I don't think he's trash, but he's HIGHLY overrated. He's decent on offense, but on defense, no!
look up the rules to hockey. its the same damn game with the exception of ice of course and hand usage(which they rarely do in hockey anyway).

This is why its hard to be fully behind the US team...they ride donovan's dick so hard and he is very pedestrian...Watch them try and hype his ass up after this game when there are at least 4 other American players who had once in a lifetime type performances...he really is the great white hype...
Bruh, I dont even think he's decent on offense. I dont see the ball handling skills, goal scoring ability, or any sort of explosiveness. He does set his teammates up well, ill give him credit for that. But, to be rocking the number 10 is wild.

England have some superb individual players; but collectively for over 40 years they have underperformed.
The hypocritical and schizophrenic media over estimates the ability of the England unit and at the same time condemns them for not winning tournaments.

I am a massive Chelsea supporter, (I fly into lhr for most champions league knock out matches from nyc to sit in the shed @ SB) but I will be the first to say that Lampard and Terry are highly overrated. Every goal lampard scores is deflected and terry lacks pace. That said, England and the US are still the "favourites" to progress so everything is cool..
He's the U.S.'s all-time leading goal-scorer(and assists), and he can have his moments as well. Crossing the ball is also a strong-suit of his.
I listen to talksport daily so I can only imagine Callymore's phone being lit up.
The Rob Green incident is a painful one to swallow. I sympathize because I am a goalkeeper myself, but it benefitted my team so it's a wash. England will still qualify 1st outta the group, but he must be killing himself in the changing room.
As for us, like you said, we were spot on in keeping Rooney in check. I've never seen him that ineffective in a match before. Gooch and Demerit did well together and they turned it up a notch after the first half.
Overall I thought 1-1 was a decent result. I didn't see England press as hard as I though they would, and we didn't clam into a shell either.
Capello may be questioned for his changes tho. Why'd he change Ledly King for Carra??

The stand out indvidual players in England are Rooney, Ashley Cole and Stevie G. This is not just based on my view but also from other European media. They would walk into most international sides

Can't disagree with Stevie G or Cole but I though Rooney had an off night. Doesn't matter though, US and England should go through. England fans, go have a shot of Sambuca and forget about today...

Heskey played his position and with a better strike of the ball could have had goal. Bent cannot play the feeding role and so the squad could not accommodate him
