Movie News: Fantastic Four - First Steps (2025) UPDATE: ROBERT DOWNEY JR IS DOCTOR DOOM! NEW TRAILER!

Just came back from seeing it, 8.5 out of 10 for me. Would've loved more action but the comedy kept the movie going for me. I've come to the terms a while back to not expect these movies to portray characters abilities to the extent of their true characters. But as a movie it was solid.

If I had to nitpick... 1. Galactus could/should never be defeated that easily. He has cosmic awareness, so he would have known what happened was about to happen, he can teleport so it should have/would have been nothing to teleport him and the child out of harms way. He also can teleport through different dimensions so sending him to one wouldn't make a difference, he'd be right back where he wanted to be. He can manipulate matter and control the souls of others, he also could generate powerful force fields so he could have placed a barrier to where he couldn't be pushed. They completely gimped him for this movie and it's sad to see.

2. Why is it that when there's a threat to earth as a whole, none of the other heroes rally together. Yes it's a fantastic 4 movie, but Galactus is not a villain that the fantastic 4 could/should be able to handle with the situation given in the film. Once earth is a threat, there should be all of the protectors of earth stepping up, it should be another avengers endgame scenario. It's like all the other heroes didn't give a shit that the earth was on the brink of destruction, leave it to the fantastic 4.
Spoiler

1. Didn’t know galactus could do that which make it even worse that he was stay puft marshmallow man

2. It’s a diff earth and I’m guessing on this earth they the first known individuals with power as far as we know in this saga

3. I’m surprise nobody really went nerd and dissect reed awful plan in the first place… the moving earth plan.. hey the reason why earth is the way it is cause of this solar system, where it’s located, the sun, and the fucking moon.. moving earth means we no longer have the moon, we not in the perfect coordinates from the sun, and we not in the same solar system.. moving earth could be hazardous to all life on this planet and the planet itself..nig could’ve destroyed all life and the planet.. nobody thought hey this plan kinda stupid in fact it’s fucking horrible.. I’m surprised nobody nitpick that if they wanted to go full nerd and scientific

Interstellar? You mean book shelf? I hated that movie after the nig jumped out the spaceship and he was talking from outta space to his daughter through a bookshelf… movie was good up to that point and than I was like wtf is this shit
Again with the Interstellar slander...movie took artistic license with the tesseract but Kip Thorne and other physicist consulted on the movie and this is what they came out with..once he actually fell into the black hole you knew the movie wasn't going end there.

Starscream indeed :smh: :rolleyes2::lol:

This is the movie Nolan was smelling himself thinking he can put out anything and people would call it’s masterpiece.. I didn’t like his arrogance with the first trailer of that movie.. nig just had a motherfucker talking while driving in a cornfield.. than threw the name of the title out.. I was like oh this motherfucker just think he can do anything and people will like it.. I should of knew the fuck shit was gonna carry into the movie.. once the nig jumped out the ship and started moving books from outta space he said fuck making sense people gonna eat it up.. than this nig daughter became older than him, this nig in space for like 70 yrs with no food and yet he dosent die.. I was like fuck this guy and his bookshelf movie.. I hated dark knight rises anyway

My same complaint, but they needed to show.
What a mother will do for the love of her child. Which is getting old. As if Reed didnt care for Franklin.

Saw it last night and loved it! The best of ALL the Fantastic Four films. It being set in the 60's really gave the film a fresh unique aesthetic. Thought the acting was on point from everyone however Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm) really shined in this. Loved that the film wasn't afraid to slow down and develop the characters. That family bond was excellent! Overall, just a really fun film. I'll definitely check it out again. Thumbs up!

Marvel/Disney having to take place in the 60s was a cheat code it was smart. That was already 60 percent of the battle. It gave them a leg up and allowed them to make it as accurate as possible to the comic. How they do a sequel or have them in current day is gonna be interesting.

I think they'll be fine once they come to the present day MCU/Earth-616 universe because it won't be JUST THEM anymore. They'll be sharing a universe/screen time with other superheroes, and they can structure interesting storylines around that. The thing they really need to be careful about is how they handle Franklin Richards moving forward because he's the ultimate cheat code.

He messed up their suits but they felt comfortable with him moving the planet.

Good to hear!! better than Cap 4 and thunderbolts??

Cap 4 was okay not as bad as everyone says but wasn't as good as it could and should have been.

And I aint letting NOBODY sh*t on that record opening weekend. That was incredible in this climate and after the pressure of Deadpool

Thunderbolts should have made more but it was never about that. It was about getting the love back.

It was VERY VERY VERY good.

Critics and audiences loved MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Florence was excellent as always and now Yelina can't be denied.

Tomake a movie THAT good with so called c list characters? I know Marvel was back.

But this? Was exactly what the world needed to see in a weird way it did in a lesser sense for Marvel what Superman desperately needed to do for DC.

It showed the world Marvel does this.

This was excellent from casting to script to effects to sound to production.

Each of the 3 movies did what they had to do.

I also thought Cap4 wasnt as bad as everyone said; it should have been better though..

Thunderbolts was good and you right; to make that movie with C list comic characters was good shit..

I havent seen FF4 yet but will go see it this week for sure! Marvel Studios always cast well so im sure FF4 hit home with that! I thought it would make more though...

Let me know immediately what you think.

I'm holding off giving a full review till then

The weird thing is you have posters who have claimed to see Sinners stating this is an excellent movie.
Outside of like 4 people on here bgol has some of the worst movie takes I've spent hours laughing at on the entire interwebs.

Most people on here just watch what's popular and are just to be distracted for a couple of hours, They wouldn't know a well crafted story or screenplay if it came with an Oscar pre attached. It's the same movie fans who think loud screaming = good acting and that marvel films are peak cinema Lol
