This is up next. Young brothas...always get the home 1st. A car note kills your debt to income ratio and would have had me buying something in the 120-130 range. Well worth the wait.

Right on with the advice from the board. What's the sq ft. on your crib? We're building our first home here in STL. 1400 sq ft before finishing the basement. 186k on a half acre. It will look similar to this

Man no bullshit i was in ATL last week and happened upon a party in that very subdivision. You should know that a few dancers from Cheetah live a few doors down from you... was just in their crib and everything was exactly the same... the dancer and her brother had just moved in and construction in the neighborhood was ongoing.

good shit...up here, 170 k wont get you shit...that house would easily go for 500k and up...good steal

Damn Skippy. I still don't understand how they justify the price. But always good to see a black man on the come up.

Damn those cribs are mad cheap. Like going to the dolla store on payday. :eek:

You ain't never lied....those are some killer deals. :eek: I need to get the hell out of cali :smh:

Oh and that Brokeback C-walker is lying just to let ya'll know. :lol:

Props on the smart move man. Buy a house before you buy a car because a Car aint shit.

$172 FUCKING THOUSAND! You've got to be shitting me!!! Too bad I can't stand the South. Still enough, it's a fucking steal. For what I pay in the markets I play I could do a 3 for 1 and still have change to play with!

I'll only speak about the only markets I know or have bought real estate in:

In D.C. that would go for: $700-800K in NW and SW / $450-600K in NE / $350K SE
In NoVA: $500-$700K
In PG: $450-550K
In NYC: $600-$700K in Queens / $750-900K in Brooklyn / $1.5-2MM in Manhattan
In Florida: $400-550K in Miami / $650-700K in Palm Beach
In Cali: $800-$1.2MM in LA (Palos Verde/Redondo Beach) / $1.7-2.1MM in San Fran

Races in Cobb County, Georgia:

* White Non-Hispanic (68.8%)
* Black (18.8%)
* Hispanic (7.7%)
* Other race (3.6%)
* Two or more races (1.9%)
* Asian Indian (0.9%)
* American Indian (0.7%)
* Chinese (0.6%)
* Korean (0.6%)

(Total can be greater than 100% because Hispanics could be counted in other races)

Born and bred in NYC. Considering moving to Cobb County off of advice of friends. Will I have to keep my temper in check when dealing with white people??

Congrats...and confirming FTP status.

I think he's going to walk into that nice house in those 650 dollar boots he was lying about in his other thread.

Yes, I think he's lying too but not about the house prices. Check out what you can get in Cobb County for $260k:

This place has a big pool in the back too! Something like this just outside of Philly would cost you around $800K! I just have no idea what the taxes are.

260k in cobb aint shit tax wise. I'd be surprised if they were more than $3500.

No lie....I'm in the 'A' as well and was shocked by the taxes....in my county they charge 2 taxes, one state and county and the other is city. Taxes go up every year.

If you are interested in ATL homes look at this website:

http://www.atlantamls.com/

They do put tax info on there.
anywhere you are u get hit like that - I spent the last 10 years in the A. Taxes arent shit compared to NY so they arent that bad to me

$2k aint shit

Im in carolina now and pay $1800 for a house worth around 200k

I feel bad for old people in LA and NY who own their cribs. Might have bought it for 80k now its worth 800k and the taxes will beat em in the head

Congrats Homie.. The market is turning around like crazy now. I live in Denver and the houses are not as cheap as ATL, but they are getting there. Mad forclosures for the taking. The wife and I have bid on a "quick sale" pre forclosure house now. The House was bought and still worth 280k, the owners owe 250k. The bank is letting it go for 225k.

I mean they are letting go bank owned 2000sqf properties and up for 200-210k that were only built within the last 5 years. Im glad wifey and I waited. I feel bad for all the ones that are losing their houses due to bad decisions or mis guided advice. BUT, it worked in our benefit..

The only bad thing about quick sales is that the owners still ocuppy the property. The bank and the owners have to agree on the bid and then we have to give the owners ample time to find another place and move out. OUr bid has been in for 3 days and the wait is killing me.. I really want that house.

M,

that's not how it works in CA. local property tax is determined by acquisition price, so those long time owners are doing just fine.

i can't speak for other states, but if they have to pay property tax on market value, that's fucked. californians haven't had to pay on market value since 1978. remember prop 13?

Well, I'm grossing about 105K before taxes, so I should be okay on the upkeep/taxes/etc.

Plus I put away 25K in reserve money. You never know what could happen. :yes:
