I loved Boondocks but while its first season was great the ones that followed were mediocre and became the exact same coonery that Aaron was seemingly making fun of.
Unless the forth season returns back to the roots of the first one, it's probably best to leave Boondocks at season 3... no matter how poor it was.

... I need to get in on this. They should make an espiode where Luna (the Killa Kung Fu, Wolf Bitch) comes back from the dead like stinkmeaner did and terrorize Grandad.

They only used his character in that one episode, as opposed to in season 2 where he was in like 3 or 4. I guess they saw it wasn't necessary to have Flownominal to have the same voice since the character quit rapping. If they have him rapping in Season 4, I'm sure they'd bring Busta back.
They gotta bring back Thugnificent and Gangstalicious in Season 4.

HBO Max has ordered a two-season revival of the animated series “The Boondocks.”
The 24 new episodes, as well as all 55 episodes of the original series, will launch on the forthcoming streaming service in Fall 2020. The show is based on Aaron McGruder’s comic strips, and the original creator is on board once again to reimagine the series.
“‘The Boondocks’ was a revolutionary series that sparked conversations on hot button issues and brought dark subjects into the light with episodes like ‘The Trial of Robert Kelly’, ‘The Fundraiser’ and ‘The Story of Gangstalicious’,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer for HBO Max and president of TBS, TNT and truTV. “Aaron is a gifted visionary whose unique style of storytelling is a welcome voice and we are elated The Freemans are making their thugnificent comeback on HBO Max.”
The new series will follow the adventures of self-proclaimed “Civil Rights Legend” Robert “Granddad” Freeman, and his two rambunctious grandsons Huey and Riley. The family has recently moved to an idyllic community in suburban Maryland only to see it taken over by the tyrannical Uncle Ruckus and his bizarre neo-fascist regime. Life under Ruckus turns out to be an everyday struggle to survive.
“There’s a unique opportunity to revisit the world of ‘The Boondocks’ and do it over again for today. It’s crazy how different the times we live in are now – both politically and culturally – more than a decade past the original series and two decades past the original newspaper comic. There’s a lot to say and it should be fun,” said McGruder.
McGruder returns as showrunner and will serve as executive producer along with Norm Aladjem for Mainstay Entertainment, as well as Seung Kim and Meghann Collins Robertson. Sony Pictures Animationwill produce the series in partnership with Sony Pictures Television. Variety reported in June that Sony Pictures Animation was working on a “Boondocks” reimagining as part of their new slate of alternative animation.

HBO Max's reboot of the irreverent animated series The Boondocks, which was announced in 2019 with a planned two seasons and a TV special, is no longer moving forward at the streamer.
Sony Pictures Television, which was to produce the new series, is currently discussing next steps, sources tell EW. Geekset Podcast host Young Deuces first broke the news in an interview with original Boondocks actor Cedric Yarbrough.
Based on Aaron McGruder's satirical comic strip, The Boondocks centers on a Black family — self-proclaimed "civil rights legend" Robert "Granddad" Freeman and his two rambunctious grandsons, Huey and Riley — adjusting to life in the predominantly white suburb of Woodcrest. The comic first came to the small screen in 2005, and the revival was billed as a "complete re-imagining" for "the modern era."
The new story would have seen the Freemans clashing with the tyrannical Uncle Ruckus and his neofascist regime. McGruder, an executive producer on three of the original show's four seasons, was announced as part of the creative team for the reboot.

It was not immediately clear why HBO Max scrapped the reboot, a project that had some ups and downs.
The new series previously drew criticism online after statements from J.D. Witherspoon, a voice actor and the son of John Witherspoon, who voiced Granddad on the original Boondocks. (Regina King voiced Huey and Riley.)
J.D. said in a pair of YouTube videos that the reboot was planning to use deepfake technology to replicate his father's voice rather than hire a new actor. (John died shortly after the reboot was announced.) J.D., who does a solid impression of his father, also said he auditioned to voice Granddad on the reboot but was ultimately passed over.
Yarbrough, who voiced Tom Dubois and various other characters on The Boondocks, told the Geekset podcast that the revival had been axed. "Maybe one day we'll be able to revisit it, but if we don't, then that's what that is," he said. "I wish the show is coming back."
The original Boondocks series is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
