well, yeah....that's the whole idea of job hunting, finding a position where you utilize your experience/qualifications, etc.....





some stuff i learned looking for a job at other companies

1. most background checks are either 5, 7, or 10 years back. Major companies are the one's who usually go 10 years while most do 7 years.

2. not filling out the EEOE questionaire is usually more damaging then filling it out.

3. a well written cover letter makes all of the difference in the world

4. knowing something about the company you are applying for helps as well too..

5. business/work related references outrump personal reference every time.

It's good that you're on point with yours, but a lot of the issue are those not meeting the required qualifications looking for a chance. what would be your suggestions for those that don't know or have any experience? from personal experience your experience can outdue a degree, BUT (huge but) you need that degree to back up your credentials. i applied at 28 locations in the past two weeks, went to 11 interviews and was offered jobs at 4 places, all paying more then $14 an hour in northeast ohio.

$14/hour isn't shit. But, I suppose that in Ashtabula, OH a young man without a family could get by on that kind of money. However, you neglected to state your work experience and areas of expertise. If you are, for instance, an experienced registered nurse or a CT tech, you could have just as easily said that you applied for jobs at 28 locations and got 20 offers at $25/ hour. None of that is going to help a young nigga with no marketable skills and little work experience.
