UPDATE: Donald Trump Takes Office as the 47th US President

$3k/week is not good money. Good chance they will be labeled as “Private Contractors”.

Which means that $3k is Gross.

Which means no Fed tax, FICA, MEDI is being deducted from the Gross.

Nothing is going into Unemployment or Disability and Healthcare insurance provided.

If it sounds too good too be true….

Fair point. I don't expect the people who only value the salaries of their cronies to offer good pay for any regular people. I know they have them working some insane shifts and ethics is probably not a concern.

They’ll likely get folks that used to or is currently working for the prison system. Instead of the state, they’ll go to the private sector. And you Ron isn’t going to offer better benefits to keep his workers on the state payroll if he can pipe them to the private sector.

$12000 a month

~28% in state and fed taxes (only)

~$8640 a mon before 401k and health benefits. Even if we take $1600 a mon for benefits, that’s still $7040.

I don’t know, fam. Sounds like decent pay to me. Now, the offset for me would be the hours. How much of my time would be demanded?

Like I said, if it’s Gross, you gonna have to make the deductions.

If you get laid off with a pink slip, you are responsible for paying into Unemployment Insurance if you wanna collect.

The Employer will notify the IRS of your wages, so you are responsible for paying full taxes on your wages.

After you deduct the shit that Employers normally deduct automatically for you, the Net of that $3k/week ain’t a lot.

Labeling people as “Contractors” is the new way Employers are screwing over workers today.

Now if that salary is Net, then it’s pretty decent pay. But it’s not a job for everyone.

Corrections is a highly stressful, mental and physical job. You are dealing with people who have nothing to lose.

They are basically “Caged Animals”.

The money is decent. I can’t say that it isn’t.

$3000 and possibly ~$1800 after deductions per week is ~$7200 a month.

But for the actual job stress, I wouldn’t do it. But I know some kats that could go for it right now.

Again, is it “Gross” or “Net”?….

I did estimate dedications assuming 3k a week was the gross.

If you gross 3k a week ($12k a month)

What would expect the net to be based on the information you know about yourself?

For me, based on what I know, if I gross 12k a month, I expect to net just over 7k a month after all my taxes, 401k, HSA, and health, life, and dental insurance (with a family plan). That’s good money.

You know, for people who claim (incorrectly) that they believe in an all-powerful God that sends them signs, it's funny how they ignore that every time they thumb their nose at a warning, there is an almost immediate consequence to their actions.

It's one of the few reasons I have such a bad feeling about this budget. They are being way too glib about taking people's lives and livelihoods.
