I was wondering if she's taking this convenient "movie" break because of it. She won't have to speak on it or be called out for it. I was thinking it's probably more of a mental health break, but this way Danny, Elevation and reddit will stay away.

I didn't like the nasty work of reposting the MJW interview, but I have to think Ian was behind it and not Mel
Is her pod a part of JBN? If not, I would assume she'd be final approve. If I didn't make the call I would immediately say my team jump the gun. Its easy to believe Ian would have done that because you assume him being White he is insensitive to the event. However Mel is kind of desperate to have the pod be successful.
I could see Ian doing it but not without Mel being aware. Just like Joe's income being released weeks after Fat Joe said he was in the JB seats. To me, Joe wanted to show people he wasn't dusty Joe anymore and his ego got the better of him. Point is Ian seems to be good at marketing but I don't see him not talking to people before moving.

I highly doubt that was put together in the few weeks following Fat Joe's comments.

It's scheduled and planned by The New York Times and Patreon. You don't just get the head of Patreon for an interview and them to do pics in Times Square that quickly.

I could see that, but if you know you have an article coming out stating your finances. Why leak the same information and it's seemingly after being belittled in public by Fat Joe. This isn't including people thinking 50 bitched him which didn't seem to bother him. He tried to keep it respectful but Joe didn't exactly just laugh it off Fat Joe's comments.
I was only talking about the initial leak; not the timing of the interview. Im viewing this as two separate events that just happened to be related.

It stirs up interest before the article drops and confirms / verifies that Joe is indeed making bank on Patreon.
I don't see them as 2 separate events.

To be fair, at the time i thought Joe was being over the top to a small joke.l,so that it being a rollout could explain the over reacting. Especially given the stories of FJs temper. It was a time he wasn't exactly far removed from 50 in behavior.
I guess Fat Joe is known as a good storyteller and people would be looking for his thoughts on the event. However, the funniest part was calling it the Jo Budden seats. Without that, FJs thoughts don't get much attention.
Maybe for me, I don't see what purpose it severe to let anyone know how much you make. Im not going to watch the pod because Joe gets 20ms a year. Not for nothing but to Charlemagne's point at that level. The brag shouldn't be how much you make but how many others you've put in similar positions. As a network, how has the JBN grown. Not disrespecting or saying Joe hasn't put on anyone but people knew he was getting money. The article i get because it allows people to see that his path he choose was right for him. Regardless of it being a rollout or not i still think the leak part was more ego driven.
