Movie News: Fantastic Four - First Steps (2025) UPDATE: ROBERT DOWNEY JR IS DOCTOR DOOM! NEW TRAILER!

Outside of like 4 people on here bgol has some of the worst movie takes I've spent hours laughing at on the entire interwebs.

Most people on here just watch what's popular and are just to be distracted for a couple of hours, They wouldn't know a well crafted story or screenplay if it came with an Oscar pre attached. It's the same movie fans who think loud screaming = good acting and that marvel films are peak cinema Lol
I’m not sure if I’m older but some of these movies really exist to push a nationalistic narrative that I’m having a hard time just ignoring. I have seen mostly every summer film since 1995 but I haven’t seen Jurassic Park and I’m not going to see Superman this year. I won’t even watch it on Max either.

Entertainment is subjective. And when it comes to the internet you have people who dislike shit because it’s popular and you have people like shit because it’s popular.

When it comes to critiquing films I’ve always had an issue with what people consider a good film or a bad film. Tyler Perry films are shitty. He makes them in a week and doesn’t even try. So I get thoze

But what metric is used to say what’s a good acting story?

Casablanca, Titantic and Citizen Kane….regarded as 3 of the greatest movies of all time…standard for great filmmaking….boring as fuck…..id rather watch Blankman or Meteor Man.

There’s only one film: Birth of a Nation. The other stuff is just a variation of nationalism and racist propaganda.

Spoiler below

I know he can fly.. so that whole walking to the kid was useless.. he could've easily grab the kid and get the fuck out of dodge.. but they went stay puft having him do this slow useless walk.. movie ends with that simple power of flight.. but they dumbed him down significantly to just seeing shit from afar and being big
The classic copout for Galactus is that during most of his low-power showings, he is starving.

Mind you, hungry Galactus is still usually measures above any other power or being. But typically, when he gets caught slipping, it's because he's either weakened or distracted by hunger.

Yeah, he could've just floated there, or parked the ship closer. But I think the idea was that he was being somewhat cautious because he didn't want to harm Franklin. From his perspective, it's like he was dealing with ants.

I'm glad we can all agree Tyler perry "movies" are shitty lol

Superman. F4 good too. Superman is just a more balanced film. At times I got bored in F4.

And I like F4 but they used that 60s backdrop as a cheat code. They nailed it but if it was current day proof would have different reactions.

Exactly. Doing it smart and right isn't the cheat code. Its the best way.

Why would they choose to do it the wrong way? The 60s retro futurastic vibe IS EXACTLY what Lee and Kirby built into that world.

Have we not seen enough movies in ALL genres - force something instead of doing what would benefit the story best?

Best writing advice i ever got?

Keep it simple stupid, dont over think it.

And they understood the assignment and were successful.

Oh I don’t fault them.

But to me those other F4 movies were ass not because it was current day they just simply was lazy films.

I call the 60s era a cheat code because that was 40 percent of the battle. Good or bad film be damn the film was gonna get its due if it paid attention to detail and incorporated everything from the comics.
Incorporating them in the real world is gonna be interesting because they are not nearly as interesting.

Superman could’ve done that as well. But Gunn went in a different direction. Not only not making him relatable human wise but not making him indestructible.

The thing is that kinda went out the door when he ripped the side of the building and pulled him out.. building looked liked it went through a 9 earthquake when he grabbed him and ripped the side of the building.. they stay puft marshmallow man that dude.. just made him a slow walking giant that was hard to destroy

Respect

My thing i didnt see it from that perspective. I just thought Fantastic Four was masterfully done considering the pressure and expectations

Yeah them
Hoes terrible. I’m not even a Tyler hater though I should be. Them shits are bad. And then they talk about filming it in 5 days well no shit it looks like it took one day.
Do you think Tyler Perry puts on I'm Not You, fast forwards to Malice’s verse, and catches the last couple of bars of Styles as he reads your post?
