What am I doing wrong? (White Women in the workplace)

I always felt like I could not be rattled but these bitches are pissing me off. I'm so laid back, calm, quiet and hardly ever argue with people, it's usually b/c I don't give a fuck or it's just not that big of a deal. They got me stressed the fuck out and drinking like a mothafucka man. The ones under me try to act like they my boss.

I finish college at OU not too long ago and started that real world job about 8 months ago. I was warned before I started the job about how scandalous people are in the workplace when they want to move up. I was just like yeah yeah whatever. OH BOY this shit here is real.

Like Martin said in You So Crazy "White people them some telling mothafuckas." I almost got let go when I first started b/c word got back the the head white lady in charge that I just only doing the job just for the money, and that I don't really like it. Who told? A WHITE GIRL. She overheard a white guy and me talking about the job. He said the same things I did even worse that he was actually looking for another job but his name never got mentioned. When I got called to the office the chick that told on me was there to be a witness against me. I just had to sit there and take it.

I was closing up one night and 3 white chicks were complaining about how they had to be back early in the morning, so I let them leave early(told them they did not have to finish their jobs) since I was opening in the morning and that I would handle it. One of them told on me.

All they do is talk shit about everyone, even each other and claim they "love each other." Shit one is about to get another one fired for smoking weed. The reason she knows is b/c the one that smoke weeds thinks she is her friend so she thought she could tell her. I am actually cool with the weed head but fuck I can't warn her about what might go down not my problem.

I work in area that has a high population of mexicans. Never had a problem with any mexican chicks ever, the ones I work with or the customers.

Customers I had problems with so far WHITE WOMEN(one called corporate headquarters on me).

What am I doing? I pretty much stay to myself, never try to get all up in their business and don't tell them mine. Is this just how white women are or are all women in the workplace like this?

That being said, you gotta remember one thing: If you're not the owner of the company, your subordinates are not your friends. Find friends in other places. Why? Because they want your job. They want your paycheck.

So, keep your mouth shut and do your job. When they ask you about your day or try to make small talk, use one words answers and tell them they need to get back to work.

In short, do your job and keep your comments to yourself.

They seem to always be fearful of losing their job thinking if they don't throw people under the bus then their not effective managers/co-workers.

I know your suppose to come to work and do a job BUT you can't just do a great job, keep to yourself and leave at the end of the day. You'll get quickly labeled as the loner, anti-social and not a team player etc. Even though your work is above satisfactory level. I guess I should have said what job I had so you can understand why I'm getting so pissed. I am an assistant manager at Walgreens. So these white female customers know they can come in and talk shit and get away with it. I have worked at a total of 2 stores and at one White lady told our asian photo girl to go back where she came from. The bosses knew of this and do nothing b/c the lady brings money to the store.

The workers know all the assistant managers can do is write them up. That don't faze them one bit b/c they will get a speech from the head boss and that's it. Since I am one of the newer ones there I don't have the pull like the white female assistants b/c well the head lady is white too. I just need this experience for my resume. I'm learning Photo, Pharmacy, and Managerial skills. Hope I can get that dream job soon.

#1. Never air out your personal feelings about the job in the office, and absolutely never discuss them with co-workers/subordinates. That is not the place and those are not the people for you to air grievances.

#2. In any supervisory position be firm and fair. Never do a subordinates work for them, you are the supervisor for a reason. It's find to help out if the workload dictates but never excuse a subordinate from their duties, it simply sends the wrong message.

#3. Understand that the corporate environment is incredibly cut throat and that there is always someone envious of your success. That being the case, keep conversations with co-workers polite but professional, never give anyone ammo that can later be used against you in any way.

In addition to the points listed above understand that women apply emotions to nearly every situation and the larger percentage of their actions are based on how they "feel", so don't waste time trying to find logic or fairness in their actions just do what you have to do to protect your own interest.
