Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

Couldn't join y'all for play by play the other night but this happened before to Pele Landi Jons a few years back and as soon as Anderson broke his leg I remembered Pele, Pele style is what Chute box was known for back in the days (crazy kicks) and Anderson came up underneath him.

One thing for sure is cats gonna be dropping from 205 to 185.....

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

I haven't watched a lot of UFC but if the armbar is so effective for rousey why don't the males use this move or is it just a move that can be used against weak females.

Males do use it...but males can t one trick pony and win.....

Rousey is dominating a field that is in its infancy......

Plus he's part right them females rousey fighting don't look like they're half as strong as she is. Rousey is a thick, stout little female. She got them thick legs and cankles working.

She look like she walk around at about 150 or so, cut to make weight, then rehydrate back up to her normal weight. Because Tate caught her a couple of times and Rousey ate them punches like Sunday dinner.

She won't do that shit to cyborg..... But UFC is gonna protect her just like they protected Ortiz in the beginning stages of his career.

when Rousey was in the Olympics years back she was fighting at 160lbs......

so they said that she probably walked around at 180......man real talk Dana is doing the female division wrong...there should be atleast 2 female fights per PPV.....or he needs to have some more on fox...

Technique plus strength is some shit. Rousey has the technique down and has a strength advantage. These days, a good number of males will be the near the same strength(not to be confused with punching power...just stopping a grappler from overwhelming you) and have the good technique. If not, they play on speed and endurance. Rousey can brute force her way into a submission or use superior technique.

Damn! Rousy has NEVER faced a striker this skilled. This bitch is undefeated in MMA and a 33-2-3 pro boxer. The ground game would clearly be advantage Rousy's, but this bitch could keep it on the feet with her diverse striking. That body kick KO was sick!

There's a few questions ya wanna ask yourself:

A. WHO are those candied yams she's fighting?

Answer: NOBODIES

B. Were there any one punch KOs in that highlight reel?

Answer: not one

C. Did any of them even attempt to get her to the ground?

Answer: not a one.

If she didn't even stun those nobodies with one punch, what makes you think she will have any effect on Ronda as she comes in, grabs her and throws her over her hip?

The same thing has been said about Rousy. WHO has she fought that anyone really thought had an ice cube's chance in Hell of winning against her? :dunno:

One punch KO??? lol This isn't a video game, dude. 5/6 of her wins in MMA came via KO. She knocks her opponents out. It doesn't matter how many punches or kicks it took, when the fight was over, they were knocked out. I don't recall Rousy ever knocking an opponent down, much less out... but if it's a one hitter quitter you want...

C. Did any of them even attempt to get her to the ground?

How can you know if any of them tried to take her down from a highlight clip? Wouldn't you need to watch the actual fights to know that? It's not as though take down defense is exactly the highlights of a fight. The purpose of a highlight real is to cherry pick exciting portions of the fight and showcase the fighter. Of course, you have you have to watch a full fight to get a more well rounded representation of the fighter's overall game.

How do you know she didn't stun anyone with one punch? And since when does cumulative damage not count? The fact is she knocks bitches out and Rousy has a suspect chin.

Like fam' was saying ... she's just so dominant with that 1 technique, and has that strong judo base (Olympic level) so she's great with angles, base & core strength, hip tosses & leverage (points). When she works for that arm ... she's going to get it. It'll be interesting to see how long she hangs around. Both her and Jon Jones have hinted that they don't plan on dragging out their careers ... and could possibly depart prior to the age of 30 respectively.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

As for Rousey ... I do like the quick turnaround here. As she noted ... she talked with the UFC brass prior to this fight, hence her getting right back in there against Sara McMann in the next few months (after the long layoff of February - December 2013 between the Carmouche and Tate match-ups). She was away doing promotional stuff, as well as the film roles for The Expendables 3, and Fast & Furious 7, etc. Especially if she's only gonna be around for a handful more years (or less) ... might as well have quicker turnarounds between fights instead of this year's 10-month gap.

Also ... it'll be interesting to see what type of impact and popularity the strawweights have next year when they arrive. Like I was saying in this thread or another MMA one ... there's some tough chicks that'll be on that season of TUF ... so watch for the likes of people like Hyatt, Esparza, Torres, Herrig, VanZant, Calderwood, Namajunas and others. They've proven they can bring it (Invicta, etc.).

* In a perfect world though we'd see people like ZINGANO, CYBORG, HOLM & others immediately lined up for Rousey ... to truly test her. I was glad to see this recent fight with Tate make it into the 3rd round (after the past couple of years of 1st round finishes in Tuff-N-Uff, Strikeforce, and the UFC).

really? we're already doing the "who has Ronda fought?" question?:lol::lol:

10 of the best fighters MMA has to offer, and she has a beaten all except one within 1 round

I mention one punch KO because A) thats what happens in Mens MMA, and since they all know it's possible, they have to be aware of it. if this girl aint doing that, then she will get flipped over a hip and dealt with after one or two punches thrown. No, you don't recall ROusey knocking anyone down, you recall her TAKING them down. If this girl can't avoid that, she's toast.

btw, that girl she's up against in that vid- I've seen her. She's trash. She seems to be in a lot of peoples highlight reels LMAO

BUT, at least she's capable of that- she will need something like THAT to beat Ronda

If you're using her highlight clip as evidence that she can beat ROusey, then that highlight reel damn well better show her sprawling, or doing some ground work. If not, then we can safely assume she has no ground game, which means she will be a fish out of water once she's on the ground with ROusey.

How do you know she didn't stun anyone with one punch? And since when does cumulative damage not count? The fact is she knocks bitches out and Rousy has a suspect chin.

Cumalitive punches don't work when you only get to throw one punch and you're on your ass right after. Thats all I'm saying.

Sara Mcmann seems to be an interest challenge for ROusey, because you will need someone who will know wrestling techniques to keep someone off of them, or at least make them know that they may have trouble on the ground as well, so that they will HAVE to stand and strike.

I'm sorry, I think you may be getting just a little anxious to see Ronda beat, and I think you're hitching your carriage to the wrong horse bro.

BUT...... if they can set it up, we shall see. Not much else to be said, I wish your girl luck- is she even in the UFC yet?

this is a great breakdown of the evolution of Ronda's game.

True, fam'. Had a good laugh with the crew on Saturday ... a handful of them were not familiar with Tate. Complained they weren't attracted to her because of her NOSE ... saw her and then remembered her booty (photos) and were like - "Ah yeah, she's kinda nice with it ..."

beautiful throw

lets see it in slow mo. Notice she lifts that leg off the ground right before the hit the ground so she can land on Tate and smash into her more.

Exile why do you like Rousey so much?

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

cuz she's good. What kinda question is that?

Why do you like the fighters you like?

too each his own....

I just wasn t sure until I saw the continued post...but real talk I still think her days are numbered....

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

Yeah man - that high-level judo is something to watch ... it was tough to see Tate (wrestling background) have to clinch up with Rousey when most of us were hoping she could strike and get out of the way and avoid being taken down. As soon as they grappled or clinched, most of us knew she was going for a RIDE and once on the ground ... that threat of being armbarred (just like all fellow past opponents of RR's) was there for her at any time.

Less than 2 months until Rousey-McMann ...

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

a lot of people talk about rousey's armbar like it's not a fluid thing.

part of the entertainment is watching how she transitions into the armbar.

i can't remember the dude's name, but there used to be a little fireplug bjj player and his go-to move was the kneebar.

who cares if they're perceived as a 1 trick pony? watching the execution with appreciation is reward enough.

Exactly, CR. Like her or not ... she's proven her chops as a competitor. Like many MMA media and journalists will say ... people like Ben Askren and Ronda Rousey ... they're perceived as 1-trick ponies ... but shit ... unti people can stop the wrestling, or the armbar/judo combo ... then fuck ... keep rollin' with it. We all know Ronda came off terribly on the most recent season of TUF, but watching her work in the Octagon is something. I was pulling for Tate, but knew Rousey had her number due to a better overall skill set. Now it's just up to us as fans to watch these next few years to see if and when someone catches Ronda and takes the W. That said ... respect to both Tate and Rousey as they've brought the best (and worst) out of one another in 2012 & 2013. They've brought plenty of hype to both match-ups ... and shit ... without them the women's division would still be trying to find its feet, with Dana having said in recent years there'd never be a women's division in the UFC ... shit ... the strawweights are coming this year (and some legit talent is in the mix). Shout out to Bellator, Invicta & more's alum, etc.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Ta

Every video I've seen of Rousey she was acting like a miserable cunt. I definitely want to see her get got.

I respect Rousey s dominance....but...I wish she had more then armbar subs...and I m not sire...correct me if I am wrong...but which ufc champ has done well with the "he hate me" vibe?

Dana has something here that he can pursue with the women s class if he wants....there are some good women in this weight class..

As for Tate...she is at gate keeper ststus but could star in her own rigjt...Dana needs to have her fight 2x this yr once on a fox sports type ufc match with a lesser opponent cause she needs a win for her own mindset....then a ppv undercard against a liz carmouche or McMann maybe even kaufman....

After McMann Zingano should face Rousey..

Agreed, man. I am looking forward to Rousey-Zingano when it eventually happens. Very talented (Zingano) ... just needs to recoup from her injury, etc. As for Tate ... yeah ... she always delivers exciting fights, and just needs a win or two to get back on track and regain her steady mindset. She's put on exciting fights for years, but has 2 losses to Rousey & 1 to Zingano since March 2012. But yo ... props on the wins over Coenen, Kedzie, etc. I hope she sticks around for a few more years ... she's eyecandy and talented (just not top of the MMA food chain).
