The End.Honestly man I respect football voters for this. The Hall of Fames as a whole are getting too "crowded". Shit is becoming the "Hall of very Good".

The Vikings were putting up big numbers on offense prior to Moss.
Again, Jake Reed and Chris Cater were 2 receivers you HAD TO DOUBLE TEAM. Where does that leave Moss? In single coverage. He'll win that battle most of the time, unless you get physical with him (Moss is not physical at all), Revis proved that. Hell, Revis himself sad Moss was lazy.
Some of these guy are showing their age. The Vikings always were good in the mid 90s with Carter, Reed and Robert Smith. On Offense they were among the best Ive ever seen.
Irvin DIDN'T DO SHIT. He ain't top 10 in anything. This nigga only got 65TD and 11900 Yards. Chris Carter has 2wice as many TDs and still can't get in? WTF? Irvin was a typical SLOW possession receiver. Those came a dime a dozen back then. The big playmakers on that Dallas team was Alvin Harper and Jay Novachek. The work horses were that O-Line, Moose, and Emmit.
Michael Irvin IS NOT a HOF Receiver.
IF YOU THINK MOSS IS GONNA GET IN AND CARTER CAN'T YOU ARE SERIOUSLY TRIPPING!!!!!!! IF THEY ARE HOLDING SOMETHING AGAINST CARTER WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GONNA DO TO MOSS?
And the reason they finally started calling offensive pass interference.Like I said man Irvin was the start of the WR that "beat up" the DB.
... Chris Carter was the Vikings in the 90s before Moss came along...
And the reason they finally started calling offensive pass interference.
Like I said man Irvin was the start of the WR that "beat up" the DB. Again you basing it on stats. Shit for that matter If Im not mistaken Joe Montana isnt top 5 in anything....yet he's widely considered the best ever. That doesnt mean shit. How do you think Alvin harper was able to get single coverage? Why do you think the middle was open for Novacek? Because 88 was being double teamed.
Yea, the "stats as the only qualifier" group are gonna have a harder time to get in. Times have changed, this era is different, and i think the voters are gonna have to look at more than just raw numbers (particularly for skill position guys). Especially with the number of wideouts with crazy numbers coming up within the next 5-6years (carter, brown, harrison, to, bruce, holt...). Everyone simply cannot make it and some damn good players are gonna be left out.And what exactly did "Carters" Vikings do at all in that time? Nothing. Thats the point. Im not saying Carter wasnt good. But being hall of fame to me is ANOTHER level. A level that needs to stop being "given" away because of big stats.
We also ran the ball 70% of the time which definitely effected his stats
its the cowboys though, you have to ignore the extreme hatred

You do realize that guys that get big stats get them because they ate great players? it's the cats like Irving that have average stats that take away from what the hall is supposed to be!

Fuck Cris Carter. Andre Reed should have been in. How can you leave 1/3 of most dominant offensive trio in the NFL at that time out of the HOF?

If being a cokehead was in issue Michael Irvin wouldn't be in...
What's plaguing Carter is the playoffs and general lack of hype during his career. sometime the HOF can come down to popularity.
u guys that say irvin is not a hall of famer are really letting your dislike of the cowboy could your judgement
And another thing, Randy Moss got big numbers on that Viking team in large part due to Chris Carter and Jake Reed drawing double teams. If it was just Randy Moss alone on that team, he wouldn't have the number he has today...
I'm lookin at "Easy" Ed McCaffrey's numbers, he's only 10 TDs behind Irvin, and mind you, Ed came off the bench most of his career. BTW, before the rest of you clowns talk shit, Easy Ed has 3 rings. 1 with the 9ers and 2 with Denver. And that fool made big plays.
Irvin:
750 catches
11,904 yds
65 tds
3 Rings:
In the playoffs, racking up stats on a perennial Super Bowl contender. Not to mention on the team of the decade.
Carter:
1,101 catches
13,899 yds
130 tds
1 NFC Championship game....
Gary Clark:
699 catches
10,856 yds
65 tds
Facts are facts, my man!
Who career is Irving closer to, Clark who doesn't have a prayer of getting in or Carter who is the 2nd greatest wr ever?

I had to fix that for you, you left out some things.

Even with the playoff numbers he still doesn't come close to Carter and I haven't looked but I am willing to bet that Clarkes playoff numbers are better than Irving's.
Irvin got a pass because of him winning those rings, and because everyone says he was the leader of the triplets.
Stats wise though
Its not WHAT you do, its WHERE and WHEN you do it.
What did Irvinfg do in the playoffs? I know what Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman did but what did he do?
