There is an art to picking an upset and boxing is one of the easiest sports to spot one when it is coming. That is why I was able to pick the two biggest boxing upsets of 2008.

Antonio Margarito over Miguel Cotto

Manny Pacquiao over Oscar De La Hoya

Now I am about to pick the 1st major upset of 2009 (sorry Arizona fans you may or may not get a surprise next week with my Super Bowl pick) and it is so easy to see you should be taking your entire paycheck, your tax refund (don't front you do rapid refund), your baby momma tax refund check or whatever money you won on my 2-0 NFL Championship weekend picks and put it on:

You are probably thinking to yourself:

"But BonaFide one Cotto beat Mosley and Magarito beat Cotto so this is an easy win for Margarito right?"

My friend that is why I am paid 25c an hour to run this site because sometimes you have to look beyond the obvious.

Hmmm,I'll be rooting for Shane...but it looks like a bad match-up for him,to me.
He is,after all...on the down side of his career,but at the very least he is a live dog...

Margarito will beat Shane severely
only way Shane gets a win is if Margarito throws the fight

Cotto vs Mosley showed how evenly matched those two were with Cotto having an edge - it wasnt so much a battle of styles as it was a battle of conditioning, strength and speed
Shane got edged

Fast forward to Cotto v Margarito - dude was dismantled by the bigger stronger Margarito

Shane isnt fast enough to outbox Margarito
He isnt strong enough to outslug Margarito

Tomorrow night another 90's HOF fighter will look horrible and catch a severe asswhooping
worst part is the asswhooping will be from a coward too scared to rematch the guy who beat him
 
Co-sign, I've predicted Mosley all the way, cats are sleeping.

Remember that Shanes never been knocked out, I don't see it happening toningt. Hes fought tougher, or just as tough figters as Margarito but those fighters had better boxing skills than Margarito.

Also, as someone stated, if Cotto had a better stamina and ability to take punches like Shane does he would have easily beat Margarito.

The main thing that has me hyped over Shane is the fact that he has Naseem Richardson in his corner who is a student of the game and great with coming up with a defensive game plan.

One more thing, to those who reference the Cotto fight as a blueprint for this fight, you have to remember styles make fights. Cotto was used to walking his opponents down and being the aggressor in his fights, a style he had to abandon against Margarito and he was uncomfortable fighting on his heels.

Shane isnt that type of fighter and he used to fighter bigger fighters.

I see Shane mixing it up, fighting on the inside (like Clotter did successfully vs. Margarito) and then getting on his "bike" and moving around, making Margarito chase him while giving him awkward angles to have to throw punches from
 
I hope Shane wins, but there are so many questions about him coming in the fight. Plus he's had trouble with bigger/taller fighters. What could be a plus for him is that Margarito isn't known for jab leads, which flusters Shane a bit...

If Mosley does pull it off, I think he will fight Berto or Clottey (most likely Clottey)
 
Mosley is nothing more than a washed up stepping stone with a name that fighters on the way up can say they beat.

I'm also aware that Margarito got some bitch in him too, (some niggas may say it's a wise business decision) because he's avoided Paul Williams as all costs since winning that title.

He doesn't want anymore of Williams since Williams whupped that ass.

OP has 2 eyes that actually work. Props.

Don't know how anybody could put Shane as a 4-1 against Marga when he ain't fought since Cotto, and Shane is WAY more capable of staying mobile for 12 rounds and counter punching. Cotto was demolishing Marga before he put the flesh eating disease in his gloves and ruined him.

Shane comes to fight.
