOs as much as anyone else, but damn, at least give me a good contest before it's over. I honestly think Cat's nerves will be a deciding factor in this. She just has to make it out of the first round with a good showing. She's a beast, but she has to believe that. If a confident Cat shows up, Ronda's got a long night ahead. Just going on the mutual opponent the both had, Cat destroyed Tate, compared to Ronda's finishes.

Re: ► OFFICIAL UFC 184 - Saturday, February 28th, 2015 - Rousey / Zingano - Los Angel

In an MMA fight, Cyborg would dust that big bitch off, though.

Agreed - good kickboxing record, but a losing one in her time in MMA.

Most definitely. You said it with "I like KOs as much as anyone else, but damn, at least give me a good contest before it's over."

MMA math/science is a muthafucka. The quick wins and losses just don't tell us nearly enough about either opponent moving forward. All the hype, build-up, anticipation ... and the 4oz gloves fuck shit up - As a Canadian I'm still pissed off at seeing Hominick go the full 25 with Aldo, and get stopped in 7 seconds by TKZ.

Man, this chick has been through childbirth, serious surgery, her husband killing himself...real shit...she's not going to be any more nervous than regular fight jitters every fighter has..even Rhonda no matter if she admits it or not..I think Cat is stronger than Rhonda and that is what could win it for her. Rhonda's standup is shit and I don't care what she has done..those chicks folded against her..except Tate..Anything can happen, but if I had to call it I would say the only thing Cat has to worry about is that arm-bar and Judo throws. Rhonda always has that Ace in her back pocket if everything else is not working and it's the ultimate Ace. She has been getting arm-barred and arm-barring since a child. It's been shown that even if Rhonda beats her ass with strikes, Cat can come back. Her best chance is to be well trained in avoiding that clinch and showing Rhonda no respect otherwise. Go in and put the beats on her, her confidence will wither the same way Gina Carano's did when she started to bleed..even though Rhonda is a more seasoned athlete than Gina..she has yet to take any sort of real punishment. People also don't realize the size advantage that Rhonda has on these chicks..that's not the case with Cat. I'm one of the few that want the division to survive so a Rhonda loss at this point might not be the best thing, but if anybody deserves that win it's Cat with all the bum luck she's had.

Agreed. It would be something to see her take the strap. It would be another TJ Dillashaw/Renan Barao moment as far as upsets go.
