Does anyone not remember that before Cotto got Clubber Langed he was beating the living dog shit out of Marga?

Shane Mosley is actually a BETTER BOXER than Cotto and has/had the conditioning to keep the pace up 12 rnds. It showed in their fight. The first half Cotto won, but the 2nd half Shane hurt him and had him acting like a blonde the rest of the fight.

Stop sleeping on Shane. He came down in weight and bullied a bully and beat the breaks off him.

this was the key. Shane worked the body from rounds 4-7and most of the 8th...which did two things... took out Margarito's legs and power...and then made him protect his body..which exposed his head.....brilliantly fought bout by Shane..his took this cat to school...

I never said he would beat him in the same way as Mosley. They are too different boxers. Shane has much more power than PBF. However, Margarito is a brawler and not a boxer. He's just doesn't posses great boxing skills. He wouldn't stand a chance against and elite fighter like PBF. He would get outpointed to death. Margarito barely landed punches on Mosley and Mosley is willing to trade punches at time. He would land 30 percent of the points..if not less on PBF.... amateur night.. he's too slow and doesn't have the boxing skills to even remotely challenge someone like PBF...

I agree, but Jose Luis Castillo is also a brawler. And he aguably defeated PBF the first time they fought, and I believe compubox showed that he landed more punches. So you never know. Then again, even Jose Luis Castillo has better boxing skills than Margarito.

Thats bullshit. If thats the case Margarito would have been done after the Paul Williams fight, or even the Clottey fight, and a few others.

He always takes that type of punishment because he has no defense whatsoever. People just got hyped and fooled by that Cotto fight, but a good jab and body work will always neutralize a fighter like Margarito.

I think Cotto is smart laying off as long as he has. That fight was brutal for both parties. What pissed me off in his fight versus Margarito is that he became a headhunter instead of displaying the devastating body work that he is known for. Shane was sticking the body and would counter Margarito's slow ass punches with vicious hooks. That is the formula (as we all saw) to beat Margo...

For those that think that the Cotto fight ruined him, I disagree. He hardly got hurt in that fight by Cotto because Cotto got his in and then got out in the early rounds.

You get hit that many times in the head, your punch resistance starts to go. Cotto was hitting him w/ vicious head shots that would have knocked someone else out.

Remember when Mayorga use to have an iron chin? Now he just has an average chin if that. Thats the boxing game

mayorga has the same chin, an older body and gets hit in that chin alot more

never seen anyone expose mayorga like that because no one as fast, as small and strong as shane has fought him intelligently

Also, Clottey broke his hands in the 5th/6th round of that fight, he was getting in that ass and having a similar fight to what Shane did tonight.

Margarito looked way too linear for Mosley not go have a fairly high connect percentage against him...It looked like Tony was a stationary target for Shane at times...

with the Cotto/Mosley fight, Cotto got the fast start and took four of the first six, but Mosley came back in the seventh and rocked him in the ninth, and had him running the rest of the way. I thought Shane won that fight 7 to 5.

Without a technical loss, but I actually gave that fight to Collazo. But it only counts how its written in the record books so he's undefeated for now.

I think Berto having that hard a time with Collazo will improve him, just how much it will is still to be determined.

Margarito was hurt in that fight, he wasn't in serious danger of being knocked out, but he was definitely wobbled at least twice in that fight. Shit in the latter rounds Williams beat him in the 11th and 12th son.

Paul Williams has just recently started sitting down on his punches & working on his power. Don't act like Paul wasn't a pitty pat volume puncher.

Again, Clottey fought HALF the fight, & would have won. The difference between the Clottey fight & this Mosley fight is that Margarito fought w/ much more intensity while getting his ass whooped. In this fight, he had nothing. His legs weren't there. He looked like a shot fighter. I'm not trying to take away from Shane's victory, because Shane showed that he beats Margarito at anytime.
