Probably a good 5 years or so. Been awhile since she had black hairHow old is that pic? She don't look like that anymore and I don't recall her ever being that thick.
They were having shows with a million viewers. However they have never consistently drawn over a million. They'd do something big and pop the number and then the next week they'd be right back under that figure. This is false. Dynamite was drawing over 1 million viewers before Punk and Danielson even got there. They were doing that with their core wrestlers such as Jericho, Omega, Moxley, Hangman, Young Bucks, Lucha Brothers, Cody, MJF, Darby, Sammy etc. Also, selling out all their ppvs. They drew based on their collective brand of wrestling.
Punk popped a rating based off of a nostalgia moment. Once the moment came and went people lost interest because his matches sucked. The only match that was even memorable was the dog collar match with MJF and that was mainly because of MJF. If you want to hold the attention of this fanbase you got to deliver in the ring.
More than that Vince was ruthless and organized. Threatening to withhold Wrestlemania to keep cable companies from broadcasting NWA on close circuit TV. Raiding rosters, his buying of the TV slot in Georgia, etc. It also sounds like he did better at having his office together and knowing how not to put himself on the brink of financial collapse which is what got Crockett out of the business along with the AWA and WCCW. It's not like he had deeper pockets than Ted Turner. But he ran his business much better. And as Scott Steiner brought up in one of his shoot promos in WCW all of the top guys in WWF at that point with the exception of The Rock had been in WCW/NWA first just like Hall and Nash.A lot of promotions have made money in America outside of WWE. AWA, NWA, WCCW and WCW to name a few. Vince just had deeper pockets. He would just go to each territory and buy up all the best talent.
Total viewership for the last 5 Dynamites
August 17th - 957000
August 10th - 972000
August 3rd - 938000
July 27th - 976000
July 20th - 910000
They're creeping up to the high nine thousands. Will Punk/Moxley put them over a million? We shall see.

It is a fanbase that values workrate over promos. However, Punk and MJF are 2 of the bigger guys there and their promos are above each of their workrates as neither is some insane highspot guy.
Wardlow is another guy that's over without the highspots.
Jericho is still featured prominently and hasn't been as good in the ring as he used to be. Not sure if the audience is completely into the fake ass Faces of Foley shit that he's been doing recently with the Painmaker gimmick for this match and I'll be Lionheart for this one.

Is this a recent change or I'm just one multiple Reddit users who keeps getting hoed with bugs. You shared those on Saturday. Now I can't share posts on Sunday?
Yeah I know. I went to the Reddit mobile sub and someone posted a video of the the share feature being broken. The app has gone to shit over the last couple months.Reddit is hit and miss with me too. Quite slow when links load in threads. Been that way for some time .

Because they kept getting preempted by TNT with NBA basketball. They would do five or six shows in a row where they'll be over a million and right as their momentum was starting to skyrocket here comes a preemption by TNT. This kept happening over and over again and is the reason why Dynamite moved to TBS.
Don't be fooled into believing workrate means highspots. Workrate is about psychology, selling and move efficiency. Zack Sabre Jr doesn't do highspots yet he's one of the best workers in the business because he utilizes phenomenal psychology and is proficient in his move execution. MJF also utilizes great psychology in his matches which compliments his promo work. Punk on the other hand is sloppy. His move execution and transitions always look clumsy. Since he's been in AEW I can only think of one memorable match he's had and that was that dog collar match with MJF.
MJF got Wardlow over with a long term story. Without it Wardlow is just another generic big man like Brian Cage.
He is? Seems like he's more about trying to keep himself over and indulging all of the random shit that he wants to do. That long alliance and feud with MJF stalled MJF's progression more than it helped him. This feud with Eddie Kingston hasn't helped him or any of the random people like Ruby Soho who've been drug into it. His factions haven't helped the people in the faction besides Sammy Guevara. Not Santana and Ortiz not Hager, etc.I like Jericho because he's always experimenting. Not everything lands but at least he's trying to get the younger talent over.
Lucha Underground was the best version of Penta. He would terrorize everyone. Not even ring announcer Melissa Santos was safe.

Overall good Dynamite tonight highlighted by ...
Punk/Mox
Garcia/Danielson
Omega's return
....That Danielson/Garcia match was nice as well...TK needs to grow some balls and shut the drama down.
I guess with Statlander out the plan now is to have Athena take the belt off of Jade.
..Just keep the belt on Jade until Statlander comes back or let Ruby Soho take the belt off Jade!!..Not that wack ass Athena chick!!..They're longest runs of over a million viewers were 4 weeks and 7 weeks and both occurred while the NBA wasn't going on and ended while the NBA season wasn't ongoing.
When it comes to AEW fans they are in to highspots which is why I said highspots. And that's how most AEW fans apply the term workrate not with a wrestler like Zack Sabre Jr or some other mat technician.
Except that story wouldn't have gotten Cage over. Wardlow has more personality and charisma than Cage which admittedly isn't saying much. But it was enough for the crowd to connect with him.

What is she, late 30's?She looks better now than she did in her prime.
46What is she, late 30's?
If those are the metrics then I stand corrected. It just seemed like the show was always being preempted.
The average AEW fan loosely associates workrate with wrestling no matter the style. Yes, they like the highspots but they just prefer wrestling I'm general over a promo driven show. That's exactly why ppv's like "Forbidden Door" can sell out with little to no build. They just enjoy the dynamics of a good wrestling match. Also, a lot of AEW fans are fans of New Japan.
No argument from me there.
Jericho helps a younger talent in two ways. One by getting them TV time which means exposure. Being in a faction with him means you get TV time that you probably wouldn't get otherwise. Two by putting over a younger talent in a feud. Having a win over Jericho is better than not having a win over him. His name means something. Now with that said you still have to get yourself over. Jericho can get you to the goal line. You got to be the one to get yourself in for the score. Some have taken advantage of the rub (Guevara, Cassidy, MJF,) while others not so much (Hager, Santana and Ortiz).
