Get on your soapbox...

E-40!!!

There are about 5 of my threads on this page. I hope you all stop by, check things out, and keep those parties going (by posting) in them. Let's keep all the good threads, no matter who started them alive. There are a bunch of people who don't want this side, or the other version of SOL to succeed. Let's not let the good stuff die. For every "Black Men/Women ain't shit" thread, we need some "Black Men/Women ARE THE SHIT" ones as well. More importantly, the positive, thought provoking, etc. should get the love they deserve by people adding their 2 cents. I've seen several people (myself included) start cool, interesting, thinking man's/woman's threads only to see them die a slow and painful death. Let's support each other people. This should be a place where we present problems, solutions, advice, and many other things that will make our time here as efficient and effective as possible...

...And one more thing, let's not forget the freaktivity...

:cool::devil::cool::devil::cool::devil::cool:

Ahem...

*mic check

Men take care of your feet.

And shit isn't suppose to smell like burnt refuge.

That is all

*steps down

I can't take it no more.

The next time that one of my colleagues at work don't pull their weight whilst working with me, they're gonna know from me.

Rant over.

*walks into thread ... looks around*

Hmmph.

*takes off backpack ... unzips it ... takes out out bag of Doritos and opens it and empties contents on top of Soap Box and starts eating*

Wait, I just noticed DA said something about deleting a thread. Damn, did I miss something? Was there a DA thread that slipped passed me?

*stand up on the soapbox*

*grabs nuts*

My new motto is this. "Fuck the world with a LONG dick".

Then I'm going to teabag that hoe like a republican...

*grabs bottle of goose, chunk up the deuce to my fans, and a middle finger to anyone else*

Women.

It is not sexy, pretty, or even remotely cute when your underarm hair is long enough to discern the difference between a crew cut and a bob.

Go find a Bic. That is all.

*leaves stage*

I could go on for quite some time, but here's the condensed version:

Women: Say what you mean and mean what you say. Have some confidence in yourself. Quit worrying so much about what size you are- if God made you, he also made a fan club for you. Confidence makes you sexy, not your clothes, makeup or Photoshop. Stop talking trash about black men. For example, if all men are dogs, then when you sleep with us, what does that make you? Stop having kids to get attention, companionship, income, and validation from other like-minded women. Give up your addiction to drama and conflict. Learn what a man looks and acts like. Then, only date MEN. If you are female and claim there are no good men, look again. Look closely at the men you call "boring"- the ones with stable jobs, a place to live, and the will to work. You know- the ones that can't take you shopping, buy you a car, or get you some cheese biscuits every night at Red Lobster. Those are where you'll find a few real men. If you still can't find someone, don't settle- teach us that you won't put up with our trifling ways by dating outside the race. There are men of every nationality who adore Black women. Go on and date a few of them- some of us do it all the time. We'll shape up if you ship out.

PS: If you let your man take a naked picture of you or make a movie of you, and he SWEARS he'll never show it to anyone, it's probably on the Internet. I recommend you don't show your face in any of the photos he keeps.

I ain't done.

Men: We must stop living in fear of being emasculated. We can show love, smile, joke, and give props to others without having anything taken from ourselves. We don't need to chant "No Homo" every five minutes if we are sure about who we are. We have to stop validating ourselves by showing off how much we have. People attracted to our money will leave when we run out. Learn what it is to be a MAN. A man is a worker, a provider, a protector, and someone who adds to his community. We do not have to have sex with everything in sight to be a man. We do not have to have several children by several women to be a man. We are needed by our women. We are needed by our sons. We are needed by our daughters. We are needed to be leaders. When we are absent, our community suffers. When we destroy our community, there is no community.

All:
I. 70% of black children are in single parent homes because (for the most part) many Black adults either:

1. Are too lazy, selfish or immature to put in the work it takes to have and keep a good marriage.
or
2. Don't understand what marriage is or why it is necessary.

II. We gotta start loving books more than looks. Otherwise, we'll have to start blaming our problems on the "brown man" instead of the "white man" in about 30 years. Schools do not prepare you for life. YOU prepare YOU for life.

DISCLAIMER: Don't get it twisted- I'm not perfect, either.

Now, I'm done.

This is my first time on the soapbox but I felt this needed to be said.

This is the internet it is not a way of life. The internet is not an unwanted intrusion into your home. Neither will someone bust down your front door and threaten your life. A recent beef developed between SOL members and went waaaaaaaaay past ugly. Internet beefs are one thing but when members start to attack a person's lifestyle, family and in particular start dragging their children into the mix, I take offense to that. A person's children are always off limits.

There hasn't been one subject on SOL or BGOL that can justify that type of behavior. If your opinion meets with mass rejection that's it, end of story. At that point it should be obvious the people don't share your opinion. GET OVER IT!

Opinions are just that opinions, they are nothing more. We are not on this planet to judge others. Neither is anyone here expected to live up to others standards. Not one person on this board is living a lifestyle that is pure, holy or Godlike hence our memberships on this board. Yet quick to label others with derogatory titles. All this because people didn't share or agree the of the other.

Seems to me the beast of the subconscious has taken form carrying ugliness and fury. What I'm saying is this shit needs to stop. It's time to examine ourselves but when doing so be honest in our assessments. After that understand none of this shit is that important.

Mo-I respect your words and I apologize to those I let down in the situation below:
http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?p=6843801#post6843801

Onyx under the circumstances presented I probably would've responded the same way. I see no reason for an apology when defending self and kind. It's a natural reaction to strike back at an aggressor. If you don't respond you'll most likely be attacked again. For every action there's an opposite reaction, that's basic throughout the universe.

Enlighten me. This is only an attempt to put things back in the positive.

Oh, I was saying I think I missed something. I'm not sure what happened, I just heard about something with Onyx and Bi and I have yet to see everything that happened...

Good points...

Spare yourself and trust me it's really not worth the effort to pursue the matter. :hmm:

I'm not pursuing it at all. But you know how things go (around here), eventually those that don't know will know. Whatever the case it's business as usual for me. I'm just here to kill some time and interact with folks. The net is just an escape from the real world when such an escape is needed...

:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

Women stop objectifying and degrading yourself it makes it bad for all other women yourself included

When did so many young women -- especially those from the middle and upper middle-classes -- begin to find pleasure in being called "Bitches and Hoes" instead of slapping the person referring to them in that degrading manner? Was it the growing popularity of the Hip-Hop movement that numbed young minds of both genders to the debased and insulting intent of "Bitches and Hoes?"

Was it the incomprehensible and insidious rise of non-melodic Gangsta Rap -- with its graphic spoken lyric telling tales of treacherous living in the urban core -- that somehow made "Bitches and Hoes" acceptable to most high school and many college age males and females? The only purpose of "Bitches and Hoes" is to make females sub-human so they can be treated less well.

The fact that awful phrase persists in current modern culture is disgusting and its intra-gender propagation as a term of endearment makes the sane wonder how it is possible "Bitches and Hoes" can be perceived by some as both a compliment and a condemnation in the same thought.
