I knew that arranging a fight with Mosley for MArgarito would be the wrong move for him. Many forget how dangerous Shane can be. Margarito may go downhill from here.

It looks like Shane just started off better than Margarito in this one. And the fact that there were a lot of cliches in the early rounds were key to preventing Margarito to pulling off a lot of punches in the first four rounds...However, when he kept getting countered by that right hook, he was in big trouble. If he couldn't nullify that (which meant he may have had to go southpaw) then he was gonna go down...
For those that think that the Cotto fight ruined him, I disagree. He hardly got hurt in that fight by Cotto because Cotto got his in and then got out in the early rounds. There wasn't as much up close fighting in the early rounds until the 5th though 7th rounds. Here, Mosley took the fight to Margarito and prevented him from having any momentum by either cliching at times while leading or hurting him with the right hook counter.

I think Shane's speed creates more true power than Cotto, Cotto gradually wears out opponents then finishes them off. So What? makes a good point, Cotto didn't go to the body at all.

Styles make fights. Cotto is a boxer who moves and is a good fundamental fighter. Margarito is a fighter who will come forward, has no defense and no head movement. Margarito's only chance is his hope of wearing you down, which he wont be able to do with the experienced, tough, fundamental fighters.

I never said he would beat him in the same way as Mosley. They are too different boxers. Shane has much more power than PBF. However, Margarito is a brawler and not a boxer. He's just doesn't posses great boxing skills. He wouldn't stand a chance against and elite fighter like PBF. He would get outpointed to death. Margarito barely landed punches on Mosley and Mosley is willing to trade punches at time. He would land 30 percent of the points..if not less on PBF.... amateur night.. he's too slow and doesn't have the boxing skills to even remotely challenge someone like PBF...

But you gotta understand, a fight like the one Margarito & Cotto has ruins fighters. Although I picked Margarito, I knew there was a chance that the Cotto fight may have ruined him from taking all those shots. It's possible Cotto could be ruined as well. We'll see whenever he fights next
