The Michael Jordan of the NFL has already played well before Michael Jordan came in to the NBA. His name was Joe Montana.
I like Peyton, but this GOAT talk has to stop. Peyton's choked in too many big games and Brady's career is defined by Adam Venetieri. By the time Peyton retires I'll give him top 5, but if he wants to be amongst the all time greats like Montana (4 Superbowls wins) and Elway (5 Superbowl Apperances, 2 wins) he'll have to win at least 2 more.
You can say the same thing about Montana
if it wasnt for Jerry Rice catching the game winning touchdowns against Cincinnati both times...
......I dont understand your logic with Brady because he still had to bring them down the field for Adam to kick the winning field goal and kicking a 48 and 41 yard fg isnt easy especially when the kicker is kicking on the right and left hash of the field.
Does he deserve to get the credit for the win.......I would agree but so does Tom Brady for bring them down the field with an average offense....
Vick was a BUST, not another Jordan.
One player can't dominate the NFL the way he can the NBA. Another Jordan isn't possible.

we'll see what manning does over the rest of his career, if he matches montana for rings, I know his #'s will blow montanas out the water & then i'll give him the nod

So where you put Brady?
I don't. Brady reminds me of Troy Aikman. Efficient, but not a big game QB. Just as Troy had Emmit to finish off drives, Brady had Veneteri. On top of that he lost the biggest game in NFL history, and their overall playoff run in that year was unimpressive.
Peyton Manning > Brady
Eli Manning > Brady
Still rolling with with Deion as the closest thing to a Jordonesque NFL player who could play all sides of the ball and be dominant.
![]()
I am comparing dominance on both sides of the ball. Deion never really got enough touches on offense, so lets use Special Teams and his play on defense. He was a threat either way you look at it. Jordan was a beast offensively and was a great defender. Basketball players play both sides. Football players usually don't, but the closest comparison (In my opinion) when looking at an NFL Player would be one of Deion's caliber. No player plays Ironman (offense and defense) in football, but the things Deion could do were great. There is npo way any player could dominate the game of football the way Jordan dominated the NBA, but Deion could have been the one.Dieon was a GREAT RETURN MAN but anytime he faced high caliber receivers he got abused like a red headed step child. Deion played great against mediocre talent.

Troy dissected them 49ers more than a few times didn't he?!? Not that he's in the GOAT discussion, but it shouldn't be held against him that Jimmy built a great team around him...he was the #1 overall pick, a team is suppose to be built so that he can drive them to a championship. Aikman did that...
Tom Brady 14-3 with 3 SuperBowls rings
Peyton Manning 9-8 1 SuperBowl ring
Eli Manning 4-2 1 SuperBowl ring
So you telling Eli and Peyton is better than Tom Brady when he won more playoff games and won more Superbowl rings than them combine....that makes no sense at all....
If want to make an argument that Tom had Vinatieri......What about Peyton Manning he had a Hall of Famer reciever, good tight end, good second reciever, and good running back but only produced one title
Same goes for Eli he had a really good receiver, two running back and a great defense to help him win the SuperBowl..
I dont understand why you got so much hate for Tom Brady when he never had the offense to win this Superbowl's compare to both Manning brothers and Troy Aikman....![]()
In The first 2 NFC Championships encounters the 9ers had horrible corners. I mean HORRIBLE. They were some of the worst DBs I've ever seen, and this is coming from a 9er fan. Eric Davis and Tyrone Drakeford were getting abused by Alvin Harper. Hell, you can blame them 2 niggas for us not winning at least one of those 2 encounters.
In 94 the 9ers brought in Dieon for the sole purpose of covering Harper, and that he did. And in that 94 NFC Chamionship game Troy got sacked 6 times, knocked down 22 times and suffered a fractured rib. Dallas got they asses WHOOPED that day. With that said, Aikman, Johnson and Novechek are the only ones who got my respect cuz while Troy was covered in mud and blood, HE DIDN'T QUIT like Emmit, Irvin, and Harper.
Tom Brady is the "Gladstone Duck" of the NFL. He has to be the luckiest muthafucka in NFL history. The infamous "tuck" rule, Bledsoe bailing him out in the first AFC Championship game, Adam Veneteri WINNING those 2 Superbowls. A QB gets full credit for a win when he either 1) runs the ball in himself or 2) THROWS the ball to his RECEIVERS LIKE HE'S SUPPOSE TO DO. If your kicker kicks the game winning score, then it is the kicke who deserves the credit, NOT THE QB. If the QB wants credit, then he either THROWS the touchdown (Like Montana did back in the day) or runs the ball in.
Aikman ass couldn't quit, those pick 6s is what had our asses down 14 outta the 21 points MI fumbled the other 7. He did fight like a mofo though, that was a legendary game. Deion made a helluva play & Switzer lost his mind sealing our fate. That's still the most painful loss ever. After that, no loss hurts. We had history right there!! We were destined for 4 straight![]()
... and yes Vick was going to change the game. He was going to be the first QB to throw for 3000 and run for a 1000. Thats changing the game right there.
Hey, I hate Dallas with a passion but I'm objective enough to recognize that they were amongst the all time greats. Any one of the 91-92 Dallas teams could whoop ANY team of THIS ERA with ease.
Aikman>>>>>Brady
Marino>>>>>Everybody except Manning if he wins.
